QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) Edmonds has also won 7 gold gloves. What exactly is your point. You're comparing Aaron Rowand to some of the best defensive players of all time. Hey you know who else is better than Rowand, Willie Mays. seriously.

QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) I guess... hail the all Mighty Rowand. Give me Young or Anderson for the future... you can have Rowand. Wow, unproven minor league players vs Rowand??? Rowand Zone Rating #1 MLB 2004 #2 2005 Rowand Range Factor #7 MLB 2004 #8 AL 2005 Put Outs-#7 MLB 2005

QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) You guys hype him to much. No where near .. Lofton.. Griffey ...Hunter defensive status. He's a solid player.. love his heart. hahahaha, way to go and name probably 3 of the best CF'ers in our lifetime. His RF was excellent last year, and he continues to improve. He one of the best in the MLB at this point in tracking down balls. Considering this is his SECOND year of playing CF fox the sox, I would say he is way ahead of schedule.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) No, f*** THAT. Don't apologize. I agree with you. I know you still agree with yourself too. Who cares if people don't agree with you're opinion. I say f*** the red sox too. I agree, and only because he has grown up a Red Sox fan and converted. It shows not only disloyalty to your real team, but a bandwagon tendency. Generally people who have two team, have them in different leagues.

QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) From froma a gold glover... gold glovers dont misjudge balls .. Rownad has done that allot this year. greta series vs Yankees.. Gold Glovers do it every series. Uh, he has, where have you been?

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) ESPN 1000 3:40 sports center update"Brian Anderson recalled from Charlotted. Scott Podsednik likely headed to the DL" YES!!!!! I cant wait to see him in person. I hope he gets to play one of the next few days. Scotty needed a break, and BA needed to be brought up.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Because they had dumped 15 truckloads of sand on the field for the upcomming Stones concert there. Also Bossard did not install "his system" there. he made improvements to their existing system. To install his that field would have to be tore up completely. From what some fans around us said it's better than it used to be. But the rain came so fast, so maybe that was part of the problem. All I know is they were dumbfounded. Using portable pumps to get the water off the warning track and from behind the plate. really, I heard different. I also heard that once he got to the field it was 6 inches lower after he renovated it. Maybe he was just a consultant on the project then. I dont know why every team doesnt hire Roger. His field is clearly superior and his drainage system is dominant. -
I have a rotty that i bought in college, very loyal.

Steff, Fenway is bossard's field though. Wonder why the drainage system didnt quite work like at the Cell. From what I remember he completely re-did the field and installed his drainage system. -
Interesting names that have cleared waivers..

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Pitcher A has a 2.96 ERA, Has allowed 10 HR's, 1 Wild Pitches Pitcher B has a 3.48 ERA, Has Allowed 16 HR's, 7 Wild Pitches Can you guess who player A is and Player B is? Does pitcher A have a Cy Young? -

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) Another possibility, but if you try to put Wing through, since he is currently on the DL, you may get him through and then just option him to the minors. Right now, I don't think he'd draw much interest. well his 0-4 and 8.69 is pretty attractive.

QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) One of the guys here mentioned they can put Frank Thomas on the 60 day DL and that would also clear a spot on the 40 man. They will probably do this eventually.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) Our outfielder list has narrowed. Guillen said he had spoken with general manager Ken Williams and farm director David Wilder about their options, but Guillen made his point clear: "I need a leadoff guy." That leaves Owens and Harris out of that list. Owens is definatley a lead-off guy. If he stays, he will replace PODS as the lead off man and resident base stealer. .400 OBP
