  1. QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 07:47 PM) Leury was always regarded as a plus middle infielder, but the outfield is really new to him. Right. And now that he has come around with the bat, he deserves a shot at the SS job. Anderson should not be annointed as the starting SS but should have to earn it. Let them both compete for the job next year.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 07:45 PM) Subtitle edited for accuracy
  3. QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 06:29 PM) I'm 100% behind giving him the CF job, next year and giving him every opportunity to figure it out. You find fast, good defensive centerfielders, but rarely one with potential power and a good arm. It is so intriguing. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 06:37 PM) Yes agree. Sorry Tilso and sorry Leury. This guy makes highlight reel catches. He has a knack for the incredible with his instincts. I love having him out there next year. And i love Engel in the Outfield! I agree about giving Engel another shot as starting CFer next season. I think Leury should be given a shot at the starting SS job going into next season. If Anderson is to make it, let him compete and earn it. If Anderson does beat him out, Leury still is valuable as a super utility guy.
  4. QUOTE (Scoots @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) Question is where do you put him? He has the speed to play left or center, but certainly not the range or of the ball-off-the-bat reading ability. Outfield is taken for the future anyway. Obviously 2B is covered...if he can't play short he definitely can't do 3rd. Not sure he is the SS on this 2020 team unless he makes some absolutely dramatic changes, which is possible. See Avi. Gonna take a lot of determination, hard off-season work, and willingness to freaking adjust. Which he has not done at all this season. Why does everyone annoint this guy as a starter. Leury Garcia is a better defensive SS, has shown improvement at the plate, and is still young. Why not give him a shot at being the starting SS? Anderson has earned nothing. Make him earn a spot.
  5. Mendick sounds like a player that is easy to root for. It would be nice if he could become the Sox starting SS in a couple of years.
  6. Migo pitching extremely well again. Gotta believe some contender will want him.
  7. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 08:05 PM) YoYo . If that's a joke I have no idea what it means. I think it means I I in Spanish.
  8. These uniforms are ugly. Is it true that the nickname on Yoan's uniform is Bustamente?
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 09:26 PM) Honestly, I'm more frustrated with how poorly Moncada and Anderson played today than Fulmer. With that said, hopefully Giolito performs decently tomorrow. Not overly optimistic As Kenny always told us, "Prospects are suspects until proven otherwise."
  10. Nicky Delmonico is the best prospect in baseball.
  11. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 09:40 PM) The dude is putting up an 800 ops season while playing great defense in CF ( according to advanced metrics), and he can play all OF and infield positions. He has 3 years of control left after this year. Does Hahn work his magic and try for a team friendly extension? Do they try and flip him in the off-season/next year? Both? The guy is looking like a 3 WAR supersub. I'm not sure how to accurately value the versatility provided by a supersub, but it is quite a valuable asset. I'd let him compete for the starting SS job.
  12. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 11:02 PM) This. Anderson has a long way to go offensively, but giving up on him in year one of a rebuild is f***ing stupid. Defense matters too.
