does anybody have the link to his highlights in japan???

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 3, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) DJ was rattling on several times about the only pitch Iguchi and other Japanese players haven't seen and will have trouble with is a change up. I remember that too, then 2 seconds later he laced one of Santana's into left field. I think the fastball is what has been giving him some trouble, but I think he sees all pitches very well. Not to mention he turns the double play extremely quickly, which I love. and your avatar is distracting

Best call of all time: Dynamite drop in Monty, that broadcasting school has really paid off. They dont call him the best color guy in the business for nothing folks.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Aside from the Duke-Kentucky game name one game that is clearly better than the Illinois vs. Arizona game. how did that tourney end up for illinois??

Nice to see a few cubs trolls around here. Things are looking a little bleak in the ivy huh?
-
He Gone, quick work of that guy. If the cubs were smart they would have gotten rid of Rothchild, Baker, and their new third base coach who is exactly like their old one.
-
I wish Wirtz would sell.
-
that s*** is seriously funny, can someone post the cubs one with a translation, I cant seem to navigate my way around the site.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 2, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) I agree with you. He may be 3-0 now, but just wait. This guy wasn't even in the Cubs rotation at the end of the year. He is definitely not going to be worth the money the Red Sox are paying him for the length of his contract. So Soon you forget how he carried the team at the beginning of the year by eating up innings for their s***ty bullpen and being just about the only dominant pitcher they had to begin the year. He had a tired arm at the end of the season because that was the most innings he had pitched.
-
I actually work with several cubs fans, and they want to see Dusty go. its hard to ignore the poor in game decisions he makes and the terrible use of the bullpen. Dusty is a huge factor in destroying several players arms, including Jason Schmidt, Mark Prior, Kerry Wood, Chad Fox, etc etc. He poorly manages his pitching staff, and his lineup from day to day. I have never seen someone change the lineup to make such little sense. When D Lee was on a nasty hitting streak, the day after he hits 2 bombs, he moves him to 8th in the order. He is a players coach because he doesnt yell, and lets them do what they want, but he is a terrible manager, and I think cubs fans are starting to see that.

QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 2, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) Wow, u must be smokin that good rock. most irrelevant posts ever, thanks for wasting 2 min of my life with your verbal spam. I think Pedro will turn into a few good late inning sub for the sox as he has great hands, and is a very toolsy player. I think he can have an impact this year or the next.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 2, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) How exactly has manufacturing runs helped us in April? We've gotten lucky that our pitching has been so good -- which, was a good job by Kenny (and not really noted enough in the article, IMO). See-our record in 1 run games.
-
Im surprised that he got caught, but I am very interested to see what happens to him after. I wonder if we will see any drop off in performance.
-
Once again, another guy who hasnt seen any games, knows nothing about the team, and derives all of his opinion from looking up a few stats comparing years. Personally, last year, with no injuries, I think we would have won the division. Our team was killing people in April, so I am glad that we are producing close to that total. Small sample size and no insight=this article.

QUOTE(Nokona @ May 2, 2005 -> 06:25 AM) I loved Jons reaction too. White points the bat at him and Jon just walks off the mound, looks at him, spits, wipes his forehead, catches ball, turns around. It really shows something that jon wasnt about to put up with someone hitting Pauly. I think Jon was pretty pissed about that. Shows some serious clubhouse respect.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 2, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) always bet on black Great quote, priceless bit from Snipes

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 1, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) I agree. But you have to consider that they beat good teams last season in April too. 4-1 vs KC 3-4 vs NY 1-1 vs Cle 2-0 vs Tor 4-2 vs TB Not necessarily great teams but they played extremely well against NY, almost swept KC, 1-1 vs Cleveland, 2-0 vs Toronto, and did pretty well against Tampa Bay. The main thing I see is that this year's Sox team doesn't stoop down to the opponents level and I like that poise and confidence a lot. Where are the good teams in that list, I see NYY, but KC, Tor, TB?? bottom of the barrell, and Cle wasnt good at the start, and is a third place team, explain to me how thats good??? We have dominated our division rivals this April, while beating Min as well. I think that this April was much more productive.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 1, 2005 -> 08:42 AM) Is Everett going to good enough defensively though especially for Ozzie's liking? It's kind of a double edged sword. Hence, why it's actually quite important for Dye to get his stroke back before Frank returns. Was Carl playing some CF for us about 2 years ago???

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 2, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) Discussing the merits of Pedro Lopez and Pablo Ozuna makes me want to see Rafael Furcal here next year Pedro Lopez was selected as the best fielding player in AAA I believe, so I think there is some merit to his skill. Ozuna seems to be a player that just might now be getting his shot and coming through in the role. Im happy with how the team is now, but if Cintron wants to come to the sox, thats fine too.

Garland Haters and Lovers prior to 05'
RockRaines replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I definatley did not like him coming into the season, thinking that he was an overpaid 5th starter. But Im now even more cautious. Because if we sign him to a bigger contract now, what if he turns back into old Jon? Then he could be the next Chan Ho, and we would look stupid. -
if we are still in first place at deadline
RockRaines replied to soxfan420's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If its a closer that you want, its rumored that TB would rid themselves of Baez for a hot hitting outfielder. As far as other players that we may need, Cintron, I think, is a good option. But at this point I dont think there is much we need. Maybe another bat, but it hasnt hurt us yet. -
Uh Oh, Whammy!
