  1. God dammit. I thought that was in the gap. Great jump
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2016 -> 08:38 PM) The sox sent out a questionnaire asking if you would bunt in a tie game after pitcher has thrown 8 straight balls in the 7th. He was the only person to say yes, so he got the job Good news is his replacement is already on the bench. Way to dog it Navarro
  3. They've got to be shopping for a starter. We already have two holes in the rotation.
  4. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 18, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) Now can the offense against the great Doug Fister? Not if they keep swinging out of their shoes. But this team tends to score late.
  5. We are literally calling pitches right into these guys hot zones. Why?
  6. We call the dumbest pitches sometimes. Just asinine.
  7. The entire lineup is swinging out of their shoes
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) Avi should be able to hit him Yeah right. That soft breaking ball that starts down the middle and ends up in the dirt is his kryptonite.
  9. Soft soft soft soft soft soft. That's all he's throwing.
  10. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 18, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) What exactly does Lawrie do well? Get hyped? That seems like it may be the only thing. Hit and field. I'm guessing you weren't watching because then you would have seen the ball hit the seam of the grass and dirt and hop on him.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) Can't be walking their worst hitter Well he did throw at least one strike that was called a ball. Probably two
  12. Bulls*** walk, bulls*** hit, bulls*** hit
  13. Why is the umpiring so bad vs the Sox. It's becoming an epidemic. Our pitchers get squeezed like crazy
  14. QUOTE (Tex @ May 18, 2016 -> 01:28 PM) Exactly the point. Why wait to retire in your 60s if it means some senior care center? How about a thirty year retirement before that? How many people are you talking to that retired in their late 40s and 50s? I didn't have any. Based on the people you mention, I agree. Spend it now. Planning retirement backwards. If you want to retire at 50, figure out the financial factors and do that. If you want to retire and move to a senior care facility that is another equally valid approach. Spend now, work longer. Spend less now, retire earlier. It's a choice we make, I'm just not certain how much we really spent thinking about it until it is too late. Planning is great and all unless something bad happens. I am going to have a heart attack at some point, so should I load up on life insurance and spend money now or save a ton of money to retire even though I may not make it there. Delicate balance.
  15. QUOTE (Tex @ May 18, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) IIRC you are in and out of customers all day long like I was. The only way I found to look decent by lunch was an undershirt. Dropping damn near $20 a piece for something no one else sees seemed stupid, but these are really solid. The underfit is much snugger. Yeah I have a hard time finding good ones and they wear out. The necks are all different from brand to brand as well.
  16. f***, I wouldnt work. I would do nothing. I got a pretty sizeable severance payment at a job years ago and I didnt do s*** until I had to.
  17. QUOTE (Tex @ May 18, 2016 -> 10:08 AM) If we are going to discuss dress and clothes . . . I'm an undershirt guy with dress shirts and now with casual shirts. I hated to spend money on them. Now I'm buying expensive undershirts but they make such a difference. http://underfit.com/ and https://ribbedtee.com/store/category/most-p...ar-undershirts/ make well tailored designs with deep vees that are hidden under sport shirts. Thanks dude, nice links.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 18, 2016 -> 09:47 AM) Has the word "investment" even been used in this thread? Buying a new car will never be a financial investment, but for me its a pleasure investment. I need a luxury car, otherwise I am super unhappy.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) Albers is getting in trouble because every pitch is on the same plane. Needs to do a better job of changing the eye level of the hitter Agreed. You just knew he was going back down there and so did the hitter. He needs to elevate those
  20. Rodon looked good, he gave up two homers on out of the zone pitches.
  21. QUOTE (shysocks @ May 18, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) Sure, the Sox absolutely should have put that game away before the 11th inning, and Albers should make a better pitch on 0-2. I just want the umpires to do their jobs. It wasnt an awful pitch but it was a horrible call. You could tell he was adjusting to that down and in 2 seamer with his practice swing. Going back down there was moronic.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 17, 2016 -> 02:54 PM) I just bought a Kenny Cole suit yesterday. So that. I really like their dress pants, good fit, good material, good value.
  23. QUOTE (farmteam @ May 17, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) Yeah I like. Might have to check that out. I usually just wait until Men's Wearhouse has a sale. How many suits do you guys own/rotate through? I have around 15 custom suits and maybe 30 shirts. Getting custom or better fitted shirts may be more important that the suit itself. You can get a decent off the rack suit tailored to the point where it looks good, but the jacket comes off right away and you have this baggy shirt with long arms underneath it. There are many great services that offer affordable "custom tailored" shirts that are a great value.
  24. QUOTE (Tex @ May 18, 2016 -> 08:24 AM) Amen. And I would add for me they are tools. Even when I was a V.P. of a company I looked on my vehicle as a tool. For the past ten years or so I have needed something with towing capacity, five passenger comfort, and lots of carrying capacity. A pick up works perfectly. although a Suburban or Expedition would have also worked. Sometimes when you drive alot that tool needs to be extremely comfy with lots of bells and whistles!!!
