  1. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) I'm hoping for this: 1. Scott Podsednik LF 2. Aaron Rowand CF DL/3. Thomas 3/4. Paul Konerko 1B 4/5. Jermaine Dye RF 5/B. Carl Everett DH 6. Juan Uribe SS 7. Tadahito Iguchi 2B 8. A.J. Pierznynski C 9. Joe Crede 3B I think 1,2,6,7 is where you always try to concentrate your speed. If Iggy proves himself as #2 in ST, I'd swap him for Rowand & then swap Rowand & Uribe. If Dye proves himself as a #3 in ST then I'll swap him & Konerko but I'd like to keep Thomas at #3 since he's always had his best #'s in that spot. I have always been of the opinion that you'd like to have speed at the #9 spot, but I can see it this way, too. If Crede can hit better, I'll go with this Opening Day lineup: 1. Pods 2. Rowand 3. Dye 4. Konerko 5. Carl 6. Crede 7. Uribe 8. AJ 9. Iggy My .02. BTW, I've been here about 9 days and I really like it here.
  2. Not exactly on the current topic, but Northwestern took their first lead in 32+ minutes with .9 secs left against Minnesota. Why do I do this to myself? f***.
  3. I don't think the Twins can get it done. I don't think they can afford to have Radke and Johan eating up that much payroll. They could trade Brad, however...
  4. Great line from David Schoenfield on ESPN.COM Page 2:
  5. 1. Crede needs to improve offensively 2. Freddy needs to be more consistent. 3. Shingo can't roll downhill.
  6. I'm surprised he wasn't having a beer with his tacos -- actually, he probably was. The guy loved his beers and the racetrack.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) I think Ill, Wisc, MSU are locks -- Minn is solidly in right now, so long as they don't fold down the stretch... Mich is out barring a miraculous run. Same goes for Iowa. Indiana has an outside shot, but needs some signature wins. OSU is ineligible. Purdue isn't worth mentioning. Penn State, likewise. That leaves Northwestern, No. Agreed. It would be difficult for Minnesota to fold this year -- they have IU, MSU, PU and PSU on the road and NU, OSU and Iowa at home. Of course, I've seen them lose too many must-wins under Monson to be really confident. Bracketology has them playing MD in Round One, with a possible Round Two matchup against Kansas. I think it's four for the Big Ten, since I can't see Michigan or Iowa getting in. Those two are playing with an utter lack of confidence right now. It could be really ugly tomorrow night in Ann Arbor.
  8. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) Can't argue with the Twins as the favs. Until we knock them off, there is no reason to think otherwise. The Indians on the other hand... As Ric Flair put it on many an occassion, "To be the man, you gotta beat the man!" But the Twinks are far from unbeatable.
  9. QUOTE(silver and black @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) Oh My God! Another Sox fan in Minnesota! I think I am spreading the love up here... edit: welcome to soxtalk, btw! I've been living in Mpls for 20+ years and it has never occurred to me to jump ship to the Twinks. Or the Vikes, for that matter. I am a Gopher fan, though. *jumps under table*
  10. Man, that was a horrible week. I break into sweats just thinking about it. Of course, it's made all the worse by the fact that I was watching the games against the Twinkies while tending bar. In Minneapolis. And all the regulars know I'm a Sox fan. Ugh. *shudder*
  11. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) next tuesday they play at michigan so im hoping he would go to ann arbor to watch that game at the chrisler center Oops, I thought he was talking about tomorrow night. My bad. D*psh*t von N00benstein checking out for now.
  12. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Krush and SoxnBears, just thought you guys would like to know that me and 2 of my buddies are making the trek to Ann Arbor for next tuesday's game. Cant wait!!!! GO ILLINI!!!!!!! Um...no offense, Tony, but maybe you should go to East Lansing instead. BTW, that was a world-class butt-stompin' the Illini inflicted on my downtrodden Gophers on Saturday.
