  1. The fact that Ross didnt win is criminal. I'd like to see him on an all star season, he was masterful
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 08:52 AM) Yup. I hate everything about it. Week early is dumb and it being in NY is even dumber. Luckily it sounds like they arent doing it again. The shorter season was awful and the early tournament is even worse. The cherry on top is NOBODY is going to be in the crowd.

    2018 catch-all

My credit card got hammered with fraud charges this weekend for Emirates air. Thousands of dollars.
  4. I've got Michigan winning it to be honest. I think they are the hottest at the moment.
  5. QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 07:41 AM) Well, he’s 75. Having Madigan in as the speaker is one factor, but the Illinois constitution also restricts doing anything as well. Hopefully that can get amended and there’s a way to ensure new employees, current employees and retirees of the teacher’s retirement system can get some sort of retirement benefit, but with age cutbacks and with a greater emphasis on 403(b)s while still contributing to the pension system. It will take a small miracle, but it would be nice. Illinois politics across the board are f***ing terrible. Chicago is corrupt down to the alderman level. I dont think there is a cure.
  6. Good for you man. I volunteer with all sorts of kids across the spectrum and I understand the challenge, but you are doing the right thing.
  7. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 09:01 PM) I don’t live there but I say vote union, vote teachers, vote pensions. Just go down with the ship and vote D across the board. It’s too late for moderation, cutbacks or austerity of any kind. So f*** it- blaze of glory. Its to late for the pensions IMO. Madigan is basically Bill Wirtz, we need him to ride off into the graveyard sunset before anything can possibly get done.
  8. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 05:10 PM) At least here in Texas there are already conceal carry classes that could be used as the training. I've taken and completed the training. I wouldnt feel comfortable arming myself to defend hundreds of children in a school setting with that amount of training.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 01:57 PM) Actually it makes it much easier, as those who are qualified and trusted are failing. So the narrative is people who havent trained would be better suited to doing what professionals couldnt do? Makes total sense
  10. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Feb 24, 2018 -> 11:42 PM) Instead of arming teachers, why not let the retired vets do the job? I bet they’d be way more than happy to each take a day per week protecting their community schools. Then we honor them and s*** and it’s all good. With what money? What’s the selection process? Will we finally provide adequate mental health care for them before trusting them to be armed guards in school? Will we then have them guard concerts, movie theaters and upper educational institutions as well?
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2018 -> 05:53 PM) The police and the FBI missed all kinds of calls on this guy. Then the police stood outside while it happened. It makes it a whole lot tougher to sell the narrative that we should leave it up to the properly trained authorities when they aren't really effective themselves. It makes it even harder to run with the narrative of trusting unqualified people with a gun as the means of stopping something like this.
  12. Grand total of 55 seconds in the bonus. That’s nuts.
  13. And thats why Carlson wouldnt let him actually read the question.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 11:07 AM) Salty. Louisville got busted for strippers, UNC didnt get s*** for years of academic fraud. There is clearly a line there.
  15. Can I say f*** Jay Paterno without even reading it? Because, f*** him.
  16. My first thought is that bball players come pretty cheap.
  17. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 10:17 AM) Honestly, the thought has crossed my mind about how a teacher would react if forced into the situation of having to actually shoot one of his/her students to stop a threat. I think many would struggle with knowing they took the life of one of their own students. Even if it did save the life of others. We'd see many more unwarranted shootings than one actually stopping a mass murderer. But it would mean probably 10 million more guns being sold which makes everyone happy.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 08:59 AM) The NRA used to be for responsible gun ownership, which their are millions of in this country, but they fact they don't give an inch on anything, makes them f***ing assholes in my mind. Their public relations sucks because they have Dana Loesch on TV ripping media, They hold gun rallies at the worst times, and don't realize what the forefathers had in mind when the amendment is written. They're close minded and greedy. The NRA gets money for increasing gun sales. Nothing more, nothing less.
  19. Hey look, a senile old man playing to a crowd of white supremacists.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 07:28 AM) Izzo is so retiring after the season, isn't he I dont know if a 400 dollar payment to a mother from an agent is going to sink him.
  21. Yeah but was any of that money spent on tattoos or strippers?
  22. Carlson of course didnt let the kid actually read the question, because it didnt fit what they are trying to frame.
  23. Trump just ran with a debunked conspiracy theory about the town hall last night. He’s that dumb
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 22, 2018 -> 06:05 PM) My sister teaches special ed. Her first day on the job, she was told depending on the day a few of her students could stick a pencil in their eye or try to stick one in hers. She has thus far avoided any trouble in her years at the school. Her packing heat would make me a nervous brother.. The police definitely don’t want more guns in the school. The only people who do are be people who sell f***ing guns.
