  1. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 03:30 PM) Womp womp....As a guy who thinks he'll still be good for for a few more years I don't really find joy in the Tigers signing him. Me too , I don't think the sox wanted to risk it but he's just a great natural hitter right now. Ortiz is 3 years older and still producing and I see vmart as still producing during at least 3 years more too
  2. QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 03:28 PM) I can see them quietly going after Melky Cabrera I know since he was previously a ped user some people don't want him but if that's in the past I'm all for getting him. Meaning the cardinals have peralta and the Orioles Cruz, etc and no one cares anymore.
  3. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 03:23 PM) This is doubly awesome. White Sox evade another albatross deal and more bad money for the Tigers ensuring their window not only shuts, but slams shut. The sox really need a big bat behind abreu and he would have been awesome to have but yea, with the years he wanted at 36 it wasn't going to happen. Seems most likely that panda will resign with SF too so I wonder who that big bat will be for us. I don't want it to be a marginal one ala lind, butler etc
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 10:32 AM) WTF??? In the article it said that only AL players voted so I'm guessing maybe Marcus voted for himself?
  5. Is Andrew miller going to make too much money for the sox to want to go after him? That was an impressive inning lol almost 15 k's per nine innings this year is ok
  6. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 28, 2014 -> 03:42 PM) I think the 9th is the best they can do; and that's if they lose and win the tiebreaker against Phillies. If the sox lose and Cubs score holds up, same record for all three teams. How do you win the tie breaker, isn't it based on last years' records?
  7. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 01:14 PM) Huh? When Sanchez made that error hawk said he's not a Beckham lol >nvmd, your probably wondering about the second part. I read it wrong. Don't know who that's in reference to
  8. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 01:07 PM) Nice job by Hawk there. In one sentence, he was able to over-promote one prospect ("Sanchez is gonna be a good one") while still pumping a lousy departing player ("But right now, in the field, he's no Beckham."). Hawk is a genius. I liked how stone followed that with "there's not many of those guys around..." then added "defensively" lol
  9. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 09:17 AM) Go to MLB.com and listen to the video from beckham. I kinda feel he knocks the sox a bit. Well Gordon were excited your gone.... I kind of thought the same. And hector said something too about the pressure being able to be off him now and that he doesn't have to be the guy anymore and carry the team. Since when has this been on Beckham to do that? Maybe after his rookie season but c'mon, were in 2014 now lol long gone
  10. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 21, 2014 -> 05:05 PM) I can't imagine you'll see that from anyone other than maybe elrockin. Oops should have clarified, just meant like on the radio, twitter, Facebook etc
  11. Preparing for all the Omg how could the sox trade Beckham! Team leader, heart and hustle , etc etc lol
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 01:21 PM) Except Nieto had the ball when he got stepped on. On that one, you punish Reyes for not sliding, and the thing is, to me he never had the intention of doing so. He didn't give me the appearance of "Nieto is close to the plate I have to stay up." If Reyes starts his slide, you may very well have obstruction there. He may make contact and be blocked before Nieto has the ball. Nieto didn't lay his leg down until the ball was in his glove. Technically, his path was never blocked due to stupid baserunning. I think Reyes saw how Nietos leg was sort of in the way and he didn't even bother to slide or anything knowing they were going to call him safe because that stupid rule. It's such a joke
  13. He was getting shelled down in Charlotte too right? And like someone here said, for all this talk about lindstrom coming back let's not forget he wasn't very good anyways lol
  14. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 16, 2014 -> 03:31 PM) man, I would've wanted conor to bat 2 instead of beckham. I have no faith in him. then move de aza to conor spot and move gordo down. Connor doesn't hit well vs lefties and Beckham actually has been decent vs lefties this year. It'd be nice nice to see semien at 3rd today , guess we have to wait til September
  15. Avisail isn't in the lineup today so maybe he'll be back up tomarrow?? Nvmd, just saw scheduled off day :/
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2014 -> 05:10 PM) Hawk was saying he actually hopes they bench him during the Giants series so he gets 4 days off. With the off day tomarrow , I wouldn't mind him getting Tuesday off as well
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2014 -> 04:51 PM) Looks gassed. I never would have thought he'd go this long without a homer after the first few months of the season. Didn't he only play 60 something game last year due to injury and the Cuban league is only 90 games. Has played in over 100 this year plus spring training, hopefully a day off or two will help plus dhing him more
  18. Hopefully danks pitches great today since it's th mariners and they're in the same division so they would see him as help I guess lol
  19. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 9, 2014 -> 03:23 PM) Completely agree. Don't really understand the need to see Jordan Danks ever again. As bad a he was I'd still take him in the lineup any day over Leury lol
  20. With eaton hurt, there has to be someone besides Leury that can play cf?? As mentioned on here, he's the worst hitter statistacly with minimum 100 ab's and he's hitting lead off.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 03:51 PM) Another series without a homer for Abreu. He had been on such a role before the ASB with his consistent homers in every series. Good thing he didn't participate in the home run derby or people would start blaming his lack of homeruns on it lol
  22. And with eaton getting hurt we get Leury in the lineup, ugh
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 10:02 AM) It is a very small sample size but Almora has been terrible at AA and he wasn't particularly impressive at high A either. I thought I read that he projects out to be like a David dejesus? Good defense , speed, but nothing crazy? But when he's talked about you'd think he's the next adam jones lol
