  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 10:18 AM) I hope you are right, but this could be a case of the Sox blowing so much smoke up our collective asses. True, but looking at video of Frank, I think he looks more in shape this year that the past, so I believe in his work ethic. I think part of the reason that he may be in a hurry to get back is the positive press that has come from the steroid hearings. Now everyone knows that he is a model of someone who hasnt juiced, and has been HOF-worthy without it. Now I think he knows if he is successful this season, he may not only generate a paycheck but be thought of in a more positive light.
  2. im definatley looking forward to some strong drinks at the safe house on saturday night!!!!
  3. on sportsnite they said his calf was back to its regular size, and Walker said he was killing the ball, he just cant run at full speed yet. This offseason he still worked on his upper body with A-row. Back when he injured his tricep he was not able to work out his upper body at all which hurt his muscle memory and his fast-twitch muscle fiber that is used at the plate. I think he will be strong this year, and will have more RBI's than we think.
  4. tonight baseball tonight is supposed to be doing the NL and AL central
  5. club level on the third base side, dont have the tix with me though, I know they are supposed to be decent, thanks to the white sox for the free tickets for all season ticket holders!!!
  6. best purchase I ever made was an 83 authentic fisk jersey-expensive but worth every penny
  7. QUOTE(diehard chisox 1427 @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) I have a nice situation. I go to school at Marquette and Miller Park is minutes away, probably 10 minutes. So I plan on going back to campus afterwards and partying. gonna hook us up with some college girls then?????
  8. I think the players that we had have a large part in our HR numbers, not just the park. We have had a tremendous amount of right handed power hitters in our lineup during this homerun binge. It could be a skewed number
  9. wow When joe hits em, its always no doubters, I wish he could do that for line drives more often
  10. Garland loves the big inning, lets see what else happens here
  11. possibly the worst reason to hijack a thread would be to talk about wrestling.......... :headshake
  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) The Wyndham is walking distance from all the Water Street bars, about 3 blocks away. Edit: if finances are an issue and you don't need the lap of luxury, try the Hotel Wisconsin on 2nd St. It's an older hotel but it's clean and it does the job. It's maybe 6 blocks to all the bars but definitely walkable and easy to get to. thanks Jim, I will definatley take that into consideration. Im looking forward to my first visit to Miller Park, and the large amount of high-lifes that im going to consume as a result. Anyone planning on tailgating????
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Yes, agree, that's one big reason. This is another reason why I wanted them (and still want) them to get a few veteran guys to start at AAA. I know that's not easy to do. But let's face it, Contreras and Hernandez are question marks. Contreras is not easing any concerns with his spring performance either. Lack of talent is one thing, but when it's a "between the ears" problem ... personally, I have less patience for that. What they ought to do is tell him, "we are calling this game, you are not to shake anything off, let Pierzynski do the thinking. You just pitch. Period." I think they are one more bad outing away from doing exactly that. He does not deserve the rope he's been given thus far. agree, take a hint from our best pitcher, MB, he wont shake any signs off, he just wheels and throws. It apparently works well.
  14. thanks for the info, Im still trying to decide if we are getting a hotel or not, looking at the Wyndam. Heard there were bars close by
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) Give me one reason why some of us should believe that Contreras will be able to pitch well for a whole season? And don't tell me about his 2003, because he only pitched 70 innings, the equivelant to 10-11 starts... Never said he would pitch well, I just think he would pitch better than Diaz. Give him at least one season in a WS uniform, and then we can jump ship.
  16. Now you cant start an argument about having felix diaz over contreras. The sky must be falling if you think the JC's performance in ST is a indicator of how he will do in the season, and make you think Diaz is a better option. I mean how can you be jumping ship because of ST and ONE tribune article. Its starting to look like the north side on these message boards.
  17. where is everyone staying in Milwaukee???
  18. I think the best part of the article was when he suggested we move the fences back. We have a team that wants to hit doubles, and a ballpark that doesnt allow it......
  19. I was at the game last night, it was awesome!!! Curry is unstopable against these guys
  20. wow, Freddy hitting 100 mph on the speed gun
  21. I agree, the game is going good
  22. I sent him a great e-mail, I hope it gets published
