  1. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 03:44 PM) Actually, it is. It's a subset of sexual assault. Not all sexual assault is rape. But all rape is sexual assault. Only the courts should be concerned with different degrees of sexaul assault. Everyday people should be appalled by all of it. And you should lose your job over it like Ailes, O'Reilly and Weinstein.
  2. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 03:14 PM) That's not in any way what I was doing. This is a thread about Weinstein. For some reason it's all about Trump...I don't know why. This thread is about powerful men taking advantage of women with no repercussions. Trump is a great example of that.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 03:04 PM) Harvey Weinstein is going to face repercussions for his actions and hopefully will receive justice. People are mounting a write-in campaign to vote out the DA that did not move forward against him. The people that stand up for women's rights cannot guarantee that all people that have ever claimed to support womens rights or supported a politician who supported womens rights had never sexually assaulted or raped a woman. They can try to ensure they receive repercussions and justice, however, and not sweep it under the rug, or, you know, elect them president. And thats why I listed all those men. It shouldnt matter who is in what position, if women ( in some cases double digit number of them) report being sexually assaulted we need to start enabling them to be taken seriously or this is going to continue. And the fact that a large number of people elected one of those as President shows how little people care about this. This should not be a political ping pong ball like its being made to be. Every single person should be in an uproar about Ailes and O'reilly and Weinstein and Trump.
  4. I think its pretty clear the attitude people can have to excuse and cover up actions like these. All of the excuses are being outlined in this thread. It's sickening that powerful men are allowed to repeatedly violate women with almost no repercussions, and in some cases have people DEFEND those actions. Awful.
  5. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:52 PM) Mega DNC donator and friend of Clintons/Obama gets caught doing all sorts of sexual acts on people and the focus is on...a Trump quote from 2005. Trump (also a sexual predator) was a Clinton donor. So....
  6. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:01 PM) I am not really sure of what happened with O'Reilly but comparing the victims of the men listed with Trump's p**** comment is really messed up. People suffered because of Ailes, Cosby, Weinstein and perhaps O'Reilly as well. Trump's words, while crude, didn't create any victims. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. They are literally all so similar its hilarious. The fact that you dont see that is crazy. Women have suffered at the hands of the president, just like the other men mentioned.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 01:36 PM) People in power abuse people in all different ways. Sexually is probably worse, but I would imagine almost everyone has had some sort of "boss" at some point in their life who treated them like crap because they could. Affleck is more than likely a phony with his outrage. Weinstein is far from the only one in Hollywood. They are all over the place, and it has nothing to do with political party affiliation. The fact that Trump who grabs them by the p**** because he is a "star", and his buddies Ailes and O'Reilly , very fine people, wants to make this poitical is pretty hysterical. Democrats do it. Republicans do it. Independents do it. Ailes - ousted O'Reilly - ousted Cosby - blackballed and sent to court Weinstein - fired from own company Trump - elected as President
  8. Yeah, ill be in the theater watching it like I did the last two that I loved. I cant wait.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 10:46 AM) Watch them release that video of him being racist on the set of the apprentice lol Yeah, I dont know if I would f*** with the network that has dirt on you.
  10. Vomit on his sweater already, Melania's spaghetti. Amiright
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 05:12 PM) They should be. But there are a lot of people showing outrage in the past few days, who knew about it for 5, 10, even 20 years and said nothing about it. Now it comes out because they have to answer to the public in this modern age of media. A lot of Hollywood is really no different than Penn State in this situation. It's fairly industry agnostic, but the media industry for sure has a big share, just look at the Fox News or Bill Cosby revelations. It takes so much to break into that industry that people are afraid of it being taken away. You'll see it in high level corporate culture as well. Sometimes you blame the women for "sleeping their way to the top" but in reality they are being completely abused.
  12. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 05:05 PM) And there seemed to be a very common tactic he used - get one of his producers/assistants to set up meeting with Target X, have the producer/assistant in the room to start the meeting and make the girl feel comfortable and then leave when it was time to for Weinstein to attack. They helped him do this. Like most of these cases, there are enablers who are too afraid of losing their jobs or of being blackballed within a certain industry. Thats pretty common and its a huge problem.
  13. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 04:43 PM) And plenty of women in power new of this stuff and did nothing to prevent it. Don't peg this on men alone. As I said before, where the hell is the board at his company after all the settlements keep getting paid? So far I've read of one senior executive that confronted Weinstein about this (male). Even the women execs did nothing. The stigma of women reporting this is put in place because of the men in power. This is prevalent across all industries, and its f***ing sick. It's even worse we put one of those men in the office of President.
  14. No, we can still talk about how the GOP doesnt care about women, but it turns out high powered men, regardless of political leaning, continue to abuse women with no repercussions.
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 03:57 PM) https://www.thewrap.com/media-enablers-harv...new-york-times/ NYT knew about it 10+ years ago and didn't report it. Horrific, very indicative of sexual abuse from powerful men. So much of it just goes by the wayside.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 12:47 PM) So apparently the failing NYT published 3 credible rape allegations against him today. Fixed
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 02:57 PM) I doubt that would hold up in court. What if half the team did it? Would he forfeit? 75 year old billionaires like the idea of a sharply reduced tax rate, no inheritance tax. Once that clears, you'll see guys like Jerry changing their tunes a bit on social issues. The owners let guys dress that openly beat women. I dont think they would ever sit someone for this. Its a s***ty PR ploy
  18. If we are going off topic then we can talk about the sitting president who has double digit accusations of sexual misconduct, hes part of hollywood...
  19. I thought you werent supposed to protest during work?
  20. Im glad his own company took the steps to oust him, as should every company when s*** like this happens. Being in power shouldnt protect you
  21. They cant even get a PR stunt correct. Ineptitude will be the legacy of this administration
