QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) This Kevin storyline on Shameless better have a good payoff cuz it’s pretty lame. Seriously, what a waste of time.

Fox News currently talking about Hillary's emails, so something good is about to happen.

QUOTE (Quin @ Nov 28, 2017 -> 09:54 AM) Talked about briefly in the Dem thread, but yeah, anything James O'Keefe and Project Veritas touch is liable to be a piece of s***. ACORN, PP and CNN vids in the past, but the Washington Post clapped back with extreme source vetting. O'Keefe then posted a video of a WashPo employee basically explaining how a newsroom works because op-eds exist. This was his proof of whatever stupid thing he was trying to sell. Also worth noting, Trump (or at least his charity foundation) has donated to Veritas in the past. I saw the story where he tried to seduce a CNN reporter with a boat full of secret cameras and sex toys? WTF

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2017 -> 09:21 AM) Really? No seriously, there's a level of racist stuff that "you can't believe" this country is capable of? After the last year? On this site? Yes. I always think we are above that fray. On another note, boy that Project Veritas is corrupt as f*** huh?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 28, 2017 -> 08:02 AM) Even under the worst possible light - that Warren used some vague family stories to capitalize on some possible Cherokee ancestry - that in no way excuses Trump's insulting use of that nickname. And bringing it up in response to Trump's continued idiocy is a purely defensive reaction to obscure the point. Exactly. I can’t believe this is being used to try and excuse blatant racist remarks.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 02:08 PM) Trump was giving a speech honoring Navajo Code Talkers. He gave the speech in front of a portrait of... Andrew Jackson. He of the Indian Removal Act. Then he made a joke about Warren and Pocahantas. There has been no President in the last century who can even come close to touching the sheer stupidity and crassness of this guy. He can't be gone soon enough. This would be a fireable offense to almost anyone else on the planet. Outright racism.

QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 07:17 AM) I'm just tired of Kelly and his coordinators blowing games at the end of the season every year. Wimbush is not a starting quarterback at this point in college. He has no touch and can't think on his feet when under duress. He's gonna be a good QB IMO, just needs some time. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 12:02 AM) Stop. History of college football doesn't exist since 2008. But yeah, the last decade has been horrendous. No fan base has had it worse. The administration is killing us and is totally incompetent. But bring in the right football coach, and things change. Being the big state school in a state that is seeing an noticeable increase in high school talent, plus having several billionaire boosters and the facilities that we have, not hard to see us getting back to where we were pre-2008. UT has won its own conference only 5 times in the last 50 years. I don’t consider that top tier. -

Notice the schools you listed and their proximity to recruiting hotbeds. One doesn’t belong. -

They are morons. Spread one barely true headline and a guy doesn’t get a job. Incredible. Glad to have him probably longer term now. -

QUOTE (Sox Fan In Husker Land @ Nov 26, 2017 -> 12:43 AM) Yeah the Riley hire was a real head-scratcher. Riley was on the hot seat in Corvallis. The AD at NU at the time wanted to get as far away from Bo Pelini's personality as he could. He went on a one man search, and chose Riley. Riley was pretty much the exact opposite of Pelini personality wise, as evident by the press conference today where Riley met with the media after being fired, and shook hands with everyone there. The guy is a total class act. When Pelini was fired he held a secret meeting with the players at a Lincoln HS, where he called the AD a p*ssy and c*nt. Riley was a class act who didn't win enough games. Pelini was an embarrassment who didn't beat anyone good, or win anything worth a damn, especially once Bill Callahan's recruits left. Nebraska, after Tom Osborne retired, hired a RB Coach in Frank Solich, who was turned down by Minnesota the prior year. He failed, and ran the best program in college football at the time into the ground. They then hired a fired NFL coach in Bill Callahan. Callahan recruited well, but his DC was garbage. He failed. Nebraska then hired LSU's DC in Bo Pelini. Pelini was not wanted by any other decent schools as a head coach, due to concerns over his demeanor, lack of recruiting, and having never been a head coach. Pelini was lazy when it came to recruiting, and was content with going 9-4 every year. He failed. Nebraska then hires Mike Riley. Riley did well at Oregon St. relative to others that have been there (save for Dennis Erickson), but had plateaued at the end of his time there. He failed at Nebraska as well. Frank Solich is now at Ohio. The AD at the time (Bill Byrne) wanted to hire either Florida's DC (Bob Stoops) or UNC's head coach (Mack Brown). Bill Callahan is now with the Washington Redskins as the OL coach. The AD at the time (Steve Pederson) wanted to hire Houston Nutt. Bo Pelini is now at Youngstown St. The AD at the time (Tom Osborne) interviewed Turner Gill (Liberty/KU/Buffalo head coach), Jim Grobe, and Gary Patterson (TCU) said he just got a token interview from Osborne, but wasn't a real candidate. Mike Riley will most likely retire as he's 64. The AD at the time (Shawn Eichorst) didn't interview anyone else. Not once since Osborne retired, did Nebraska actually go out and hire a top available candidate that was wanted by other schools nationally. Frost is actually wanted nationally by Florida, Tennessee, and others. He took over 0-12 UCF, and has them 11-0 in year 2. From what I have heard from supposed "insiders" Frost is coming back to Lincoln. 7 years $30 something million. Also info coming from some writers with good ties to Nebraska football, specifically one who covered the 90s well in Lars Anderson. He worked for SI, and did the story on Lawrence Phillips after his death. Lars Anderson is getting his info that Frost is going back to Lincoln from Matt Davison. Davison is one of Frost's best friends and a former teammate. Davison is also a Nebraska radio color commentator. Recruiting is harder to Nebraska than it is to any other blue blood. There isn't a large talent pool nearby like Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio St., Oklahoma, Texas, and USC have. It is not impossible to get great players to Lincoln though. Tom Osborne proved that it's possible. Bill Callahan proved that it's possible. Mike Riley proved that it's possible. Scott Frost was a good recruiter while at Oregon. If he goes to Nebraska he should be able to bring talent in. Frost has a higher ceiling than Solich, Callahan, Pelini, or Riley. Frost calls his own plays, and actually knows what a championship culture in college looks like. He was 24-2 as a QB at NU, splitting a national title in 97. He was 24-4 as an assistant (DC) at Northern Iowa. He was 79-15 as an assistant at Oregon and coached in 2 national championship games. Oregon finished in the Top 10 in 5 of the 7 seasons Frost was there. He then goes to UCF and takes over an 0-12 team and has them 11-0 in year 2. I'm more concerned with who Frost's assistants will be if he chooses to come back to Nebraska. And kudos to Iowa for kicking Nebraska's ass 4 out of the last 5 seasons. Nebraska has great facilities and great fans. But Prop 48 and steroids aren’t coming back. They aren’t a “blue blood” -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 25, 2017 -> 02:42 PM) Horrible year for Harbaugh simply based on his fascination with giving O’Korn so many chances when he proved he’s awful. Cost them the MSU game and maybe this one. Had 3 chances to drive for lead and failed miserably each time. He’s probably still sitting back there with the play clock at zero. Great game. -
FYI, I dont get the impression they are going to spend money this offseason, we are maybe a year away from that.

Murphy does one good thing and then one awful thing. Over and over. You are fooled into thinking he’s real good and then you throw your hands up at the next play. -

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 22, 2017 -> 02:03 PM) He's just a bumbling buffoon, like Trump, and he finds himself in positions that get attention. That's all. He's not smart. This isn't pre-planned stuff. He's just a loud mouth. He's also the biggest asshole of assholes. Are we all forgetting that he refused to let his son's team play basketball because a female ref was assigned to the game? He's an embarrassment to our society and it's an embarrassment that so many people are "entertained" by him. And yet, since he went against Trump, the impression of him got better in a lot of people's eyes. Heel vs heel never works.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 22, 2017 -> 12:11 PM) I have to think Trump is trying to distract with this Ball stuff. He could've gone on a tweet-page last week when this actually happened but chose to build it up slowly. Curious at the least. As far as Ball, I used to hate the guy and his recent CNN interview made me feel differently. The guy is actually intelligent. You'd never know just seeing his one liners quoted on Twitter. Either Chris Cuomo is such an idiot he made Ball look intelligent or Ball is actually intelligent. I think it's more of the latter. Hes arguing publicly with the most powerful man in the world, who is almost universally hated. Its an awesome PR ploy.
