  1. QUOTE (almagest @ May 11, 2016 -> 02:47 PM) Not on that one Well if 100 feet short of the wall is the "cusp"
  2. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 11, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) Can someone describe Fielder's hit? A soft flare pop up that landed in left field against a pull shift.
  3. You would think the 6 extremely overwight Texas fans would have broken his fall a bit
  4. The umpiring has been dreadful this series as well. Really want to get the hell out of Texas
  5. My god that change to Abreu was perfection
  6. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ May 11, 2016 -> 02:28 PM) I've had my teeth through my lip three times. A couple stitches and he's fine. Should be good for Friday if that's all it is. It isn't a bit deal. Gonna be super sore for awhile, but thats about it. Real scary when it happens.
  7. There you go, teeth went through his lip. I've done that, it hurts like a motha.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 11, 2016 -> 02:22 PM) I thought it was his nose, but I'm not sure. Why would he be covering his face and running frantically like that if it was just a tooth that got knocked out? It looked worse than that, but what do I know. Because it f***ing hurts. I'm betting there are some cuts in those lips.
  9. Man we such defensively on this field for some reason. Wind obviously has been a factor.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 11, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) He's probably out for awhile. Damn, I feel so bad for him. I hope he's ok. Why? its just his mouth.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 11, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) Was the case last night too outside of his hit. Right so now in 4 at bats he's reverted?
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 11, 2016 -> 02:05 PM) Avi's reverting to his weak contact ways. Uh oh. Since two games ago?
  13. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 11, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) Obviously it was a confluence of factors that led to blowing the lead but trying to "steal" an inning with Carroll was the 1st action that set the whole chain of events in order. I didn't know that Petricka was on the DL prior to the game but that said I still feel that RV was managing like he was playing the Twins or even the Royals instead of a really quick hitting offense like Texas. Carroll should have been on the shortest of f***ing leashes and in retrospect Albers was rushed into the game. RV just seems to be on "cruise control" at times. Not sure if that's because he puts so much trust (and authority) into cooper or what but he should have been much quicker to act last night imo. That said, Carroll and Sands have no place on a MLB roster. Carroll had zero command last night and was just hanging meatball after meatball over the zone when he was getting it over. So, who should have pitched then?
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 11, 2016 -> 11:32 AM) So you draw the line at the lead the Sox had. You do realize a 6 run lead would have still been a loss, and a 7 run lead would have meant at the very best extra innings. And if you didn't use Carroll earlier, guess who would have been basically the only guy available in the 10th of a tie game? Math is hard though
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2016 -> 11:16 AM) But almost always in very low leverage situations. Other than as a starter, he hasn't often felt that type of pressure/environment as a reliever. He's not accustomed to it. You could just feel that at-bat with Mazara slipping away after the first two reached. That's why those DJ Carrasco-esque/Sean Lowe numbers are always a bit misleading. On paper, he and Jennings (another example) looked great last year, but they weren't often trusted in key situations to get the team an important victory (psychologically, for Rodon, in this case). Since when is a large lead a high leverage situation? His job was to not give up a billion runs and save the pen. Exactly what the last guy in the pen is supposed to do. WE've had less days off than every other team, and half the pen if not more was unavailable.
  16. QUOTE (Tex @ May 11, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) Agreed. The only reason to not put him in the 8th with a 5 run lead is it pisses off the other team to think you are so confident in the win Hes actually been a very effective reliever in the majors believe it or not.
  17. QUOTE (Tex @ May 11, 2016 -> 11:01 AM) When else would be pitch? Perhaps the third inning when you are down 5. Depends who is starting the next day, who pitched the nights before and how much rest they've had the last week or so.
  18. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 11, 2016 -> 10:31 AM) Where the hell were petricka and putnam? Your mopup man is not the guy you EVER want starting the 8th up five runs. He should only be used to mop up early in games where the starter s*** the bed. Awful managing. Thats literally exactly what he's on the roster for, especially when the team has less rest than every other team in the majors.
  19. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 11, 2016 -> 07:00 AM) Every move Robin made in the 7th and 8th cost us runs. This one is on him. Not the players who were put in that situation, nope, on the manager, pitching coach and bench coach. Bringing in the last guy in the pen with a big lead after playing 26 games in 27 days is CRAZY. Everyone knows to burn up a super tired pen when in the lead. The team is now 20-1 when leading after 7 innings.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 11, 2016 -> 09:47 AM) All you do is come up with random crazy scenarios where a woman or young girl might see a "male part". No matter what you say, it all comes back to the fact that you can't imagine a penis being in a woman's bathroom. Because we all know, as soon as you enter a woman's bathroom, everyone strips naked and walks around until they go to the bathroom. If a penis is allowed in a women's bathroom they are "made" to see it. Duh
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 10, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) 87-88 MJ was the defensive player of the year, all star game MVP, averaged 35.0 a game, shot 55% from the floor. I think that should be unanimous. How many are the best defensive and best offensive players in the game at the same time? Yeah but how many 3's did he hit?
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2016 -> 06:07 AM) Unless you're discounting the Indians, it's 5 games over CLE and 7 over the Royals and Tigers. And it seems like every pundit/prognosticator/analyst is arguing the Indians are the REAL threat to the White Sox. In the end, we're going to play all three of those teams a TON in the next 6 weeks, so the best team will be apparent then. As far as everyone saying relax, don't panic, don't worry...sure, that's fine...we heard that same thing in 2012 and 2010 and 2008 and 2006 and 2004 and 2003. Just once did we hold the lead, in 2008 over the Twins, and that was by the very thinnest of margins possible. Nobody's saying the sky is falling...we saw a sense of urgency with Danks to move on, hopefully we see the same attitude from the front office regarding Sands and Carroll. Actually several people are saying the sky is falling They just played 26 games in 27 days. If the last guy in the pen cannot hold a lead in a situation he was brought in for so be it. We've had be best most reliable pen in the AL this season and the goal last night was to use exactly one guy when they got the lead.
