QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) It may have been Frank Thomas or Bobby Jenks. Frank appearantly throws a wicked knuckleball and Jenks' knuckleball is like 80 MPH. wow, what if jenks could mix in a knuckler in games? Wow.

Honestly people. If you were a sports agent, wouldnt you take a hardline to make sure he got the DNA test, at least to make sure that he was going to be ok in life? Its like being in sales and making sure your product is functional. I dont get his stance on doing whatever Eddy wants him to do, have some damn principle in life, s*** -
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) I used to go there all the time after work...but now I go to Doc Ryan's in Elmhurst, since its so much cheaper. I actually took one of their waitresses to a wedding...back in the day. I don't know anyone there anymore. Yeah, that place is cool too. There is actually a little dive of roosevelt called Good Times that is a pretty cheap place to watch a game as well. They used to have this mammoth burger that nobody could finish.

I am getting the half day treatment from my cubs fan boss to go home and watch the game. I was wondering if anyone else in Lincoln Park/Lakeview area are going out to watch the game as well.

Great imformative post. The wetness does mess with the grip, which could cause a tighter grip, which causes more rotation. I have said it a couple of times on this site, when i played ball, the knuckler was probably the only decent pitch I had. Being that I wasnt a pro, the weather conditions and wind always had an effect on the grip and the float of the ball. Just an FYI.

Im still in awe that other people call that place dirty champs. I am probably the annoying drunks who bother you all.

Blackhawks Are Back!!

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) New coach, lots of new players, they weren't going to click from game one. It's players like Tyler Arnason and Mark Bell that will determine whether the Hawks will make the playoffs though. Can they become 60+ point scorers? I honestly think Calder and Borque will finish with more points. BTW Daze looked the slowest I have ever seen him. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) Rain will NOT take the crowd out of the game. They had a long rain delay against the A's near the end of the season this year, just about every fan stayed and were loud as f*** even while it was comming down. I highly doubt a little rain will silence them. no, but it will mess with the grip on the knuckler, and may impede its movement.

A woman calls her boss one morning and tells him that She is staying home because she is not feeling well. "What's the matter?" he asks "I have a case of anal glaucoma," she says in a weak voice. "What the hell is anal glaucoma?" "I can't see my ass coming into work today

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:53 AM) What about dirty Champ's on Roosevelt? Champps with two Ps is too classy for me. holy s***!!!! thats what we call that Champs, we always say we are going to dirty champs. We go there all the time, at least when I go to the burbs, play derby champions, and eat the fantastic chicken bites.

Blackhawks Are Back!!

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) I know that, and you're the biggest pessimist for the Hawks around here, but you gotta admit they at least did a good job in the off-season. As for the PP, when Spacek comes back, I think that'll be a lot better, with him and Aucoin on the point. Special Teams are going to be really crucial this season though. didnt look too good on wed, actually they looked worse than 2 years ago. BUt the 10 dollar seats are nice. -
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 11:12 PM) and i'm drunk underager!!! call the cops!!!

QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) BULLs***.... there wasnt any problems with the system my f***en ass... I love the work Reifert has done, but he is just there to be another mouth-piece for the organization.... this has become a f***en embarrasment, this whole ticket scandal Its not a scandal you guys. Too many people wanted tickets. You had 3 computers on line, brokers had 200. This is just the way it is. Its a numbers game, and they have more numbers. Many of these brokers get their tickets from the same source, you can tell that by look at the seat locations. There is one major computer bank that is focused on doing just what they did today. This is the reality. They will not sell all of those tickets at those prices. Your best bet is to scalp, or buy season tickets next time.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) No, but I do believe it could elevate mediocre to good, and good to great. Giambi was a great contact hitter while in the minors. He got on base at a good clip and hit the ball with frequency. Steroids turned him into a homerun god and an AL MVP. The fact is he cheated, and his old stature shouldnt count for anything. As far as I am concerned, this may be the REAL Giambi for the first time, and he is not deserving of a comeback award. IMO I dont think he should ever be eligable for any award, and I still think the AL MVP should be stripped.
-
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) Rock, who would you have winning the award in the American League? Bry Nelson Honestly though, a player on Roids, coming back from getting off his cheater juice? Come on. Might as well call it the, we are happy you could actually hit the ball while not cheating award. BTW Wickman 2004-30G 30IP 14ER 26k's 0-2 13sv's 4.25 2005 64G 62IP 17ER 41k's 0-4 45sv's 2.47 2002 20 sv's 4.46 Pretty good comeback.

knuckleballers vary in grip, arm release, velocity, arm angle, height, drop, fastballs, etc. They are VERY different. If you watch Hough vs wakefield vs sparks, they all have different knucklers.
-
QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) exactly thats what i was talkin about. god that would be amazing.... I agree. Even though you could profit enormously, especially from my 10th tow tix I wouldnt miss that for the world.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Wait, let me get this straight...I can buy two "fan forwards" which aren't even TICKETS for $1100? That's what they're offering me? yeah dude, dont do that. Its all about timing and contacts.
