  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:33 PM) Ok...and you are saying I am the one that is strange? Well yeah but I still love you shack
  2. Not many things are worse than naked old men in locker rooms. Seriously why? The other day a dude was taking phone calls for 45 butt naked leaning against the sink
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:10 PM) 39 You old bastard
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 09:53 PM) Maybe this is a better question for Rock Raines or another "insider." Is it fair to say that LaRoche, Sale, Eaton, Shark (last year), Danks, Duke and perhaps Lawrie are part of one group or clique? Where is Abreu? Is he the leader of the Hispanic players or more of a Konerko/Dye/Thome "lead by example" type? Where does Todd Frazier fit in? Rodon? Robertson? Quintana? Pretty obviously, there's a new group emerging with Rollins, Avila, Jackson, Navarro...(and god knows about Latos). Along with the lethargic/passive clubhouse environment, ONE positive development would be having two veteran catchers in Avila/Navarro who are stronger, more natural leaders than Tyler Flowers. Of course, they have to stay healthy and be productive or they will end up on the outside looking in eventually... And why has Rick Hahn been so quiet and "behind the scenes" this week? Deliberate strategy on the part of the front office to deflect all the attention to KW, like Ozzie used to do all the time by creating his firestorms? My inside info has been severely limited as far as front office stuff but I still know several players. I've sent out many PMs on this topic. The leadership baton has been taken and run with by several of the new players. The old guard may not be that happy about it but that's reality. This team needed stronger personalities and they got them, and those guys wanted a more "boys club" atmosphere. Personally I waited until this story came out before reached out because I didn't believe it at first. But let's say more than a handful of players don't care that LaRoche is gone. We have a new regime and I believe they (Mgmt) likes it that way.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) If Eaton really didn't like the kid he would be the greatest actor of all time. Tweeting is surely acting
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) So this one said new players stepped up and let KW have it. Eaton loves the Drake, Publicly he does.
  7. I enjoyed watching Purdue lose. Especially because the guy next to me had them elite eight
  8. Obviously this thread is still going. 1. We all agree that we are happy he is gone. 2. The leadership dynamic is different 3. The guys who are leading will bring this team together. 4. The "leaders" last year are now in the backseat. I'm ok with everything.
  9. Todd Frazier laughs at LaRoche's production

    Having a baby

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 09:40 AM) Ew kids. Jk, congrats bmags. Yeah its weird for awhile
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) Agreed. I have no problem with how any of this has happened. Seems like there wasn't much of a way around any of this. Like a few others have said, this would be more interesting if LaRoche walking away wasn't a good thing for the organization. That's the funny part. We are literally all happy about this.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:31 PM) One thing I don't like hearing is Hahn and Ventura disagreed with Kenny's approach. Before anything was said, JR should have made sure it was a united front. Classic good cop bad cop there. I wouldn't dwell on that.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:27 PM) The Braves went to the playoffs 15 years in a row with Booby Cox banning kids. Get rid of all of them. And music.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) I remember being at Soxfest and Hahn was gushing about LaRoche, saying they do so much homework on him, how he was the closest thing to Jim Thome in the clubhouse. It seems odd they would miss that he had his kid around him for 4 years in Washington. I do agree, he does seem to march to a different beat than most. He's a great guy and so is his kid. Probably why they thought telling him to ratchet is down a bit would have better received.
  15. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:17 PM) This guy, I take it? Not who I was thinking of but look at the new guys they brought in. Frazier Lawrie Narvarro Avila Rollins That's a lot of voices taking over for the quiet clubhouse outside of Adam Eatin before. Also notice that the best player on the team has yet be spoken to.
  16. Take a look at who has tweeted or complained publicly. It's the old guard of the team that led a mediocre effort the last year or two. No who isn't responding. Who complained. Whose lockers are near LaRoches?
  17. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:01 PM) If the Sox are still mired in mediocrity next July, I hope that Sale is the first one out the door in the fire sale. I won't miss him. I would but he's not the leader of the team. He's well respected but he isn't out there every day. It's pretty easy to see who has taken over with this team.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 1m1 minute ago Sale told Williams, unequivocally, to get out of the clubhouse and stay out, per a source. Williams acknowledges meeting was passionate. 2/2 No offense to Chris but the leadership baton isn't with him these days even though he's well respected. Like it or not the Sox brought in new strong voices who have taken over
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 11:51 AM) He has his kid out there all the time. Even brings him to press conferences, which I guess is considered cute and not annoying to the press. Right, so hes around under 50% of the time, or otherwise what LaRoche was offered
  20. QUOTE (Baron @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 11:49 AM) Kyle Long posted similar s*** yesterday like the kid was being banned for good Lots of players who dont even have children seem to have opinions. Of course you dont hear from the other side of the argument because nobody in their right mind wants to speak out against having children in the locker room because a bunch of trolls would immediately equate that to being a bad parent or anti-family.
  21. QUOTE (ChicagoHeel @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) WOW @BR_WhiteSox 3m3 minutes ago http://ChicagoBreakingSports.com - Derrick Rose on Adam LaRoche-son saga: 'That's devastating': http://ble.ac/1R1dkOL Cant wait until Derrick explains the concept of gang bang to his kid in the locker room
  22. Do these players not even entertain offers from teams that ban families and children in the clubhouse?
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 11:37 AM) Yes, necklaces and kids, pretty much the same thing. Banning and "toning it down" are the same thing as well. Point is things change with ballclubs/jobs and if you dont like it then fine, go somewhere else. Next time get it in writing. I would never accept someone's word for something in business.
