QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) You can't say "nice as well" if the other guy doubles his #'s.... you are too young to say that

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) If there's one arguement you can't make for Huff over Overbay it's doubles poduction. Overbay is a way better doubles poducer than Huff. '04 2B Huff:27 '04 2B Overbay: 53 '05 2B Huff: 16 '05 2B Overbay: 21 did you see what I wrote after it
-
I like Overbay a lot. But I would choose Huff for a few reasons. 1. He strikes out less. I know this isnt a huge deal to some people, but it pisses me off when there is no contact. 2. More pop-I think we need a left handed bat that can drive it out into left field once in awhile. 3.More experience. They are the same age, but Huff has more big league experience and is showing in his slight increase in walks and decrease in GIDP There are several others as well, I like his GB to FB ration, and I like his doubles count, even though Overbay's is nice as well. All in all, either one is a great replacement for KOng.

This bring up the question though, who would you rather have, Aubrey Huff, or Overbay?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) You've never heard of Prince Fielder? Cecil Fielder's son. One of the top prospects in baseball, major power. it was sarcastic, I figured I didnt need the green.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) The only reason they'd even think of trading Overbay right now (which they have denied that they are trying to do) is because they have a player in AAA right now in Prince Fielder whom they feel is going to be a better overall player than Overbay in the long run and he is ready now. Overbay is not expensive at all, he'd make about $2M in arbitration, they'd keep him if they had a place to put him. There's absolutely no motivation to trade Turnbow. Prince who????? If we get Overbay, good, but its not looking good right now. I think KW is looking towards Huff to settle that need.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) He was effective for how many years in Japan? MLB figured him out in 1 year, lmao. He will be effective again. He lost his release point, and we lost our patience. I think his experience and maybe working with his old pitching coach should restore shingo. He just needs his breaking balls to be called strikes and we are in business!
-
Sucks to be them, because he will be good again, he is a true pro with years of experience.

this thread is G A Y.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Before steroids, he was one of the greatest. With steroids, he is the greatest. You will never know if thats true, becuase we dont know the effects, how many other players did them, and what he could of done without them. He was always a stud, and has shown it throughout his career. The guy is the best I've ever seen. The argument about armor is ridiculous, hit him in the face and legs and he will f***ing move. Blaming that s*** on armor and getting hit is unbelieveably close minded and is a huge stretch. Biggio has stepped into many inside pitches, and he doesnt hit like bonds does.
-
TB is not a team that participates in fair trades. I dont see any of this happening unless its a three team deal.
-
Bonds is probably the greatest player ever, bar none. Even before he was suspected of juicing, he was a force in the batters box and on the basepaths, not to mention in the field. The guy has accomplished more in his career than almost anyone else. This argument is pointless.
-
Pods IS slowing down a bit, and is getting caught stealing more and more. His first step isnt as explosive. He may need an extended rest.

QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) Speculation? It does make sense...BUT it seems TB gets screwed unless the prospects are REALLY good Well, they are trying to unload HUff, and I know Baez is going to be a tough draw, but maybe Philly throws some in too, because we are losing alot, but gaining alot too, philly is losing wagner and some prospects and getting Baez and AJB, and TB is losing two players but getting a ton of top-level prospects. I dunno, its just been speculated. I know that KW needs to pull something off for our bullpen, those guys are tired!!
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) Source? We get Huff AND Wagner..........WOWZA! ESPN insider mentioned that we are trying to flip AJB for wagner and Philly is trying to get Baez from TB. I envisioned this in my head...and xbox
-
KW has been trying to get AJB to flip him for Wagner for awhile now, and now has a notion of three team deal where we flip AJB to philly and Philly grabs Baez from TB, we get huff and wagner and supply TB with the prospects. Doable?
-
88 pitches folks, there is no way he should have been taken out with that lead. He also shouldnt have wasted a bullpen on the KC royals. Let Cotts finish them off, and save the pen for the next series.
-
As far as I am concerned, this guy is the closer. He has the best stuff of anyone in the whole pen, and seems like he may have the make up as well. Jenks is tha man.
-
QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) If Ozzie left Garland in there we woulda won for sure he was only like at 85 when he got pulled. AND then he wasted 1/2 our pen in 2 inn. Oh well, these hard games will come. I hope everybody checked out of the game unhurt. Oh yeah i gotta tip my cap to Jenks. He didnt have his 100 mph heater today but was mixing his pitches well, expecially against Sweeney. Lets go get Baltimore on Friday. 88 pitches???
-
Jon probably still has something left, put him BACK in
-
I still dont get the 88 pitches for Garland???
-
88 pitches??? I dont get it
-
88 pitches for Garland, I dont understnad why you take him out there. Come on
