  1. Here are the OF, that are on the trading block Preston Wilson Matt Lawton Mike Cameron
  2. If its the reds, could it be graves, and Willy Mo? Anaheim is desparate, maybe they are giving up some players. It could also be seattle as well.
  3. Yeah, they released him because he is terrible on the worst pitching staff in the MLB. He gives up bombs to everyone and has basically been worthless as of late. Not to mention he made a huge stink about losing his closer's role.
  4. I agree, I think we should go another direction. I am not sure he is worth what we will be paying him, based on the market trends. There will be some serious players that will be available at the deadline as well as in the offseason. I think we wait it out and see if he will sign at a discount, or explore other options.
  5. Anthrax, hindsight is always 20/20. Dont forget, you were the one who said you would rather have Russ Ortiz than Pedro......
  6. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ May 23, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) Sox don't need a closer. End of story. We need another bullpen arm and to give Viz a bus ticket out of here, but we don't need a closer. I think Hermy can do the job and I still believe Shingo can turn it around... BAJ!!!!!
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 23, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) He's about 10 points off the Mendoza line, that's how. And it doesn't matter that he doesn't refer to himself as the team leader (what player on any team says that?), it's understood that he is. I dont think its much of a mystery that AJ has taken over a LARGE portion of the leadership on this team. Its evident just watching them in the dugout.
  8. There are too many people in bridgeport that dont want that element to come to their area. Its too bad because just a little ways north University Village is a great place for people to live and it could be the LP/wrigleyville relationship of the south.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 23, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) I think it's time for a Promote Jeff Bajenaru Club. You and I can be the Charter members...and we can disband the Promote Brian Anderson Club. consider it done.
  10. No doubt in my mind that Baj is due for another chance.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 18, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) This research is just plain dumb... im sorry but the color of your uniform doesnt make the team any better. ummmm, I think color does have a reaction on people. In AZ there is a maximum security prision in which all the inmates wear pink outfits and underwear. The pink has been proven to be a calming color and emasculating for agressive personalities. Do you honestly think that if the sox wore pink, they would be taken as serious as all black?
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 23, 2005 -> 07:54 AM) This will be the 7th team in his career he's been on. Now I know kicker's do move around a long unless your name is Adam Vinateri or David Akers, but that should prove what type of a kicker he is. The only reason he was released was because the Jets got the best kicker around in Mike Nugent. He is the truth.
  13. I said in another thread, that im not going to be critical unless he keeps f-in up after June. So I will keep quiet until then.
  14. That play should be an amplified look at whats wrong with the cubs this year. A severe lack of fundamentals and overall game knowledge. They just lack situational baseball skills. Do you think pods would have stopped at second if that would have happened, no, he would have been rounding it watching his coach.
  15. cubs fans have been b****ing about this too. Bottom line-watch your third base coach idiot, especially with 2 outs.
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 23, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) You really think Jenks is ready? Everything I've heard says that he's going to need a year or two in the minors. 100 mph fastball and a killer curve-not to mention nobody can hit him and he is racking up saves. He may need a year or two, but its hard to deny his stuff is electric.
  17. Heres the thing. KW is looking to make a move as we speak. YOu know he is, he sees this as the season where he can solidify his position for the next several years. Now we could easily lose Viz to another team, because we have superior depth in the minors. As far as bullpen arms go, Baj and Jenks could both close some innings in relief for the big club. Both guys have completely shut down hitter in the minors, and I think have the makeup to s*** down some bats if brought up. Viz could be part of any deal right now and I would have no problem with it.
  18. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ May 23, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) Well, I think it's an interesting concept. I like picking up Teixera for third base...but I'm not sure where we would play Blaylock. I love the idea of some power from the LH side of the plate, but we have a huge logjam (like we always do) of 1B/DH types, which will get worse when the Big Hurt returns. And Rowand is a very tradeable guy given his CF ability...but he's at relatively low value right now. I don't think they should trade him while he's down. But I do think that Anderson could step in and do a very nice job if he's traded. Upgrading 3B is definitely the way to think, though. The problem is that there is not a lot of 3B talent out there. (Although Hinske might be available, even though he is playing 1B right now). At a glance it looks like this post has some value, until I read the statements. Tex plays 1b, blaylock plays 3b, and looked like crap when we played them. Heres the real way to argue for this trade- Kong could not be re-signed so Tex could play 1b, and hank 3b, and then bring up Anderson to play CF. This would not only make the team slightly younger, but possibly cheaper as well. Losing BMAC would be a huge blow, however, and im not sure it would make the trade worth it to the sox, but there is slight upside by unjamming the OF clusterf*** that we have going on in our system. As far as Hinske-no
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 22, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) damn the cubs team seems a bit stacked doesnt it... thats not good... future sox killers.... also that felix pie looks to be a gamer by staying in the game even after being beamed in the head. dont worry, they will trade it ALL away in the next year or so.
  20. QUOTE(Pastime @ May 23, 2005 -> 02:36 AM) So were Valentin and Clayton, and what did that get us? wow, Valentin and excellent defense should not be in the same paragraph. Have you watched the team prior to this year??
  21. come on people, he gave up a pop fly homer, it wasnt a bad pitch, and any other day that would have been in the mitt. Great game by everyone, good series, lets take em at the CELL
  22. Why even make a what-if thread when we have the best record in the majors mostly due to this move that was made by KW. NIce work though, I will tell you what if, we wouldnt have the best record in the majors.
