QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 05:27 PM) I'm not even thinking about his career right now. Usually these updates start talking about movement of his extremities and recovery, but it's all just been that he switched hospitals or had an operation. Hopefully it's nothing that will affect his everyday abilities off the field. Seems like its a stabilization fusion, which means he should be ok off of the field. At least, im hoping. He's an awesome dude.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 03:35 PM) The silence about the injury is a bit concerning, every update is so limited and vague. He had to have surgery, its looking like his career is over.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 02:25 PM) If this would cause so much upheaval, why would this unanimously be voted on by the Senate? Genuinely curious. Because the waiver keeps getting exercised over and over and you dont want to be the one senator who "loves muslims" -

Looks like we are temporarily pulling some of our developers out of Tel Aviv for the next month or so. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 11:21 AM) Jenks, My thought is that the big test will be if large investors try to pull actual money out. If there is any problem getting actual currency from the exchange it could immediately create a crisis in terms of confidence in bitcoin. I think thats exactly whats going to happen. Its going to be a mad rush once the big guys pull out.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 01:46 PM) He resigned because Schumer convinced him it was better for the party, and the rest of his colleagues had turned against him. That's what politics is. It's a court of public opinion. Once you've lost it, it's hard to get it back. Yep. Even if Roger Stone orchestrated the Tweeden thing, there was enough smoke to make him have to go away. And we should also see every single settlement payment publicly available for the members of congress IMO. They are public servants and that should not be something that is private.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 10:25 AM) Bitcoin can process a couple hundred transactions globally simultaneously, and that will only get worse. It's an inherently deflationary "currency" based on converting electricity into bitcoins. It'll never be a major transaction source because it's intentionally limited in usefulness by the underlying technology. It already wastes as much electricity a day as the entire country of Denmark uses. In a couple of years, if it continues on the same pace, it'll waste more than the entire US to produce nothing of actual value. It's also not insured, and completely anonymous. There is no way it doesnt crash. If it doesnt, Ill be shocked.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 09:40 AM) I can't wait until the puts come out. The crash is going to be staggering.

QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 09:21 AM) On a serious note, don't you carry? I have a permit, yes. Never have actually carried in public.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 08:56 AM) There are 10 states that will issue you a CC permit even if you're not a resident in those states. Bar fights should always end in gunfire IMO. Everyone in times square at NYE should be armed. Also if police challenge your right to a CC permit from another state, you can bring charges against said police. The NRA is running this country

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 07:14 AM) This is good news. Now I can go pretty much anywhere in the US and have both the police and local do-gooders protecting me wherever I go. America just keeps getting safer. More guns!!!!!!

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 5, 2017 -> 05:12 PM) I wouldnt even want to see it with anyone at my company. I have tickets for a 1;45 am show on Saturday. Hopefully I dont hear any spoilers on the way in. Last time as I was walking I was talking really loud so as to not hear anyone leaving, but somehow I heard "dead" and immediately thought Han Solo died. ;/ Luckily my company is based in denver otherwise the edibles I would be wolfing down would seem weird.

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Dec 5, 2017 -> 01:02 PM) This sounds encouraging https://twitter.com/malcolmnance/status/938118116596256768 Yes, but the evangelicals will be happy.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 5, 2017 -> 12:28 PM) You are looking at it the wrong way. Small rural states are over represented in the Senate and in the electoral college (much less over represented in the electoral college but the bias is there). California's population is about 12% of the USA's population. Their electoral votes represent a little over 10% of the electoral college. New York has about 6% of the country's population but only 5% of the electoral college votes. Wyoming's population is about .2% of the general population but it has about .55% of the electoral college votes and this trend holds for the lower populated states. Cook county has a larger population than 19 states.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 4, 2017 -> 07:55 PM) HATCH defends Trump endorsing Roy Moore: “I don't think he had any choice but to do that... that's the only Republican we can get down there.” Adds that “many of the things he allegedly did were decades ago.” (Via pooler @Carrasquillo) I mean, at this point its comical. Fake christians and awful people.
