  1. Or keep all three for depth. But if you can get some real good value for McCann, go ahead.
  2. I'm with you. Get both EE and Castellanos and you still have Mazara on the bench for LH hitting if needed.
  3. Castellanos for RF? That lineup would be pretty stacked.
  4. The problem with the rotating DH in the Sox current situation is neither McCann nor Collins is a good enough hitter to warrant being a DH for any significant amount of appearances as such. EE is a solid DH, and Grandal or Collins can still DH whenever he needs a rest, which he will at his age.
  5. Screw it, just get both of them then. EE is clearly the better hitter so you sign him as primary DH for one year. Castellanos is your regular RFer. That leaves you a little light on LH bats in the starting lineup, but you have Mazara and Collins coming off the bench as LH hitters. We know JR and the Sox are never going to spend 300 million dollars on top tier elite FAs, but maybe they will be willing to spend some money on moves like this. EE's money will be off the books after one year, and Castellanos's contract shouldn't be too large to be a real albatross, and he'll also be off the books when it's time to extend some of the core guys. I say be a little bold for once and make a splash by signing both.
  6. That would be OK, but then they're a little light on LH hitting again.
  7. A lineup of Abreu and Grandal as the #3 & #4 hitters and the DH as the #8 hitter is not a very strong lineup. They need to add a proven big bat to hit third or cleanup to have a really solid lineup.
  8. Good move. Now we need one more good big bat and we're in business. Bring on Lindor ?!
  9. Yeah, I saw the eyeballs and the picture of Ryu and since it was from a "legit" source (NBCS WhiteSox) I thought they were close to a deal with Ryu. Then when I opened the link and read the article, I saw it was just the same old same old.
  10. Crap! I got excited with the eyeballs and the picture of Ryu and thought the implication was the Sox had reached a deal with him. Turns out it's just a link to an article saying Sox still have interest in Kuechel and Ryu.
  11. I'm excited now! EDIT: Maybe you should start a separate thread. I hope this is true!
  12. Even though this rumor is likely BS, I would love if the Sox acquired Lindor for Madrigal and a few more lesser prospects. Move Anderson to 2b - would likely cut down on most of his throwing errors and probably improve his fielding as well since he wouldn't feel rushed on as many plays. Sox would have one of the most potent young infields in all of baseball. Now, back to reality...
  13. White Sox lineup is still one big bat short if you ask me.
  14. I like Benintendi but he's not a RFer. He's a LF/CFer. I'd be happy if the Sox got Benintendi, but they should play him in LF with Jimenez at DH (which they won't do).
  15. Collins for Price and Benintendi and the Red Sox pay the final year of Price's contract minus league minimum. Take it or leave it.
  16. Should have been last offseason. Didn't Hahn even say last year was the offseason they were targeting for the past several years? The plan should have been to augment the new young core with a couple of proven stars. Instead we suffered through the rebuild only to augment the core with change of scene candidates (Mazara) and washed up vets .
