What Sox Prospects would u like to see next year?
RockRaines replied to whitesoxgt's topic in FutureSox Board
Balta, I like the way you think. Even though I think Dye is more valuable than his offensive numbers, I think that Putting Anderson in his spot may be a decent option for us. It saves us money to sign a real difference maker in Paulie's spot or in the pitching staff, or even the IF. I think Carl has cashed his last check with the sox, and I believe that there is no way we can keep him. Im all for injecting some younger guys a la the Braves and seeing where that can take us. FWIW, its always more fun to watch guys develop than watch old vets try and regain their game. -
You know im always in.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 08:36 AM) Jas....you have officially lost all sense of reality now haven't you? And I'm sure you would like to hear that I was at that game last night. Bringing my losing streak to 10 games. I just got off the phone with my friend...I am no longer attending the game tonight, my ticket is gone. I was banned two weeks ago pretty much. I wont be attending any games at all this season. Sometimes you cant even watch it on TV or you will hurt the team.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) At the rate the Sox are going, and the way the Indians and Yankees are playing, I'd say 50/50 is a pretty legit chance. I feel pretty good about our chances with Mark and Jon on the bump. Then a little tiger-bashing. You know that the tribe wont win out, its almost impossible for them to do that. I have faith.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) Hmm... He inspired me when he wrote this in a thread a few days ago too.... Have all you people lost you're minds? out of context your tribune reporter wanna be

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Pounded, we had 1 ER off of him. Here is all I have to say about last night. Politte 8th Jenks 9th Ballgame wheather we win or lose there is no real debate. s***ting on and pointing out the obvious are very different. I feel we still have a shot at the playoffs but this is very, very sad to think it is 50/50 right now. It could be worse, you could be a Red Sox fan. you are extremely narrow minded and negative. 50/50?? Last time I checked we were leading the AL. Are we not?

You guys are all weak and pathetic. WE own the tribe. So they sqeaked out a game when our pitchers were horrible. We pounded the best pitcher in the AL ERA-wise. We own the tribe this year 10-4, what makes you think we wont take the next two games? We own our division and only play them the rest of the way. Everyone who is s***ting on the sox needs to leave the site. It was better here before you came anyway. I wont miss your horrible opinions and your knowledge-less posts. Good riddance to you and the horses you rode in on.

no chance. Non-factor in most of the second half

QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) This ought to be the lineup everyday until we clinch. No more messing around... then Carl should not be in the lineup. The guy is horrendous
-
I agree with Randar. If you mean potential by who has the chance to be the biggest star. Young has Maggs-like offensive numbers in terms if extra base hits, and has the speed and fielding ability to make him a staple in a starting lineup. I like him a whole lot.

QUOTE(whitesoxgt @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) I'd honestly like to see Casey Rogowski get an opportunity if Paulie leaves (free agency) but im not sure if he will because Ozzie wouldn't give Jerry Owens a chance because he plays in Double A. Worst excuse ive ever heard. Chris Young or Brian Anderson should be taking Jermaines spot. I think. Pitching: I'd give McCarthy a spot in the rotation for next year and release/trade El Duque. Release/trade Vizcaino he hasn't been that bad i just expected a lot more from him and give Felix Diaz a shot at the bullpen last year he was decent for A ROOKIE but ozzie gave up on him after one start. ONE START and he only had one bad inning in his debut giving up a couple home runs. huh?? Umm Viz wont go anywhere, especially considering he is an every other year guy, and has been very consistent this year. Dye=isnt going anywhere, may DH or play 1B Diaz=nope BMAC=will have a rotation spot I would like to see Young, Owens, Anderson up. BUt I would trade them playing every day in the minors if they are going to sit up in the bigs. Anderson shouldnt go anywhere, and should have a shot to win a spot in the OF for next year. Owens may take SPODS place when he leaves to another team and Young is going to take Dye's spot when he leaves most likely. Rogo may come up and play Gload's role, considering its obvious he isnt going to last with this team. -
QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) I am pumped after that win, but let's all get a handle on ourselves. First Place in the NFC North is akin to being the tallest midget, you know? It's always good to see the Pack and Vikes lose, though. According to the CBS broadcast of the Pack yesterday, it's the first time ever that the Pack and the Vikes have started 2-0. Isnt that along the same lines of what everyone said about the AL Central to begin the year??

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Cleveland has won 12 out of 13. They have to cool off sometime, don't they? they need to find out that we arent the Royals TB or DEtroit.

I was there, thought i looked clean. After some replays it looked like he might have led with his head. I dont know, I dont think it was intentional considering all the apologies he was dealing out

Say no to expedia. They refused to give my buddy a cancellation and refund on our trip right after his dad died. Then they messed up many of the flights and getting credits back from them is anightmare. Say no to them. You can book trips yourself, and you will feel more comfortable in the process.

Who's not going to the Indians series
RockRaines replied to Tadahito Iguchi's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I have tix for all the games, but im not going. Im a jinx and Im on a serious losing streak at home. Good luck -
no first inning runs, and a peformance like that of his in Minny. Seriously, we just need to win the two series, or just go .500 against the Tribe from here on out.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 09:32 AM) Do you have some type of beef with DBAHO, lol? He might know more about the NFL than anyone on this site. And besides, who on Earth can make a logical prediction when it comes to the Bears. I dont agree. I think his knowledge of the Bears is seriously lacking. Just look at the QB thread and see if he knows much about the bears. Secondly, I was at the game this sunday, and what a game it was. Bear Down seemed to be coming over the loudspeaker every 5 min. Great weather, great game. Lets put two weeks together now. Orton looked great BTW, great poise, made throws when he needed to, and ran the offense efficiently. He made some GREAT audibles at the line.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) Borchard has faced Baker a bunch of times in AAA. He should know what he throws. seriously I was hoping for him or anderson in place of Carl. Its clear Carl doesnt have much left at this point. -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) Which is scary as hell.... its an up and down thing, baseball. Turns out though we picked a bad time to be down. There is also alot of pressure on the Indians who have to win about 12 games out of their 16 left.
-
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Maybe the Royals will get on a roll and sweep the tribe. Maybe I'll be a better person if the Sox miss the playoffs. Maybe monkeys will fly out my ass. Maybe it really doesn't matter. One thing is for certain -- I like Joe Borchard. I know we won't see him for another week or so again, but I like the way he's hitting the ball. Joe does look differnt swinging the bat. The offense looks decent, its the pitching that is terrible
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) My question is,and something that might have to be looked into, did this team quit on Ozzie? its become obvious that they have. They used to want to win, all the time. Try and scratching for wins. Now they are lazy, play bad defense, dont hustle on the basepaths and look downright terrible.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) Thank god that we rested Gooch. Keep playing your horses Ozzie. If they dont want to play, then you bench them. No s***, Gooch was the most impressive hitter yesterday, so we sit him??? Makes no sense at all, Now we have a must win situation against the team in our division that we have the worst record against -
Damn, we just need to stay 30 games above .500, please give me some wins. If we collapse Im not sure i can take it.
