  1. So the last year and a half or so my game has been getting worse. I only started playing after college so I am kind of new to the game. Two years ago I was almost getting my handicap down to a single digit and this last year it ended up around 15. The key to my resurgence is this: 1. My swing path had to be more straight back. My pro showed me one video and my clubhead wasnt getting above my waist. Take it straight back around my head. 2. Relax. My swing thought with every club is, "loose." My hands are loose and my arms are loose and I can turn the face over and I dont over rotate my hips. My last 10 rounds have all been under 90. When I was scuffling I was in the 100's with literally not a single good iron shot all day. I shot an 83 today at harborside and it could have been better. I recommend anyone to have a lesson and take a video. Then RELAX. Loose arms, loose grip, watch the head strike the ball and turn. I was so frustrated the last year with my game and now im back on the road to single digit handicap.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 13, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) Oh SSD, how I've missed thee! Hey dude. I was at Audi this week and checked out their next two years roadmap. Wow. They are stepping up their engine and tech game. Just wait until 2017-2018
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 13, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) And that Arrieta guy. His contract is going to be so ridiculous.
  4. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 13, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) I'm just really enjoying this Avi right now I'll say. Short and sweet. It's how he should be. He has enough natural power.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 13, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) Agreed and I love both on an individual level. Stone and hawk are bad.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 13, 2016 -> 08:41 PM) Plesac and Hawk are a fantastic combo. I just don't like Hawk. He's so off topic.
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 13, 2016 -> 08:35 PM) How many schools still have fully nude showering anyway? That wasn't a thing when I was in high school. It's not common anymore.
  8. QUOTE (Tex @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:30 AM) Yet, for years and years people try. You can't wake someone who is pretending to be asleep. Greg is the straw that stirs the filibuster. He intuitively knows what opinions will keep things going, grabs that side, and fires away. If we didn't already have him we would need to hire someone to do that. Hes not pretending dude.
  9. QUOTE (Tex @ May 12, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) Personally, I preferred a two door for getting my kids in and out of the backseat car-seats. It is kind of going almost straight back instead of across and back. (If that makes sense to y'all). Psh, you also dont have snow
  10. QUOTE (Tex @ May 12, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) Now we seem to have a contest to see who can overreact the most. These lawmakers really have a lot of bathroom encounters
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ May 12, 2016 -> 01:46 PM) You all are confirming a lot of chatter I hear. They get too small as soon as you have a second. Good stuff, thanks. 2 car seats almost touch in the back seat of the smaller SUVs
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ May 12, 2016 -> 11:55 AM) Hey parents - we'll need to get a bigger car than our 2 door yaris. Wife likes the rav4 hybrid. Having never bought a new car, I'm hesitant. What's the consensus on these mini suvs. I'd rather just go balls out and get a 1980 volvo stationwagon. My wife loves her Jeep Cherokee, hated her CRV. Her friend just got the Ford Edge and loves it. Our traveler is my JGC though which is much larger and frankly with #2 coming I am thinking about going to an escalade
  13. Well its officially official, baby #2 on its way
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) Ditto. I'll go to one every few years when the Bears are in the vicinity. That is it. Have no real desire to see them in person. Have a hard time figuring out what the hell is even going on. HD TV's have just changed things for the sports fan. The picture is incredible, its located right near a nice clean bathroom and I can fall asleep.
  15. FYI, the Sox arent all that interested, but the media manipulation is interesting.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ May 12, 2016 -> 09:48 AM) I'm in the crowd who doesn't like going to NFL games. Too much down time. Too many commercial breaks. Weather. Tough to see everything from some seats. Soldier Field also sucks to get to. Unless you have a waldron deck pass its awful. I prefer tailgating and leaving to actually going. College games on the other hand...
  17. QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 07:31 AM) After fading to mid pack in the regional tournament my top player sees the difference between low 80s and low 70s shot making. She arrives within 30 yards of the green better than almost anyone in the region. Now she has to turn pars and bogeys (or worse) into birdies and pars. First off we analysed her equipment and she has a huge gap in distances between her PW (118 yards) and her 54 Degree (88 yards). So she is looking into a 50 degree, probably to match her other wedges not her iron set. We are working on distance control with every shot. Borrowing from Dave Pelz and his clock system. Adding a low running chip Adding a higher pitch Improving from the sand Improved green reading using aimpoint Improving putting using EyeLine Golf's 1000 Putt Challenge and equipment. My chipping game changed with wedge selection. I moved to better spaced Vokey's and added several different types of shots with different degrees of open faces. My go to 30 yarder nowadays is a 60 degree wedge played well back in my space and I spin it right in towards the flag.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 12, 2016 -> 08:47 AM) 400 level is fine if you are in between the 20's and in the first couple of rows. There is a trick to Bears tickets. They release pretty nice seats around 5 pm on Fridays before home games. As far as way up on the 400 level, I haven't been up there but my sister was given tickets and said it sort of sucked. Of course she was also in the corner. I've sat in the top row of the 400 level in below freezing temps. It was like watching a game in hell. Plus it was against the packers. Its a hike to do anything from way up there.
  19. QUOTE (Tony @ May 11, 2016 -> 11:02 PM) They have a style, but are a very, very good, well-rounded team. They absolutely stepped on the throat of Dallas tonight. They've become much more well rounded at the end of the season and although they can still be the physical plug-filled hockey team that barely plays hockey, they also have some skill that is producing. Their first round matchup was the hardest test they will face until the finals.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 12, 2016 -> 01:33 AM) Sure. Those bathrooms will have a lock on the door. Small. No, one urinal and one stall, designed for multiple people using it.
  21. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 11, 2016 -> 06:22 PM) So after the series from hell we won't lose any ground in the division. I'll take it. Thanks Marwin! Offensively we were pretty darn good. The Pen had their first bad games all season and the bottom of the rotation was ugly.
