QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2017 -> 09:27 AM) https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-budget-sla...-172810478.html How can he say with a straight face there are no cuts to Meals on Wheels or Social Security? They are hoping their supporters are too stupid to do actual research and will just watch Fox News and listen to Hannity.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 23, 2017 -> 11:16 PM) I'm very very upset but right now I'm just sad for some reason. As far as the perpetrator, for some reason (at this time) I'm not that interested in who he is. this just saddens me right now and makes me think the world is coming to an end soon. Lot of violence. Compared to when?

Explosions at Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, UK

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 23, 2017 -> 02:20 PM) What is worrisome is that this marks a continued change in tactics by ISIS that I have feared for a long time. The biggest choke points at a concert/sporting event is before and after the security. There have been so many times where Ive been in a security line for an event where I have thought about how bad a terrorist attack would be there. I was talking about this last night. You would be hard pressed to get a bomb into the united center during an event, but nothing would stop you from standing just outside the entry doors with one. -
QUOTE (Tony @ May 23, 2017 -> 02:39 PM) The biggest issue here is all you have to do is look in this thread and see someone like Greg who actually listens to him, and takes what he says seriously. It actually makes an impact on how he views things in this world. That's the scariest thing. FoxNews is the highest rated cable news network and Hannity is now their most watched show. He has a HUGE following. It's terrifying. There is no shortage of extreme right wing propagandists that are put out on fairly mainstream media. Its almost impossible to find people as far left as they are far right. There is a HUGE audience for it for some reason and most of the information being put out is false.

QUOTE (Tony @ May 23, 2017 -> 01:40 PM) As Sean Hannity CONTINUES to push the Seth Rich stuff, Fox News even had to step up and say they don't agree, and pulled the articles from their site: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/05/23...estigation.html Its awful that piece of crap tries to present himself as a journalist.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 23, 2017 -> 01:30 PM) Yeah, he was born in Manchester. Immediately killed that immigration narrative that everyone wanted to spread. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 22, 2017 -> 10:04 PM) Your Western Conference Champion Nashville Predators. I didn't see that coming a month ago but they are no fluke, well deserved. Gonna be an epic party on Broadway tonight. And easy to see Bieksa is still a little s*** with his end of game antics. Adios. They were pretty amazing from game 1 of the playoffs. Totally different level than everyone with by far the best goalie. Well deserved.

Of course everyone is running with the story that ISIS is claiming responsibility but no evidence of that as of yet. -

Walking Out of Graduations Like Notre Dame's

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 22, 2017 -> 04:10 PM) he isn't saying 'you are gay, OFF TO CONVERSION THERAPY!'. Like ss2k mentioned however, you have some liberals who want to send all sorts of people to reeducation classes or such things because they said some 'bad words'. One worker in a place says somethgin that can be deemed 'homophobic' and the whole place has to be 're educated' and sent to sensitivity training. No options. SO what you are saying is people are born assholes, and there is no use trying to convert them into reasonable people in a workplace? I can get behind that. -

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 22, 2017 -> 03:59 PM) Mike Pence once supported the use of federal funding to treat people "seeking to change their sexual behavior." Pence never stated that he supported the use of electric shocks or "gay conversion" therapy. You were referring to this? His statement on his website. He also has supporters and doners from organizations that pursue and implement conversion therapy and he has allocated funds for those orgs. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 22, 2017 -> 03:58 PM) It's kind of like the other thread about ND, discussing views. I like to listen to the pro-Trumpers on the radio present their stances on the subject, just as I like to hear/read the anti Trump view on this board. All the words resonate with me as I develop a position. The conspiracy theorists and extremists you listen to aren't "opposing viewpoints", they are morons. How many anarchist radio stations do you listen to?
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 22, 2017 -> 03:38 PM) I was in the car listening to two different radio hosts today. WOW. You guys would be well served IMO to listen to the other side once in a while. Greg, that isnt "the other side" its the very far very off the chart unrealistic rhetoric of insane people. There is no value in listening to that. ever.

QUOTE (ptatc @ May 22, 2017 -> 03:05 PM) They have those policies and behind them but they also represent the Catholic Church which is steadfastly against them. So which do you choose? All I'm saying is that it's funny how they pick and choose what and where to believe and how to express it. I'll take a degree from a school that represents a view that I feel so strongly against that I am now going to protest it. Christians have been "picking and choosing" pieces of that religion to follow for hundreds of years. Whats to stop them now? -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 22, 2017 -> 01:03 PM) InfoWars now has WH press credentials. No, they got a day pass to be in the press briefing room, a kid with a school paper can apply and be granted that same pass.

RockRaines replied to greg775's topic in The Filibuster
Not tolerating and protesting a guy who pushes intolerance and hatred in a peaceful manner is exactly what this country is and should be about. My parents protested the Vietnam war in college and they sure as s*** wouldnt have cared about if I walked out in protest at a graduation ceremony. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 22, 2017 -> 11:11 AM) Like all supporters. That's why they are called supporters. I won't mention the H word but she had supporters as well through all her scandals. What does she have to do with anything here? Why is she always brought up in defense to this idiot?

His supporters are like someone caught in a bad relationship. Just rationalizing everything he does

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 22, 2017 -> 10:08 AM) app-facebook Donald J. Trump about 11 months ago Saudi Arabia and many of the countries that gave vast amounts of money to the Clinton Foundation want women as slaves and to kill gays. Hillary must return all money from such countries! He also ripped Michelle Obama for not wearing a head scarf when going to Saudi Arabia. Melania and Ivanka weren't wearing them either. He may be putting some nails in his coffin. His softer stance, no doubt an effort for personal gain, has to have some of his backers scratching their heads. I dont think his backers are smart enough to realize his change in policy to be honest. God, guns, white people is good enough.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 22, 2017 -> 08:20 AM) The fact that we continue to supply arguably the most oppressive government in the world with billions of dollars in weapons is pretty disgusting. What Saudi Arabia is doing in Yemen is going toward would could turn into genocide and we are playing a big part in it. I don't want to ever hear some dumb politician talk about how evil Iran is while we buddy up with Saudi Arabia. Its pretty hilarious that given some money he can turn a blind eye to everything he hated prior to becoming president. Also really interesting that The Secretary of State thinks Judaism was founded in Tel Aviv

The kids walking out in protest should show you how much they think of the bulls*** "rules" derived from that novel. These are intellectually elite college graduates. Good for them. -
