QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 09:22 AM) Rock, I know this is a generalization, but I swear it seems like every damn kid I see today under 24 claims to suffer from anxiety, have panic attacks or are otherwise mental midgets. They can't handle sales jobs. They would have to talk to people, be nice, etc. After spending most of the teen years with online relationships, how do they handle real life interactions? They don't, hence panic attacks and anxiety. I see it with most of my younger son's friends (18) and even with some of the older son's friends (23). I havent seen that. Most of the under 24 year old kids I know seem to be trying to specialize in some niche occupation, including going to grad school for additional qualification only to find out that there are no openings because its such a niche. I feel you need to get general experience in something like sales before you specialize in any sort of business. Even banking jobs start out in some type of sales. But thats just my opinion.

Here is where I got my start: http://www.cdwjobs.com/ShowJob/Id/987145/S...y-Level-Inside/ They hire a ton of people, same with CH Robinson, Coyote etc. Entry level sales, work your ass off and move up. I havent seen these jobs slowing down at all, which is why its confusing when new grads cant find a job. I have a psych degree and I am in tech sales. I made 23k out of college in base salary and worked my ass off to make more. Even my tiny company has 3 open entry level sales jobs. https://www.coyote.com/logistics-jobs/#logi...cs-jobs-section https://chrobinson.csod.com/ats/careersite/...mp;c=chrobinson

QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) There aren't many coaches in sports that truly know how to keep a team hungry that was been as successful as this franchise. I don't think it's time for Q to go, but maybe this was a wake up call for the organization, some bigger things need to change. There also is no better coach out there. So a downgrade at that spot isnt ideal.

Bowman throwing the D under the bus today as well as talking about moving core players. Hopefully that's Seabs.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 04:11 PM) Two straight first round losses, I kind of feel like the dynasty is ending. Sure they will be good, but peak Blackhawks is probably done. That's nuts. They lost in 7 games last season to a team that was very good. It was an incredible series. They had the best record in the west this season. It's not like they missed the playoffs. They also have young talent in the wings.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 02:32 PM) Its the '18 that is completely redesigned. The first generation had very subtle changes from year to year...nothing really significant. Thats right, and although they made some nice changes, the AWD is different and now is mostly FWD. I'm not a fan of that.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 10:42 AM) Nice Russ! Congrats! I had a 2012 for a bit, and you are right, they didn't change much...enjoy! Picture! I dont think they change until the 2018 model, maybe its the 2017.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 09:57 AM) Ended up buying a used Audi Q5, loving it so far. Had a work event at the Field Museum last night and finally got to drive on Lake Shore Drive (one of my favorite roads to drive on) and had a blast with the windows/sun roof open. What year? I've been looking at that and the Volvo vc60 for my wife.

QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 10:14 PM) Not really what I said. They need young defense. And I said the organization is too good to be bad for long. Regardless, they just got their asses kicked by an 8 seed so your confidence in being the top seed is as some predictor of future success is nonsensical. They aren't bad. Getting bouncerd in the playoffs is a less accurate predictor.

Should have won game one and three but didn't. Playoff hockey.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 09:47 PM) With the randomness of playoff hockey, they can always make a run as a 6 seed or something. But yeah. Damn that Seabrook contract forever. His contract didn't keep them from scoring.
-
QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 09:51 PM) It's the end for this group. Hawks have to find defense prospects and rebuild. The organization is too good to be bad for long. Yes the team that was top seed in the west needs a full rebuild. Ok.

Nice home cooking.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 01:00 AM) I can't believe how bad they look with the puck. I can't tell if Nashville is just playing great defense, or if the Hawks are just this sloppy/slow/weak, but I can't recall seeing a great offensive chance via nice cycling and passing. It seems everything is off target or gets disrupted. They don't look comfortable with the puck. Also, that non-GI call was brutal. As they discussed before OT, Aardvark was not pushed it to Crawford, he was not pinched in to him, he did a drive by, went for his head, and tried to spin him. It was absolutely intentional. Sure, but they needed to win one at home and not let the BS goals tonight. NHLplayoffs

QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 12:50 AM) There have been multiple years in the run when you knew it was a sort of rebuilding year on the fly, they just weren't the same Cup team and needed a new wave. I didn't think that was the case with this team in February. They were rolling 4 nice lines, defense was 5 deep, Crawford was playing great. Then the playoffs came. this team is way better and deeper than last years. They just suck right now.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 12:40 AM) As much as I've seen you talk modern statistics, I'm surprised to see you freak out over a 3 game sample size. Kane won the MVP last year and was 2nd in scoring this year. . Toews has been a little disappointing but can't worry too much yet. Keith is still underpaid if you look at his contract. Hossa has a long contract but 3 Cups later and because the NHL wouldn't grandfather it in, its a necessary hurdle. The Seabrook contract sucks and I said that the day it was announced. But can't win then all. And Keith has been one of the worst on the ice this series form the leader group. Him and Hammer have sucked

QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 12:23 AM) Seabrook might be the signing that breaks it, but I honestly feel like the Saad trade was bad news. The Blackhawks gained a second line center that offseason but Toews hasn't really ever been the same. They got a second line center and a player better than Saad. They do need to unload Seabs though... We need D men bad

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 12:22 AM) I'll be that guy- if this is the end of the dynasty, it was a f***ing blast. If I ever see 3 in 7 years for the Sox or Bears I'll be a happy dude. Nah, the core is fine, we have young talent and the coach is still there. This is just the NHL playoffs and sometimes it happens. Fortunately for us, we havent really had a superior team get knocked out like this. But we are about to
-
QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 12:12 AM) All their best guys have been terrible this series. Got beat by two terrible goals tonight but you need more than 2. Awful effort this playoffs. For the first time in their era really. Maybe it makes them more hungry? This team is nothing like the team we saw this regular season
-
Honestly, I didnt think this Hawks team was the one that would be beat. They were so well rounded.
-
WTF Hossa. Shoot
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 11:58 PM) f***, this OT is kind of ugly but intense. The ice isn't in winter shape though Our defense just looks dead tired. We havent had those odd man chances
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 11:46 PM) That's playoff hockey. It's what makes the Hawks run so much more impressive in the Cap era Thats right, they've both had it and overcome it

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 11:40 PM) Thank God I'm in California this week. How does an overtime start at 11:40 local time? Here we go, season on the line with a coin flip of the next 20 minutes or so. I just got back from MDR tonight. Love that it was warmer in chicago
