So what did you do when Crede homered
RockRaines replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
does anyone know how hard it is to describe to someone who knows nothing about soxtalk the irony of Crede winning the game and rally crede. "Theres this board, soxtalk, and we made rally crede avatars" "you mean a message board" "yeah, anyway we all put up this rally crede" 'whats an avatar, what site is this?" "forget it" -

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) if we are lucky we have this year and maybe next year. What makes you say that? The young pitching staff? Mark, Jon, Freddy, BMAC are all young and will be here a long time. Bullpen-Cotts, Jenks two cornerstones are locked up and young. Is it the young core of talent in the minors? Young, Anderson, Owens, Rogo? Im just wondering where you get that notion from. I feel like you are making a general statement just to be negative and prove and already weak point. We have position players in the minors ready to fill in for most of our positions that are occupied by aging or departing players. Not to mention we even have the problem of too many talented OF'ers. Also our pitching rotation is probably the youngest with this many wins, especially career wins and experience. 2/4 arms were home grown.

AJ stepping on Boone=Hunter running over Burke
RockRaines replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The funny thing is. It was a smart play. By stepping on Boone's back, he couldnt get off the ground in a hurry which may have allowed some more time for the runners to advance -
So what did you do when Crede homered
RockRaines replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
im not gonna lie, I barely watched the game because I am a jinx. I was cleaning my condo, went back to the tv, thought they were showing a replay of the first one he hit, and then I heard screaming across the alley. Trust me, they are better when I dont watch. -

I think I may use this quote in my next sig line material "And I am the Dubass here? That should be in green with lights on it.. Jose (contreras) wished he was as good as AJ.. BUrnett is by far the bext pitcher out there to grab.. and we need him I don't what you are all debating about this for?"

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) If you trade Dye, and have an outfield of Pods, Rowand, and Anderson, you're just asking for an even worse offense next season. Dye has a very solid contract for next season, and he's basically a lock to hit between 25 and 30 homers. Don't forget he's also a solid veteran who you'll never hear a single bad word about. I'd much rather get rid of Pods or Rowand. Dye is at his peak value right now. Alot of Gm's will repeat what you just said. Even though this is matching his career year, and he hasnt been this good in quite awhile, we assume this is how he will be. The fact that he hasnt been injured and has played this many games, is a smoke screen in his injury filled career. This is why i think we should unload him.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) I have been just not posting or logged in, just read the BS waiting for someone else to see the truth. yes, you are the truth. Honestly I expected better with that much time typing. You may have lost your creativity taking so much time off.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) They have the best overall relief in the American League. Last I looked, while the Sox bullpen keeps blowing late leads, Wickman and company keep getting the job done. Also, to stay hot for as long as they have, it requires more than luck....it's talent! Their starting pitching is very solid, especially with C.C. improving from his awful start. Wickman will be gone, Millwood will be gone

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Trading Dye, who's value has gone significantly up this year since he actually stayed healthy the whole year. Alot of people may have a knee jerk reaction to this idea. But after awhile I thought it actually made some sense. I think we need to get a little younger at this point and see if our home grown talent can support our young pitching staff. Trade Dye put anderson in the OF. Keep Borchard as additional OF help. Use that money to grab a BP arm or possibly help in Kong's replacement. Getting rid of Carl, Kong's, Dye's and maybe Franks salary, oh and El Duque really frees up some serious payroll and maybe makes us younger and a little more hungry and ready for the long run?

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) As much as I like Anthrax, I, too, have to admit I nearly fell of my chair in laughter when I saw his name in italics at the bottom of the home page. I'd count him in on the bandvangon

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) I'd say this current Indians team doesn't have very many holes. Good speed, good power, good average, deep starting pitching, great relief. decent relief, which will be possibly restructured next year. Decent starting pitching. Bad defense, good power, but they are subject to slumping much like our old team. So soon we forget how terrible they were. They got hotter than any team I have ever seen, but thats always a funny thing.
