QUOTE (SoxFan2003 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 11:09 AM) CT hasn't had to do much this season, but he might be able to challenge Darrel. I don't see how anybody comes close to beating Laurel. CT is out of shape. I think Darrel and Laurel are going to win pretty easily.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 06:13 AM) Damnit Jenna! I hate Trashlee more than any other girl in this show. Maybe ever but I'd have to think about it. She's going to quit the final and its going to be glorious.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 06:57 PM) I believe most people would turn them in. But I live in an area known for hospitality and being neighborly. Only takes one asshole.

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 06:37 PM) Look, I think what he's trying to say, is that Hitler wasn't perfect, but.... People are way too hard on Hitler

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 03:24 PM) Cause we did it with the Jews. Of course those were the ones that were actually allowed out of their countries. Germany didnt allow them to leave.

Hitler was nice to open up those Holocaust centers.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 02:03 PM) The one thing I don't understand about SWA is they let injured people pre-board and let them take the exit row. I was on a plane with a guy who claimed his back was so bad he had to be first on the plane, but supposedly would have no problem performing exit row duties. Thats not supposed to happen. Thats an error by the flight crew. What I dont get is they put those people in the front few rows and get them off first. It slows the entire process down. Wheelchair bound travelers should be first on, last off.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 01:19 PM) If there are a lot of passengers on a continuing flight, the plane can still be pretty full before even A group boards. Plus if you're flying from somewhere like Ft. Lauderdale and there a ton of older people and their families boarding with blue boarding passes (disability). The disability thing is so abused its not even funny. But you are correct, and Greg is probably in a prime connecting location. There were 22 wheelchairs from an arriving flight from phoenix to MN last week. Even the employees couldnt believe it.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 01:19 PM) Interesting. I know one time I had seat assignment A 35 or 40 and there was basically no place to put my carry on and I had to go pretty far to the back just to get a seat. Most of the time obviously A35 or 40 almost gets me in the exit row. Of course the newer SWA planes only have one true exit row now in terms of more legroom. The other exit rows are just as cramped as regular rows. I still like SWA the best by far. Like I said any other airline sickens me. Unless there were tons of pre boards or you were the middle of a connecting flight (based on your location that could happen) 40 people could take window/aisle in the first 10 rows of 24. The carryon thing these days is the WORST regardless of airlines. People dont know how to store them, overpack them, and routinely bring ones that are too big. If you are past the first 60 people on the flight regionally and you have a carry on, good luck. That sucker is being gate checked

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 01:10 PM) According to TMZ, the passenger has run afoul of the law as a doctor a few times. Doesn't seem to have much to do with the case but I guess if the doctor is a bad guy he's a bad guy. I've seen the family boarding and I agree it looks like a good policy, but a lot of times the plane is half full when it begins boarding. I could see a family having problems if it tries to board one of those flights that's already half full when it begins boarding. As far as O'Hare being close, damn, take Uber to Midway. The SWA experience out of Midway is so much better than O'Hare do whatever it takes to get on that SWA flight including taking Uber to Midway. Its mathematically impossible for the plane to be half full after the A group and before the B group. It can be close, but that still leaves a whole bunch of seats next to each other. There are 48 middle seats so families should be able to get at least two next to each other by the time they board.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 01:03 PM) We flew SWA last summer as a family, it was great. You don't have to worry about checking early, because you are automatically in between group A and B, so you can definitely get a row to yourself. Southwest has been great every time I flew with them, but I live way too close to O'Hare to fly them regularly. I started using them because it was close to the west loop, but now its just too convenient to put my points there. I always get A because of my status and they always seem to be on time. Not to mention no fees for changing flights. Thats huge when you fly for work. If I need another airline I do delta because of the hubs here. I really wish we had actual train travel.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 12:17 PM) I'm flying with a 4 year old and 18 months old tomorrow. If they offer me money and free child care on the plane, I might happily surrender my seat. Im flying thursday with my wife and my 3 year old on SWA, I bet any amount of money we wont have to give up our seats.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 11:56 AM) Wait, so let me get this straight.... They decided to board everyone on the plane. Then they realized they had 4 Republic Airlines employees who wanted to take this flight and tried to get 4 paying customers to deboard? They have a senior citizen forcefully removed, bloodying his face, while passengers scream and children begin crying. The CEO of United then issues a sorry-not-sorry apology which blames the old man for being disruptive. The CPD claims the man fell even though there is plenty of video footage contradicting this. Wow. Business classes will be studying this debacle for years. Different accounts have said they told this guy before he boarded and he refused and boarded anyway and thats why the police were called.
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 11:00 AM) They screwed up by doing this AFTER the plane was boarded. Who the heck wants to get their stuff off a plane after they've boarded....on a Sunday night when the next flight is on Monday? This should have been taken care of before they boarded passengers until they got their 4 volunteers. Right, also a huge mistake. Everything was handled so poorly, which is not a surprise considering how terrible that airline is.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 10:50 AM) And there it is. Penny wise, pound foolish. Even if it took 10k in incentives to get this guy off of a flight, it would be worth it. Even if it turns out the guy was totally in the wrong for some reason, UAL has to know that in the age of social media and omnipresent cameras, perception is more important that reality. Someone would have accepted at some point. It seems weird that nobody did. SWA is routinely overbooked and full and I've never ever seen them taking someone off of a flight involuntarily.
-
Oh god, now they are digging up dirt on this passenger. AWful.
-
also United didnt drag a guy off the flight, the police did.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 08:06 AM) How is it legal in the first place to overbook a flight and then force a paying customer off? That by itself is beyond f***ing stupid. I believe thats actually a federal law. They can bump you at any time. You agree to it when you book. But again, United shouldnt have bumped people (it happens all the time) but the police are the most in the wrong here. Unless there was more to the story, their forceful nature was stupid.
-
United is going to put this all on the chicago police.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 11:37 AM) United and Delta are trash. Southwest is the best. SWA certainly has status perks, but its not as crazy as others, and also not as much in your face. For example you arent aware of the reason I am in front of you in line, for all you know I checked in before you did. I like that.
-
QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 11:03 AM) It's all about status at this point (which isn't right). I traveled 25 weeks a year on American for about 4 years. I never had any issues, always had a window in the front of the plane, and about 65% of the time would get an upgrade to first class. But that's all because I was flying all the time. You don't have status, and the expierence is trash. United is definitely the worst, even their status programs have turned to trash. They tried to charge me a 200 dollar transfer fee to transfer $150 worth of credit to a ticket. They can suck it. I'm SWA and Delta only now.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 10:38 AM) Here's another video of the assault. Imagine if this was your dad who was randomly picked to leave the plane. How would you react? I'd be furious. I already despise United due to their business practices, but these police should have handled this differently.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 10:28 AM) I've been in that situation a few times. On the plane, ready to go and suddenly they look for volunteers. My guess is at the last minute they find out they need crew members at another airport and they realize that specific flight is the fastest route to get there. My wife and I debated taking the offer once. It would have required an overnight stay in Houston, but they were offering 2 free flights anywhere in the lower 48 (for each of us). I was too worried there would be all sorts of restrictions attached, like black out dates or whatever, so we decided against it. I've taken it numerous times with SWA and they always do it pre-flight and you get a nice voucher and a priority seating position on the next flight. What is show here is f***ing crazy.

Seems like there has to be more to it. Seems odd they would drag a volunteer off the flight.
