QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 04:47 PM) That's your response?! Last year Bowman capitalized on the Kane injury by adding Antoine Vermette, or did you already forget? The Blackhawks were stacked going into last postseason. They aren't now. Toews is dying on the vine, Hossa can't score, Shaw can play, but he's a third line guy that can't finish on the first line. Which defenseman gives you enough confidence that we have at least 2 solid defensive pairings? We're seeing flashes now, but everyone here is all about "regular season doesn't matter". Nope. Don't improve the team. Doesn't work. We've never had to before. And don't be critical of the almighty Blackhawks because we're already engraving the 2016 Cup. Uh oh, are the gloves off?

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 04:36 PM) Okay, seriously. What is your deal? The Toews line is a shell of what it was with Saad on it. And the defense runs three players deep. You can mock me, but feel free to contribute to the discussion. Edit: I changed my mind. Don't make any effort to improve the club. Rock says we don't need to. What discussion? All you do is talk about how the Hawks arent as good as some xbox team you invented in your head. Its hilarious. I bet you were super "comfortable" with the roster last year. Nice edit, i've actually said many times where I think there are holes, but saying they arent a contender like you've said is hysterical.

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 04:54 AM) They should be okay in the playoffs, but they're really two major pieces short of what I would consider "Comfortable" LOL, ok.

Pretty sure Tampa wants Gase for Winston

Two three letter user names arguing with each other is super confusing.

2'nd place in the west. Not a contender though, right?

QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 08:00 PM) I don't think there always has to be a winner & a loser. I think this is an old school 1-1 trade where both teams fill a huge need. Columbus gave up a guy they were scratching for a future top D man who is 21. I'd say they did pretty good.

In the bonus with 11 min left in first half. Averaging over a foul a min per team. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) He should be fined 20k each time he takes a 3 that isn't within a few second of the shot clock expiring. No reason for him to take those shots other than hero ball. I totally agree with this.

Raines is the second best lead off hitter of all time, its a crime he isnt in yet

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 10:04 AM) Nice thanks for taking the time Rock. Did you have a preference of the three. And what would you guess it takes that the Sox are comfortable spending that gets Cespedes in black and white? I think the Sox are more inclined to go four years on him which is required at least. I dont think they were ever really serious about Gordon.
-
QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 09:15 AM) Rock I know you don't get the same inside information as you used to, however you've always had a good feel for the way the FO operates. What would you put our chances of signing Cespedes at. Assuming it's going to cost atleast a $20 AAV? I personally feel like Gordon was the top OF prize on the market and Gordon's deal makes it MORE likely the Sox get him.
-
Gordon went for less than expected, thats good for the Sox.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 09:56 PM) You'd think you went to Miami or something Also why Indiana was on my short list. Love them.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 10:15 PM) Completely agree. When he's going to the rim, it's like he's a different player. Teams just need to back off on him and let him take that jumper. Thats what they used to do when he was the entire offense, the thing now is he can now pass and move and drive again, which is what he should become.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) Total gimmick, but a killer one. It really let's these guys show off their skills much more in the spirit of the game than a SO does. It helps the Hawks are amazing at it.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) I wish he would go pro. Love him ad his performance, but take the money. A lot can happen. I'm sure he'll get insurance, etc, but just take the opportunity and study in the off-season and wrap up in another few years. You can still reach that accomplishment while going pro and getting your payday now. I hope he kicks butt and keeps his stock where it is (if not pushes it higher). Spot on, the odds of his stock getting higher arent that great. These kids can go back to school for free anytime they want. If you can go, go. -
Why do they bring back these retreads in the Bachelor, that Amber girl is beat up

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 02:17 PM) Desmond King coming back for his senior year at Iowa. His mom wants him to be the first graduate of the family. Now if Drew Ott can somehow get a medical redshirt, Iowa may be pissing off Cowherd again next season. Wow. No reason why he couldnt go pro and get his degree in the offseason. Dangerous game hes playing there. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) and they plan on hiring a coach, THEN their GM Worst run franchise in sports.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 11:01 AM) I actually really like this move. Paul DePodesta is a smart guy and isn't only analytics based. I could see Chip Kelly working there now actually..... They have a lawyer and a baseball guy now running their football team. Such a Browns thing to do.
