  1. White Sox always behind the curve.
  2. I thought Dick Allen himself said he wanted to go into the HOF with a White Sox cap. Chicago was the only city that made him feel welcomed. And he said his happiest years were in Chicago. His family should have honored his wishes.
  3. What a slap in the face to Chicago, and the fans that treated Dick Allen with the respect he deserved. Maybe if the organization wasn't currently run by Reinsdorf, Dick's family would have honored his wishes and let him be inducted with a White Sox cap.
  4. It's a shame when you think that Kyle Tucker is a better baseball player than anyone the White Sox have had in years - probably decades.
  5. Nobody currently on the Sox deserves to be on a banner. The new banner should feature Dick Allen and Bill Melton.
  6. He had a certain swagger and a flair to everything he did even small things like the way he would adjust his batting gloves, or that little flip of the mitt when he would catch a ball at first base. The man was just naturally cool.
  7. Happy that Dick Allen got the recognition he deserved many years ago by finally being voted into the HOF. Too bad Tommy John didn't get voted in as well. He is also deserving of the honor.
  8. Dick Allen was not only a great hitter, but a great baserunner, an excellent defensive first baseman, and one of the smartest ballplayers ever.
  9. Should have been inducted a long time ago. Dick Allen, a great ballplayer and most exciting White Sox player of all time.
  10. They would have beaten out the A's with a healthy Bill Melton batting behind Dick Allen.
  11. I'm in my mid 60s now and don't really get excited over sports figures or athletes anymore. But when I see clips of Dick Allen, it brings back that same thrill as when I was a kid. He was my baseball hero, and to me he will always be the greatest White Sox player of all time. Dick Allen belongs in the Hall of Fame.
  12. Sad to hear about Bill Melton. If only he didn't fall off that ladder the Sox would have probably won the pennant in '72, and he probably would have gone on to have a greater career as a good defensive slugging third baseman. I remember one day I went to a Sox game and it was so hot the third baseman was Melton. RIP Bill, you will be missed.
  13. White Sox traded Tommy John and Steve Huntz for Dick Allen.
  14. Too bad we don't have Roland Hemond running things and making trades. Is there a Dick Allen on our horizon?
