  1. s***, I will rent him and his family a freakin mansion in Tuscon, scottsdale, vegas, wherever. Just please come to the sox, please!!!
  2. I love how a well fought win brings out the most pessimism and criticism in people around here. We were handed the win, Pods shouldnt have gone etc etc. Come on people. We just proved so many media and fans wrong. We went to yankee stadium, and gave up 5 runs!!!!! That is serious baseball.
  3. Whatev, I will personally pay for his flights home every other day to FLA if he would come to the sox. s***, make that part of his contract. Just get him goddamnit
  4. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) No I wouldn't. He has the green light, he will continue to run, the pitchers will continue to throw fastballs and we will continue to win
  5. Walker is left handed and makes good contact.
  6. 2 names that may make it through waivers: Jeromy Burnitz, Tod Walker
  7. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) Like I said I support his stealing, and trust him doing so, but its in the later innings in situations that make or break the game and when baserunners are hard to come by that I don't approve of it especially when your 2-3-4 hitters are coming to the plate. if he made it you would be all over him for being smart and clutch. In YOUR lifetime you havent seen a base stealer quite like PODS, and we havent seen it on the sox. He has the green light, he will continue to run, the pitchers will continue to throw fastballs and we will continue to win.
  8. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) I don't know if either slumping or streaky are the right words. He's as predictable as ever, and when you know before the pitch is thrown that he's going, its obviously going to be easier to throw him out. Do you think Rickey Henderson was predictable?? When you are the leading base stealer, most everyone knows you are going to steal. He has the constant green light, deal with it.
  9. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) I really don't think he'd go on his own in that situation. It was just as blatant as the Dave Roberts stolen base last ALCS on Posada. I didn't like the move, but to each his own. It has been widely said that Ozzie always gives him the green light to make his own decision in every situation. He trusts his baserunning ability, and so do I.
  10. lately he hasnt had the best jumps, a mid season slump, maybe he is tired, who knows?
  11. excellent post from a yankees fan about the game: don't. The ChiSox have by far the best pitching staff in the AL. If you're going to beat Chicago, you have to beat them at their game. You need to have great starting pitching. We did that. But you also need to play smart, hardnosed baseball on the basepaths. We didn't do that. And you need to play airtight defense. We didn't do that, either. Defense is what cost us this series. Chicago plays the kinda defense that turns hits into outs. And we play the kinda defense that turns outs into hits.
  12. hahaha, I can see the ESPN headline, yanks barely lose
  13. A-row is the man, once again making my sig that much more classic.
  14. Ok, heres the thing. You want know bombs in this situation. Jenks hasnt really been hit hard yet. You need to bring him in here.
  15. please go to the pen. We cant give this one away.
  16. he is not getting his jumps like before. WTF is wrong with scotty.
  17. damn, he is getting caught almost every time now.
  18. They are replaying it, great slide and got in under the tag.
  19. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) If 3 k's is the hat trick, what do they call 4 k's? golden sombrero
