QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) I think our problem is that we have to deal with stupid ass Flubby fans on a daily basis and it warps our perception of what the other teams fans are really like. There is the key. How many RED SOX fans have you really dealt with? Probably not too many as a majority of them in this area are cubs fans wearing a Red Sox hat after last year. It skews your perception a bit.

the best quote is "the nail in the coffin, they have balls, we dont" in response to the squeeze play with AJP.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) Again I said my piece others saw it, not my job to make sure your 16 year old ego gets filled. Most of the things I have not been wrong on; when you tell the whole story.. but you don't never have since I been here never wil . You need your ego stoked. WOW to quote from X-men2.. Once again, you think it's all about you.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) The question you should be asking is how many times is he actually wrong? Still bringing up only 1/2 the story I see.. Amazing in almost a year here you still only have that one reference..of course you only tell the side of the story that suits you and doesn't make you completely wrong..should we bring up the clement or how about the RJ deals you were for?? Or how about Jarret Wright? Funny you forget those. This is a pointless arguement; since I am f***ing with you larry..your so easy to play with.. You should execpt honestity from me.. where else you going to get it from? I already said my piece the last day of the season..Sorry I don't need to repeat myself so you can get off.. Thank you for taking the bait. In any and every situation where I have lobbied for a player, and they havent performed, I have admitted I was wrong. You can search EVERY post that I have ever made, and try and bring up something i was wrong about. Go ahead, in fact I encourage you to make a thread about it. I will tell you where my thought processes were, and where I made the error. That is part of being a man in this world. Truth and opinion do not go hand in hand, this is one life lesson you have yet to learn. Thanks for playing. (sidebar-I have been here for more than a year, this was not my first handle.)

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) The Sawks fans sitting directly behind me during game 2 were really nice people...I had no complaints at all with them or any other Red Sox fans at the cell that day. I actually enjoyed reading that thread, thanks Rock. Always lookin out

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) I heard the opposite when we faced the BoSox at the Cell! I have to argue that alot of the Bosox fans that are at the cell for the games grew up in chicago and are Red Cubs fans. They replace their cubbie blue with their Red Sox hat in any situation. Many die hard red sox fans are very intelligent about baseball.

There is a really good post about Man Soo Lee in there as well.

dont know if anyone posted this already. BUt the RED SAWKS fans give us mad props for completely crushing their team LINKY

QUOTE(Wedge @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) The best thing to happen for us: Mussina pitches, Johnson pitches, and Rivera pitches 2 and the Yankees win. They said the RJ is the first arm off the bench for the yankees, which means Wang in game one.

Who will win the NFC North?
RockRaines replied to greasywheels121's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
can they all lose and give their spot to someone in the AFC? -
I think Bulin is the type of goalie who relies on defensive familiarity and rhytmn. I dont think he has gotten in his groove quite yet, and isnt sure how the defense reacts in situations. Give him some time, he will improve.

wow, even the angels think he is the slowest man in baseball http://www.angelbaseball.net/angels/roster_advanced.php

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) What errors? Man you must be on the rock.. Paulie is by far the slowest..take off the White Sox blinders.. Have you ever been right in your life? Do you even WATCH baseball? Maybe you were too busy trying to figure out scenarios to get Rus Ortiz here next year. AJP is probably even slower than Konerko, in fact they both said it was close. Molina is widely regarded as the slowest man in baseball, that is a FACT. I expect this from you, honestly, you arent even man enough to admit you were wrong about this team, about all your offseason moves, and about KW being executive of the year. I wouldnt expect you to be man enough to admit you were wrong in this case either. Your posts have lost all relevance in this thread and on this board, and only YOU can correct that.
-
Line up 1, not even close. Dye will never play 1B for the white sox. And it is better defensively.
-
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) molina runs cirlces around Paulie.. Paulie only man in baseball history to strech a triple into a single. your errors are endless. Molina is the slowest man in baseball, we turned a triple play on him last year. Do you even watch baseball?
-
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) i guess david ortiz doesn't play in the american league the slowest guy in the AL in Bengie Molina, sorry.

Dont discount Brooke Fordyce.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) Been there done that..but doingit once is easy.. Anthrax-4 KW-1 So, KW did a great job in putting together a team that won our first postseason series since 1917?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Again, as the title of this thread suggests, it's regarding a situation where Dye goes to 1b. Thus, we would then have RF open. I don't think Anderson is ready to be a full-time starter at the MLB level on a contending team. He'd be better off getting a full year as a 4th outfielder. If we were to lose PK, and basically replaced his offense with Anderson.....our offense would be worse next season than it was for a good portion of this season. And don't tell me you don't want Jones cause he K's too much. Anderson would strike out a ton if he played 130 games also in the majors. So Dye to 1B???? SHould I automatically start a thread where a-row catches, because its about as likely. Dont care if Jones K's too much. You are worried about the offensive drop off huh? Consider this Jones-.249 .319 23 73. If that isnt a drop off, then I dont know what is. If you dont think Anderson could possibly best a pedestrian .249 avg and .319 OBP then he shouldnt be our top prospect. Not to mention Jones made 5 million this year, and will probably look for something at that level or above, I would say he is overpaid and underperforms. His BA has been steadily sinking for about 4 years, as well as his OBP. His k's have been rising as well. Looks to me like he has peaked and is downturning as we speak. I do not see him as a good replacement for Konerko's offense as you used as an argument against Anderson. With the money saved on PK, Everett, Frank etc, we would be in the market for a replacement bat that would play the position that we need, and if its an OF, expect Dye to DH, not play 1B. Dont forget that we need a DH as well next year considering Frank likely wont play or wont be back. You may want to look farther than the first name you see on ESPN to find a decent player to plug into our starting lineup, cause Jones is not a good fit.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) Absolutely. He's the type of fighter than KW and Ozzie would love. If we can bring in AJP, we can bring in anyone. I know we all want the Sox to get someone like Giles for the outfield, but that's just not very realistic. If you get someone like Jones to play the outfield, you could then have Brian Anderson be his back-up for a season, and get playing time against tough lefty pitchers. since when do we have a spot open in the OF? FYI, Brian Anderson is ready, and IF there is a spot open, it will be his. We wont bring in another player to fill in an OF spot, especially someone like Jaque Jones.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) For about the 20th time in the post, this is all speculation assuming PK goes elsewhere. We all want him to come back, but he's putting himself in prime position to get high payroll teams in a bidding war for him. Thus, that's why we're talking about scenarios about what happens if he goes to another team. So you really think Jones is a possible scenario? Knowing all that you do about our system, our players chemistry, and KW?
-
QUOTE(shoelessinva @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) Definitely a team effort! Great chemistry and the right pieces. But, you just can't undervalue what a true leader means to a team and the significance of his impact to keep us focused and on mission! As a Marine, I understood the value of each and every member of a platoon, company or even battalion. But, without a leader or leaders, we'd have no direction, no purpose and no drive. welcome to soxtalk seems like I have to say that more and more these days.
