Christ, DJ and the Pope just reached a new
RockRaines replied to Hideaway Lights's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(The Bones @ May 25, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) I think if DJ and the Pope had more time together in the booth they would be better. It seems like the Pope is not very comfortable and DJ's always trying to get him to open up and say something. However, nothing beats the Hawkeroo. I love Hawk as well, but I think Rooney and Farmer as so much better to listen to, they are the best in the biz as far as I am concerned. If they did TV too, I would be happy. -
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Was our current GM a GM before? Do you have to be a GM to get a GM job? are you making a case for yourself to get the job?? There is MUCH more to the Braves that their GM that has won them titles-this is what we were expressing. Their HOF manager, and the best pitching coach in the business helps alot as well.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) I say never had the sox had a good GM, If they were smart, we fire KW.. And look into Atlanta system to find our next GM, you don't win 13 straight DIV titles on luck. Maybe we could then trade some of our minor league bench warmers for Bobby Cox.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 26, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Rumor has it Kenny will be heading down to Charlotte this weekend. Its true, guess we will see what he thinks of the situation. It cant hurt to at least bring him with soon and let him get some at bats for us.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 26, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) .......and it's funny that it seems people's expectations of him keep falling and the same people still want him around. It went from oh he's gonna hit .290 and get 35 dingers, to well maybe. 280 and 30 dingers, what is it down to now? .250 in the eight spot and 20 Hrs. Thats what he has become, an average hitter who hits for power who has a great glove and a great arm. He makes the tough plays easy and helps the others around him. If you guys havent been watching the last few games, our defense is crucial in our wins. Balls that snuck through in previous years are being eaten, balls that used to drop in front of our slow outfield are being caught, we need our defense to be rock solid. Say no to trading Joe.

QUOTE(knightni @ May 25, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) I would love having Ichiro on the Sox. I'd deal Dye, Anderson and McCarthy to get him. He is the ONLY player that I would deal McCarthy for. Just imagine Pods batting 9th, Ichiro 1st, Iguchi 2nd, Thomas 3rd...there would be MAJOR base movement and run production there. See, heres the thing. I would trade BMAC, realistically to get several players. I would trade him to get another ACE starter, like clemens. If it comes down to us needing to hold off the twins coming down in the stretch in September, I would easily trade anyone to get clemens or someone of that nature.

Ozzie it's not a sin for Marte to face a RH
RockRaines replied to JUGGERNAUT's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 26, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) We are going to need some quality innings from someone other than Dusty, Marte and Cliff out of the pen before the year is over, I'm sure. Ozzie cannot afford to just give up on these other guys or wait to pitch them in blowouts. Blowouts are not our game this year. Ozzie has to try and get these guys straightened out. The only way to do that is by pitching them from time to time. Don't crucify the menager for doing his job. Great post, yet another reason why we need another shut down reliever, Baj anyone? -
QUOTE(Wedge @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) VMartinez: AVG HR RBI .191 2 12 So you were right about him? Thanks for playing. I got a fever, and the only remedy is...................

How did he lead this discussion to Carlos Beltran?? Come on its a bit of a stretch.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) See, this is wher you differ.. I say that owners.. would have to pull out their money to sign AJ.. DYE would have been Gullien(a younger better version of DYE) and Gooch.. see AJ.. Put Hernandez in there and he be exactly where he is now.. ON THE FA-KING DL.. ACTUALLY, this is where your opinion differs from, well your opinion. If you had YOUR way, we would have then taken that money and signed umm in your words "the great OC" Orlando Cabrera. You also didnt want AJ cause you said that other that V Martinez and I-Rod, Davis was the next best option:see AAA. That means not only do you have OC in the batting order, but Willie as well.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) So Russ Ortiz counts for .00000000000001%? Clement .00000000000001%? Leiter .00000000000000001%? Cabrera 2,498,678%? Dont forget Renteria being much better than Tejada.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:21 AM) Here we go... JIM boasting his small fragile ego of his.. :sleep another day more BS from Rock and Jim.. Keep trying.. Another knowledgeable post from Anthrax :headshake Keep trying buddy, someday you will be heard. :puke

Anthrax, do you need my address to send me the prize, or should I pick it up?
-
I would like to see where I wanted Jared Wright, but as I said before I have been wrong on several issues, especially Garland, being a man, I can admit it. But an early exit for Anthrax means more intelligent posts by all, I think we are all winners today!
-
Uh oh, Anthrax has been typing for a long time, I sense something like, you guys are all wrong, why cant you see the light...KW sucks, and my team would win the WS.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ May 25, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) I wouldn't exactly count out Beltre or Ramirez just yet. Both of these guys have a ton of talent, which is why it was so frustrating when these guys were disappointing early in their career. Beltre has certainly looked bad, but I think in the long run his numbers will be somewhere between those of this year so far and those of last season. Remember, he hit 48 homers playing most of his games at Chavez Ravine, which is definitely not a hitter's haven. Ramirez has had a couple of years that were pretty good. He was almost as solid in 2001 one for the Pirates as he was for the Cubs last year, and his combined numbers from 2003 weren't all bad. Both of them still have several years to deliver on the contracts they received. Mark this, Beltre will be sweet.....next time he is in a contract year.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) Speak and you shall receive; You could also add the rant he went on about how much better renteria is than Tejada, but thats besides the point.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:52 AM) May I add ... PLEASE! Nothing hurts a fan base more than this negative attitude second guessing a first place team. The inability to enjoy the success and the fun that comes along with winning cant dent this guy's terrible outlook on life. So so sad On a lighter note, lets keep the west coast run going!!! Im sure Kenny has something up his sleeve for us in the next month, and I am excited to see what happens.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:43 AM) PLease show me the post where I said that..Keep trying Russ Ortiz is the only bust pitcher I had mentioned. Check your posts, you'll see. Will you ever go back to being a mets fan???

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:07 AM) Hey now every bullpen has a soft underbelly...And Cotts has not been that bad, Walker hasn't even gotten in a meaningful game. I wont argue with Vizcaino who has me frustrated beyond belief...But we need BMac to take their place in the bullpen just sitting out there, kickin it with Art...Sometimes I'll never get it I dont know why anyone is so down on Cotts about walking people, Walker is known to walk many many many guys as well. I think they are both crap at this point, but Cotts is a little less crappy. They still should bring up Baj though.

The pope's voice is high pitched and whiny, I cant stand him.

Juggs is classic, Anthrax posts his opionio na dhis xbox trades, and Jugss still owns him with stats based on his fake trades...ridiculous!!! Heres to the best record in the MLB!!!
-
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 25, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) Jugg, this is one of the few mistakes I have made over my short tenure here, I actually wanted in this order pitchers 1. Derek Lowe 2. Matt Clement 3. Doug Davis 4. Russ Ortiz 5. El Duque... No one not even me, you or anyone for that matter could have guessed that ElDuque would have come on like he has.. I however love the new KW BS lines.. WHen we signined him KW promised us that he was healthy and not to worry about him. Now with him on the DL KW says that this was known and planed out, to keep him for 30 starts.. UMM?? What other GM inks a guy knowing he going to be on the DL for 4 mil a year? Uh no you didnt, stop lying to yourself, you were petitioning for AL Leiter in the rotation with russ Ortiz.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 25, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) I think the biggest problem everyone has with Crede is that he's supposed to be so much better than this. He has the ability to be so much better than this. He has the ability to hit .280 or better, and drive 30 home runs out of the park, but he just doesn't do it constantly. We saw what Crede could do when he had his technique right in the first weeks of the season, and now he's back to his old ways and everyone feels angry and mistreated. The guy should be so much better than this. He really should. Whether he SHOULD be better or not, I dont think we appreciate his current ability nearly enough. He is good at what he is right now, and i am content with having a reliable player in the hot corner. We could have it ALOT worse that this.
