  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 07:38 AM) YouTube shooter has Arabic heritage. She was upset that YouTube demonetized her animal rights videos. Can't wait for the right wing thoughts on this... They already started yesterday.
  2. I see the right wing trolls are saying its a muslim woman.
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 03:32 PM) Goddamn that's expensive. I pay like 40$ a month for my gym membership, but I'm not into taking classes or anything. FFC by me is over 120/month so its pretty comparable.
  4. Whatever, as long as our clubhouse chemistry stays good I dont give two s***s what other teams think of it.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 01:52 PM) There?€™s an OrangeTheory right outside work. How much does that cost? Depends on how many classes you want to do and what stage that particular studio is in. I was a pre-construction member so I pay 129/month (usually is 159) for unlimited classes and access to any club in the country (I go when I travel). Basic (4 per month) is 60 bucks, and I believe 8 is 100. I would recommend for new people 2-3 classes per week at first.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 11:52 AM) It's funny. There's a bunch of people there, but it feels like it's just you and the trainer. The room is darkened with an orange hue. The other people simply serve as motivation for me to keep going/push harder/go all out in a bit more impressive fashion. Yeah, to each his/her own. I have definitely found something I'm enjoying! The 3g's can get a little crowded, or the new years/ pre summer people. But as long as its not crazy packed I find you can get some room.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 01:15 PM) Foam Rollers are my refuge. Ive moved to the extremely firm plastic ones and its still my favorite thing ever. The hand roller for my calves is magical.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 10:31 AM) I was wondering the same thing... plus there was zero hype or talk about Nova during the dance. I know UMBC and Loyola were great stories and all, but Nova just destroyed the field and dominated the field like I can't remember. I think people tend to forget the top team in the dance because of all the upsets that were happening, but they were pretty much the best team in the country most of the year. They were next level in the tourney.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 10:27 AM) I don't know what is meant by rolling, but normal stretching routine hasn't changed anything. Foam rolling. Have you been introduced to that yet? Its life changing. My legs and back wouldnt be the same without it.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 09:58 AM) I’ve heard good things about OT...I just don’t like other people enough to workout in a group setting like that. Everyone is motivated by different things, however. I’m still plugging away on the bike. Hoping to get back into some circuit training sometime soon. Also going to get into outdoor riding when things settle down around here. My favorite is when the class is nearly empty, I try and avoid the completely full classes. Sometimes it does get a bit much, especially for someone like myself that gets after it and sweats like crazy.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 10:02 AM) Since someone revived this... For the past week I seem to have bizarrely lost 10% of the strength in my right arm tricep. It doesn't hurt, I just all of a sudden in one arm can't lift as much as I previously could. I've dropped about 40 lb on bench and tricep overhead presses - like the difference between 200 and 160. I have no idea why. Bicep exercises are normal, it only hits me as weak on a select few exercises Any guesses? My uneducated guess is a nerve issue. Have you been rolling and stretching? I get weakness like that in my left shoulder sometimes and it just need rest, stretching and back rolling.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 07:42 AM) Alright, starting this thread up for one specific reason. I am obsessed with OrangeTheory Fitness. This is exactly what I've needed to get better, more varied workouts. Shut your brain off for an hour, do what you're told, burn 800-1,000 calories. This is my new therapy. Yes, you've joined my cult. Its addictive as f***. I've been a member for going on 3 years. Its amazing. The endorphins keep me sane. My goal from now until June 1 is single digit body fat. My trainer gave me a plan, lets see what happens
  13. And it was a massive step up. And the score reflected it. Phew
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 04:28 PM) Ultimately social media is not good or healthy. It will be interesting to see what happens with it over time, especially as more studies are done and as more linkage comes out related to increased suicide rates (especially in youths), etc. There are pluses to social media, but my personal opinion is there are a heck of a lot of negatives. Of course that comes from someone who largely stays away from social media (so I might be a bit biased / jaded). From someone in the tech security world, its better to put next to nothing on social media. The people who decide to post and argue on facebook is really one of the most moronic things you can do.
  15. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 04:53 PM) Thanks for sharing those. As a raised Catholic, now agnostic, I had no idea how much the narrative around Mary Magdalene has changed. Really interesting stuff. I just finished reading it. After 2,000 years of one interpretation its kind of swayed in the last decade. Thats pretty wild.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 03:55 PM) Do some reading. Your knowledge is outdated. Recent Pope's have completely disowned those ideas, falling much more in line with the actual biblical text. http://www.uscatholic.org/articles/200806/...magdalene-27585 http://www.osservatoreromano.va/en/news/mary-magdalene which version of the biblical text? My knowledge is definitely out of date, however there are many version of the canon of Mary Magdalene. I was confirmed as a Methodist and then converted to Catholicism and both interpretations of the bible were very different.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 03:45 PM) Even the Catholics have apologized for their portrayal of Magdeline as a prostitute. Huh? The entire basis of her story is Jesus expelling demons from her.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 02:47 PM) This is a general comment and not a defense in this Fox case at all, but the swiftness with which social media outrage can destroy a person is scary. Every case is different and some are very justifiable, but say one thing or get caught on cell phone video in a compromising situation, and within 24 hours you can lose everything. Employment terminated, public name scorned, the works. And I don't know what you can do to get it back cause it will always be available via a simple Google search. It's crazy, especially with the react now, justify later mentality that social media helps instigate. Many of these people have used social media in their own favor to gather hoards of their (for her) alt right base that doesnt agree with the norms. You live by the sword, you die by the sword.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 01:43 PM) Are Catholics considered evangelical? Just asking. Haven't heard either way. As a Catholic who tries to abide by many/most of the rules, I was thrilled with the show. Great music. Great acting and I like when the story of the death/resurrection of Christ gets told so people can see it and not mock us for believing in it. I can picture the Joy Behar's and Bill Maher's watching that and being furious that believers are enjoying the show. I love the fact the cast included people of all races. That was cool. No. Catholics are probably considered outsiders by the evangelical base as they were originally the type of immigrant population that was oppressed in this country. And I dont think anyone, including non-believers are upset about that being shown. Its been on TV before, its been a long running show in many cities across the country. It was f***ing awesome. You dont have to believe in the story of Christ to accept that its still a great story with a good message and it super entertaining. Thats the entire point of the musical.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 10:02 AM) If I was a CEO, I wouldn't want my business associated with someone who rips a 17 year old, who was hiding from an active shooter in his school, for not getting into a few colleges, Throws up the Nazi salute at the RNC, and felt it was her responsibility to out gay people when she was in college. Laura Ingraham maybe a worse person then Coulter. I had to board her radio show back in the day and it was a miserable 3 hours a day. Free speech doesnt mean it comes without consequences... Her vacation is about to become permanent.
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 10:25 AM) Because it makes Judas a sympathetic figure and shows Jesus romantically with a prostitute. I mean, isn't that a pretty universal interpretation of whats in the bible? She WAS made a saint. lot's of the pushback last night was based on things like the skin color of the cast, the tattoos (Oreilly), and the music which was completely the same as before.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 1, 2018 -> 11:05 PM) I'm glad NBC had the guts to air Jesus Christ Superstar on Easter. A step in the right direction for believers IMO. The entire evangelical base was super angry about JCS. Its been around for 40 years and was pretty universally hated by fundamental christians and was being bashed by the same people on the internet last night. I watched it and it was phenomenal. This is a pretty moronic statement. You not only have entire channels calling Muslims crazy and evil, but you have the president echoing the same exact views. Let me know when he gets taken off the air.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 06:24 AM) Obviously not confident but anything can happen, right? Guys? It will definitely be a massive step up in opposition than they have seen this tourney. But anything can happen
