  1. Heres another quote found in the tribune "He knows I can (bleep) him alot of different way. He better shut the (bleep) up and play for the Detroit Tigers." Ozzie says he can f*** Maggs alot of different ways?? Ummm roids possibly......
  2. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Guillen is a prick, pure and simple. And maggs is a whiny little girl who cant take criticism or any harsh comments. I have had alot of coaches who were pricks, and were downright honest about the way I played etc, these are MUCH better than coaches who are "players" coaches and downright lie to you. Look at Baker on the northside, in my opinion, I would rather play for Ozzie. LaRusa is another manager who is a huge prick, seems like he has some success.
  3. I keep hearing from others that this team is not winning on anything but hr's again. I keep pointing out this one very important fact. 2004 MB Loaiza JG Schoenweis ? 2005 MB Freddy Count Duque JG it makes such a huge difference.
  4. Nice to win while manufacturing runs and not hitting bombs. I like the versatility.
  5. his release point is messed up, holding on to the frisbee too long
  6. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) Does that mean Shingo coming in to close.. :headshake Im glad you found a new person to hate...gives your life some meaning huh
  7. Joe belted that one, man he is swinging a nice bat
  8. Bad move by Carl batting Lefty. BTW, why couldnt willie wait until SPODS stole 2nd to bunt. Bad play by willie
  9. QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) Looking at our team right now, I would say our most pressing need would be a closer.. we need someone who is going to be THE man to come in and nail the game down.. I honestly want Jenks to be that man, but if its someone else, whatever... Im just tired of us having a committee every season.. We need a damn closer who is going to be the guy we turn to, not maybe you one day or you the next.. ONE GUY!!! I agree, thats kinda would i meant about our bullpen. I think that if Jenks could be a closer, then our bullpen would be set. I would like a better lefty, but I seriously think Cotts needs a little more time developing another pitch. I seriously envision Anderson, Sweeney and Spods as our outfield of the future. With A-row maybe in there as well. Maybe im a bit off base, but I really think those two guys are going to be studs.
  10. I disagree with your post. I think that our main objective is going to be building our team from the minor league system. Its hard to deny that Brian Anderson may be ready for the bigs next year. I think that its not too far off to think that Dye may be DH'ing a little bit while Anderson fills in the outfield. I still think that Crede is gone and Fields will be up. Also there is a possibilty that our bullpen may also be filled in with a few new guys as well. All in all, I look forward to rebuilding from the ground up in 2007.
  11. can some get a photoshop pic of dusty and the holy water
  12. 2 sox games and make the trip to watch the Dodgers vs the twins.
  13. Im sure the illegal electronic pulses that went through his knee did no damage to any vital organs..........
  14. I have been thinking long and hard about what is different with Jon this year. We all know he isnt going to wni 20 games. BUt he seems to have alot of things together including what pitch to throw in what count, and which pitches will give him ground balls to which batter. Im not sure if anybody has suggested it yet, but I think alot of his development goes to the man who has caught him through this year. I know Widger caught last night, but I believe that alot of the strategy behind his pitching is AJ. I think that AJ taught him a couple of situational tips that has led to a more effective Jon. There is a reason why he is throwing ground balls more often, and is making good pitchers pitches in certain situations. I think AJ's effect is felt more than at the plate.
  15. Apparently they are talking surgery for Maggs. Sounds like something went horribly wrong in the offseason. He can t run for extended periods of time, and is exhausted after running the bases. Sounds like you got what you paid for when you had illegal surgery.
  16. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) please, i despise kerry wood as much as most, but garland has thrown 3 games this year. dont forget he had a 4.8 ERA last year. hopefully hes turning things around but dont say stupid things just to bash the cubs f*** the cubs. Great game by Jon, nothing short of dominating. I will eat my words on this one. I thought he would get knocked around.
  17. They are doing nothing but b****ing on their site about how we suck, and its too early, and when Frank gets back we are done etc. I have never seen so much b****ing when their team blew alot of opportunities.
  18. I disagree, I think tonight is the night to really bet on the over. I think that the RISP average of the Tigers is going to get us, considering we let runners get on constantly. And I think that this team will figure out ledezma and score a few runs on him as well. I think this will be a slugfest, and possibly might break our first game win streak.
  19. can we just close this thread, what a worthless read. Uh OH Bye Bye
  20. White Sox mixing and matching closers It's been a rough month for closers, from Mariano Rivera's problems against Boston to Trevor Hoffman's opening day loss to Mike Adams's blown save against the Dodgers Tuesday in Milwaukee. We can't be surprised, then, that the team with the best record in the American League doesn't have a one-size-fits-all closer early in the season. The Chicago White Sox are 13 games into the season and already Ozzie Guillen, their manager, has had three different relievers save games for him, including left-hander Damaso Marte, who got the last two outs in the 3-1 victory over Minnesota Tuesday night. Shingo Takatsu, the Chicago closer at the end of last season, is off to a terrible start, having allowed four homers and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings, while somehow managing to convert four of his five save chances. As a result, Guillen has been mixing and matching, and on different days, different guys have been on the mound at the end. Dustin Hermanson, pitching very well early, has two saves; Marte's save was his first. I didn't watch Tuesday's game, but in reviewing the play-by-play, Guillen's willingness to make adjustments is evident. After Luis Vizcaino pitched a scoreless seventh and Hermanson did the same in the ninth, and with the White Sox leading, 3-0, Guillen sent the right-handed Takatsu out to work the ninth. The Twins had switch-hitting Nick Punto due to lead off, with the right-handed hitting Shannon Stewart and Jason Bartlett scheduled to follow. Punto grounded out, but Stewart doubled. Matt LeCroy pinch-hit for Bartlett and singled, driving home Stewart. The left-handed Joe Mauer was due to hit. That was it for Takatsu; the left-handed Marte was summoned. Mauer popped out, Terry Tiffee grounded out. Ballgame, with Orlando Hernandez getting the victory. The White Sox are the only team with a double-digit victory total, and they've got a bullpen ERA of 5.08. Maybe that's the way it's going to be this season.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) How does Shingo fix the problem? IIRC, last year, he was getting hitters to chase pitches out of the zone. This year, they seem to be taking more of those pitches and forcing him to throw strikes, when he does, they are making better contact. I also noticed the Twins hitters seem to be timing the frisbee a little bit better, what do you guys see? I think you are wrong. The reason that Shingo was getting guys to chase pitches is because he was throwing his breaking ball for strikes last year. This year there is sideways break on his fribee instead of dropping into the zone. He needs to throw all his pitches for strikes, and then they will chase it out of the zone. Right now they are all waiting on his fastball, which is the only pitch that is going for a strike.
  22. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) As for Pods getting thrown out at home twice...at least we are aggressive. There will be a few times where that run will score and it may mean the game. Cotts > Wunsch because he can spot start and actually pitch a WHOLE inning, unlike Wunsch who was a lefty specialist. Kenny made some good moves, Ozzie has this team playing like a team, and they will start hitting. Every player goes through slumps, but speed, pitching and defense can pull a team through player's slumps. Effort wins. I agree with the fact that its good that they are pushing the pace. Does anyone know why the Angels are always so good. They push the pace of the game. Even if they are up by a few runs, someone is always trying to steal, or advance on a lazy throw. The key to this team is how aggressive we are going to be. I would rather have us being thrown out than not try at all. We need to make the pace of the game our own.
