  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) Well I'm talking about how he'll have to run around less at 1B than he would at RF, even though most of the time in RF you're just standing there. But things like that at the plate are just freak things, Joe Crede never hurt himself real bad before this season when his back played up and he almost broke his finger trying to lay down a bunt. Dye has been injury prone in his career, and it wasnt just a freak accident. Why do you think we got him for such a bargain. There is no real proof that he will continue to play as well as he has, based on his career numbers and trends. He will not play 1B for us, and if anything he will be a DH in the future.
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) Don't you also think that IF Dye was moved to 1B it would increase his chances of staying healthy? Well, didnt he hurt himself at the plate 2 years ago? I dont think it has much to do with it.
  3. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) you got tix I actually need 2 more.
  4. There is a serious hole in this entire thread. And its relying on Dye's production to continue at this pace. Do you all realize that this year was basically his most productive and healthy since he was in KC? 2004 137 games .265 23 80 2003 65 games .172 4 20 2002 131 games .252 24 86 2001 61 games .297 13 59 (Oak) 2000 157 games .321 33 118 (KC) there is no real trend of Dye being healthy. It was one of the reasons that he was let go from Oakland. He had one of his first real healty seasons this year. But according to his history, we shouldnt expect another season like this.
  5. Mike and Mike this morning. Mike, Mike, and Steve Phillips picked us to win this series. Greeny even predicted a sweep. Bad Karma.
  6. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) Lackey 2-0, 2.57 ERA vs. CHW in 2005 Santana 1-0, 0.00 ERA vs. CHW in 2005 Byrd 1-0, 7.50 ERA vs. CHW in 2005 I guess those 4 guys do have enough to win a 7 game series. Don't think it won't be tough against the Angels. They run well, and AJ has a tough time throwing people out. They pitch well, and the Sox have been known to have hitting problems. They make it a 7-inning game with Shields and K-Rod at the back end of their bullpen. The Sox have their hands full. There's a reason why the Angels won the season series 6-4. They are very, very good. Dont forget that our last series with the Angels, we were starting to slump.
  7. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) Can we hit their pitching? How would yu rate our starters vs. theirs?? At this point, our starters are superior in talent and depth. OUr rotation is rested and set up exactly how we want it. JC is hot at the right time, and we have the most balanced staff. Our bullpen is rested and El Duque is a safety if one of the starters falters. Bobby Jenks is much more effective when rested. Anaheim has an injury to their #1 starter, their #2 just threw yesterday, and their #3 is sick. Their #4 just pitched a game tonight. Their bullpen is solid in the 8th and 9th innings, but we have hit their bullpen at times.
  8. Escobar cant start I dont think, he isnt stretched out. Colon looked horrible on the moound, he is done.
  9. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) I can't skate Hey, I wasnt trying to be mean or anything. I just didnt know.
  10. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) The goal is 2 feet closer to the back wall, too, which creates different angles. It seems to me like he just hasnt become familiar with our players, or the team yet. Im sure he will heat up eventually. Goalies are weird folk.
  11. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) Thing of it is about 99.99999% of the people here are die hard White Sox fans so me and the other more , uh, aggressive posters simply give voice on the boards to what most of us are thinking/saying when they watch the game at home. good point.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) I was actually lmao about your correction and missed his the first two times I looked at it. ah, snap.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) fixed :puke you shouldnt have
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Here is the worst Red Sox fan board. Johnny Damon stalker web board doesnt work
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) That always happens to me. I want to correct someone else's grammar and I f*** up my own. Methinks Steff was just waiting for that to happen.
  16. QUOTE(mkalk @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) Agreed. I'm sort of glad I have four and a half hours of classes to take my mind off of it. that may be the first time anyone has been happy about almost 5 hours of class.
  17. QUOTE(mkalk @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Nope. Once I picked my favorite teams, I stuck by them. cool, just wondering.
  18. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) I agree he will improve, but defensive familiarty? You either see and stop the puck or you dont. Theres no familiarity, unless of course he became unfamiliar with a puck during the lockout. Im not sure if you played much hockey, but there are certain differences between the way that teams play defense. Bulin was familiar with the way that his old team moved to the puck, covered for each other, etc. He may not be used to the behavior of this new scheme, or the players tendencies either. This may be why he is giving up so many rebounds in bad spots in the crease.
  19. QUOTE(mkalk @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) I'm getting nervous now, since we don't know who we will be facing....but at least they will be tired, whoever they are. In just 26 hours, when TV coverage starts, I will not be able to eat. wow, you have a real mixed bag of favorite teams there, any particular reason?
  20. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) If their flying American Airlines that's already taken as a given. zing! Not as bad as British Airways though
  21. This is a longer series, so its hard to get too nervous. But I am already sweating it a bit. Its been awhile since we are this close to the prize.
  22. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) Tony; you're right I am giving him s***. fixed
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) Sorry Rock, I like you on this site alot, but your an idiot to be going back and forth with Anthrax. For probably close till the 21st, 22nd time, he is just starting s*** to start s***. I just shook my head after this... Just give it up. If you think im getting upset you are dead wrong. I like to read his poor arguments and his horrible responses to even the most basic question. Thanks though!
