  1. This post is so correct I just wanted to post it again!
  2. That's what I thought. So this is probably bad news, right? Edit: Never mind, I just saw ptac's recent posts.
  3. Wouldn't it also apply in AL stadiums if a manager previously had to put his DH in the field due to an injury thus losing the DH for the rest of the game?
  4. “Without knowing the exact particulars [of the tear], more often than not he’s going to get back to playing at or near the same level,” said Brian Schulz, a sports-medicine specialist and orthopedic surgeon with the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute and a team physician for the Angels. So neither this doctor nor the other two mentioned in the other post know the particulars of Robert's injury and are just speaking in generalities. So if it's a "catastrophic" tear it will effect his speed and therefore his career. I'm hoping for the best but I'm still very concerned about his recovery.
  5. That would be funny but with LaRussa it's just scary.
  6. Well that's certainly good news. I hope it works out that way. Robert is a joy to watch tracking down balls in CF, and I'd absolutely hate it if this injury causes him to lose a step (or more).
  7. @fathom knew the rule, but the Hall Of Shame manager never heard of it. I'd rather have fathom manage the Sox instead of LaRussa, but I'd hate to lose him as a poster here.
  8. I haven't listened to him since the B&B days, and I thought he was an asshole back then.
  9. I'd rather not have my closer running the bases before he has to go back out to the mound to try to win the game in the bottom of the inning. Also, I'd rather have a position player rather than a pitcher running the bases in a crucial situation.
  10. LaRussa is a terrible manager and Bernstein is an asshole. The two are not mutually exclusive.
  11. I didn't like LaRussa as a manager his first time with the Sox. I assumed he improved after they got rid of him and became a good manager with experience. Either he forgot everything he learned or he was never any good at all. Whatever, he certainly is the worst manager in baseball at present. Typical JR bullshit hire.
  12. Reinsdorf would be embarassed for hiring LaRussa if he had any self awareness.
  13. Yep. They're just carrying water for JR by trying to defend LaRussa.
  14. Frank & Ozzie are just as full of shit as the rest of JR's organization.
  15. Frank and Ozzie claiming 99% of other MLB teams don't know that rule. What bullshit!
  16. LaRussa doesn't look well. JR should think of his health and pay off his contract. Jirschele should be managing the team starting Friday.
  17. Whew! Got past the Reds and the ump. Let's win this in the 10th!
