  2. Gooch is a much better breaking ball hitter than fastball hitter.
  3. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) Crede still has a higher avg than Rowand. The whole bottom of our order is a mess. But A-row will come around and hit 300, while crede will come around and hit 220
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) If are rotation holds up in July, and is looking strong, A 3 bagger will be brought in at the deadline. a very good point, but it will be temp, Josh Fields will be brought up next year. The org is very high on him.
  5. even mlb.com hates crede Joe Crede grounds out softly, shortstop Alex Cora to first baseman Ben Broussard.
  6. Since when is Milwood an extreme ground ball pitcher????
  7. its not even like milwood is making good pitches, they are right there. The guys need to figure out which pitch to sit on.
  8. fox sports Ohio always comes in choppy
  9. being extra careful with Crisp here
  10. IM not trying to Bash Crede or say get rid of him right now. I just think that his time on this club has passed. Maybe he will do better somewhere else, but as far as I am concerned, im eager to watch him go at the end of the season. We havent really given anyone else a chance to win the position, and I think some competition may make or break his career. Whether its fields, Ozuna or Uribe, I think someone needs to step up and claim the position.
  11. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Before you start backing a guy to bash another, don't you think it is important to know just a littttttttttttle bit about him. Let's take a look shall we. Ozuna 2000 Marlins 14G 24AB 2001 NOPE 2002 Marlins 34G 47AB 2003 Rockies 17G 40AB 2004 NOPE 2005 White Sox Well, you go ahead and start Pablo Ozuna at third, let's see how that works out for you. Me, I'll take Joe Crede. :headshake All of those games doesnt add up to a full major league season. Playing sparingly and being bumped up from the minors does not a season of major league experience make. Joe has been up for years now, and has shown no signs of improving, yet has showing sigs of regress. Pablo also was out for full seasons due to injury, and we know that recovering from season ending inuries does not happen overnight. I understand trying to back up someone on the board but putting stats like 24 AB as proof of his major league experience just seems not needed. I personally think that Joe is another one of those players that isnt going to make it. If you put Pablo in Joe's spot, playing every day no matter what, I think he will succeed where Joe has failed. So far all Pablo has netted in his career is 2 GREAT players for other teams, Juan Pierre and Edgar Renteria, I think its time for him to get a chance to show what he can do.
  12. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) How long has Crede been at the big league level? This is his sixth season, yet, you are willing to give Pablo Ozuna a starting job in his fifth because he "is prime for a breakout." Gimme a break. :headshake Ozuna's first major league season, Crede's what??? You killed your own point :headshake
  13. QUOTE(ptatc @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Does the lineup need more contact with no power potential (Ozuna) or more power with potential for contact (Crede) right now? A question for the ages. Basically you know what you have in Ozuna, a utility player who may get hot. The jury is out on Crede. Leave him in for one more year then get an upgrade if needed. Being that this is his 5th pro season, I think Ozuna is prime for a breakout. When he was traded for Edgar Renteria, someone thought he was going to turn out. I am one of those supporters. Not to be biased, but I am always in the frame of mind of not wanting to keep around a player who is going to leave the team anyway, and is basically not even playing for a contract.
  14. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) I support any Sox player even though at times I too get frustrated with Crede. Anyone who joins an anti-group against a particular player but does not suggest a viable alternative is not a real fan of the team imo. what anti group are you speaking of?
  15. QUOTE(ptatc @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) That's true considering he is 30 years old and has so much major league experience Joe is a good defensive 3B and has good power. He will be gone when he becomes a FA because of Boras. I'm in What good is major league experience when you dont produce, just like Joe. Power is nothing when you can make contact with the ball in the first place, and his defense has started to lack as well. Ozuna was always touted as a great prospect as well, and he makes good contact, plays good defense and is speedy on the base paths. I think he is a better option at this point. And when Joe is gone after the season, that is one less hole in our lineup
  16. QUOTE(beck72 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) A "support group" is different than a "fan club"----but the Crede "group" is a little tongue in cheek. Feel free to start your own club or group though. Dont need to. Crede will not be on the roster next year. He doesnt produce, he has an ass of an agent, and Fields will be ready. The team is better off with Ozuna playing third this season anyway.
  17. while you are at it, include Jon Rauch, Joe Borchard, and Danny Wright into your "never will be a good player" fan club.
  18. I dont care what they are down the stretch. He is a force in the post, especially in the East. With him improving upon this year, he can be the #2 center in the East, which sounds good to me. We need Eddy, I expect them to re-sign him after this season.
  19. Wanna know why Iguchi has him figured out?? Cause he can sit on a change up, unlike what Paul just did.
  20. BMAC vs santana on sunday?? sounds good to me
  21. those who have tivo, check out how a-row was closer to the plate this time.
