  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :headshake :headshake worthless
  2. This board is pure crap today. Every topic is bulls***, and Im ashamed for all of the baseball fans on here who have to deal with this crap Its a 7 game series They got 2 runs on bulls*** hits we played good for having 3 days off I fully expect this series to be like this everyday. In a 7 game series in the ALCS, did everyone really expect us to win every game? We are going to lose some like this, and so are the angels. Get ahold of yourselves for god sake, and cheer on your team.
  3. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) Finally a man that speak like me.. the truth.
  4. hes a f***ing cubs fan, and the reason: he claims that fans were racist to his dad on the south side.
  5. The Count needs to throw first pitch strikes all day. His stats are overwhelmingly in his favor when he does this. If he gets them 0-2 the opposition only bats .063 against him. Come on count.
  6. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Everyone, Jarrod sold me the 4 tickets to tommorrows game, I just got off the phone with him. Can you not send him anymore PM's he would appreciate it. Thanks washburn?
  7. Its pretty easy to find, just follow the sounds of drunk soxtalkers arguing over senseless statistics.
  8. QUOTE(ChiSoxFan @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) The Score confirmed it again. Colon was left off the playoff roster. They also announced that Washburn will start Game 2. word has it that Washburn is also very hurt as well. He only threw 10 innings in sept and rumor has it that he may need surgery in the offseason. I think we can get to him again.
  9. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) That's one of my favorite shots from the opening montage. I remember seeing that when it happened and then laughing uncontrollably. thats one of my favorite plays. Copied in major league
  10. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) i heard he was completely off the rostor? if so - angels dont look to good (pitching wise) well that means Esteban Yan should be back on the roster.
  11. Something tells me that most of these writers havent been to the cell or wrigley.
  12. QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) You're in college and you can't get alcohol? s***, thats messed up. At my school we had a beer delivery service. 523-beer, it was awesome!!
  13. I agree, also asking for single tickets almost assures you of a cheap price.
  14. Ladies and gentlemen. I know the ticketmaster fiasco of 2005 was very rough for many of you. But have no fear. Ticket prices are dropping quickly. I just snagged 4 for 75 eacah for tonights game for a friend and I have a feeling that the prices will continue to drop. Keep checking craigslist and ebay, and dont be afraid to go down to the park and see what you can find. It seems like the demand is not as great as expected, and scalpers are realizing the sox fans dont pay 2500 for a single ticket. Good luck all.
  15. QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) The Oakland A's did exactly this after winning 102 games in '01. They made Hatteburg their '02 full-time firstbasemen with no experience. They went on to win 103 games. We have the means to find a replacement instead of hope that our fill in plays well, which is what they did.
  16. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) where is Man Soo Lee from?...does he count? hes the damn Korean babe ruth.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) Idonno adrenaline isnt the same in baseball as it is an any other sport where you are a lot more active... in baseball they will be sitting down in the dugout a lot or standing around on the field.... all of our players said that the tiredness wont get to them until game 2.
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Well if Konerko did leave, who would replace him at 1b? Unless you traded for a Chad Tracy or Lyle Overbay, no-one withing our organization is going to go near his power numbers than Jermaine Dye. As for your prediction, my thoughts are this. 4 out of those 5 years were spent in Oakland. He's hit 8 more HR's here in Chicago playing in a full season then he did in Oakland playing a full season. You have to look at just more than the career stats, when deciding if a player's going to be next season or not. He's only 31 as well, so he should be right in his prime right now, maybe a year or two after. Other players like Juan Uribe, A.J Pierzynski have shown the impact U.S Cellular Field will have on your power numbers when you move here from another team. Thats the question the management must ask themselves. But it wont include converting Dye to a 1B. It will assess our minor league system, our current player in that position, and what is available via trade or Free agency. I personally think they will re-sign konerko. You do realize that Uribe came from colorado dont you?
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) Ok well I'll say if he can stay healthy (which I think he'll do especially if he moves to 1st, and since he seems pretty healthy across the board right now), he should definitely post around the same numbers next season hitting in this ballpark. I disagree that he will continue the same numbers. His career trends right now show this year as an outlier in the last 5. I think he will regress a bit. Not only that, but I think he is a terrible replacement for Konerko at 1B. And if this organization wants to pencil in a player that has 1 career game at 1B as their starter for next year, be prepared to be very angry with them. That is not a move that you make after a successful year like this. That is a Royals move and i would lose alot of confidence in our managment if we use a stopgap like that. There is no reason to hold the team together with duct tape.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) And I know it ain't a good comparison, but still right now Dye for 4M vs. Maggs for 12M, shows what a shrewd move it was. Im not saying Dye wasnt a good value over Maggs. You got way off topic. I am saying that based on Dye's numbers he is not going to keep up at this production and this durability.
  21. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) He rejected more money from other teams (including Texas) to come here. What do you think this off-season if he was a FA, he would get in a weak market from a team desperate for a power bat. The Sox did their research and came up trumps on this one. Based on career numbers, Magglio Ordonez should have done a lot better than he did this season, but it depends on the situation, what park you're hitting in, which guys you have around you etc. Maggs didnt play alot of the season. And still hit for a good avg. You cant use someone who had experimental surgery before a season in a debate like this. Dye is good, but there is a reason he surprised alot of baseball people with his durability and resurgence this year.
  22. People like that dont last too long in the real world. After growing up with means, the girls will turn to coke abuse during their teens into their 20's. After experiementing with sex and chemical substances, they will check themselves into rehab, be disowned by their family and end up on Wacker asking for change. The End
