  1. How about Frazier, Robertson and Anderson to Yankees for Torres.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2017 -> 02:36 PM) Q looks as good as ever. No nibbling at all. Bosio fixed him.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) My god is Anderson horrible on defense. Another former "hot prospect" that everyone was so excited about.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 16, 2017 -> 01:27 PM) Nightengale saying only "fringe" prospects coming back in potential Frazier deal, and that we'd eat cash too. I hope Hahn plays hardball here. Hold out for something decent with all these remaining players. If that means waiting until after the deadline for a waiver deal, so be it. The contenders should be more desperate to get these reinforcements for the playoff push than the Sox should be to unload them.
  5. Instead of taking on Panda's contract I would rather see the Sox put that money towards paying Giancarlo Stanton.
  6. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 10:15 AM) Let's strive mightily to win the game because it's more fun than losing I'm with you.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 11:24 PM) From a Boston fan: https://mobile.twitter.com/Based_Sniper88/s...074586877612036 QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 11:25 PM) Twitter says Ockimey, Hernandez,and Lozada Blah.
  8. Hahn brought in an amazing amount of potential in just eight months. He also traded away an amazing amount of talent and value in those eight months. The jury is still out.
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 07:11 PM) Heh, I do appreciate a 295 million dollar guaranteed commitment being described as "controllable". Any player is controllable if you're willing to guarantee enough money. Hell, you can control me for half that!
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 07:10 PM) Stanton is rumored to be a salary dump Then dump him on the White Sox.
  11. When giving up a talent and value like Jose Quintana, I would think the Sox should have gotten at least one player back that is just about MLB ready. I wish that along with Cease and Jimenez the Sox would have gotten back someone like Candelario or Happ or Schwarber. I know Jimenez is a highly rated prospect as is Cease, but being so far away from the major leagues makes them a very risky return for a proven talent like Q who is under control with such a reasonable contract. I know I'm almost alone in my opinion by the ecstatic reaction of almost everyone here to the trade. I wonder if the Seattle fans were this excited when the Mariners acquired Jeremy Reed + for Freddy Garcia, who was to become a free agent. Again, not knocking the potential of Jimenez and Cease, just would have liked at least one proven major league ready player to go along with them for a proven commodity like Quintana, one of the best and most consistent left handed starters in baseball signed to a bargain contract for several more years.
  12. QUOTE (pablo @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 04:50 PM) This is both exciting and sad at the same time. I didn't really care when they traded Sale. I was one who got a little tired of his act, but Quintana has really been a joy to watch these last few years. Ditto that.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 10, 2017 -> 08:16 PM) All players have weaknesses. I don't know what to tell you if you think Moncada didn't have any risk. Of course all players have weaknesses. I knew Moncada, like all prospects, was a risk. I don't believe any prospect is a sure thing, including Moncada. Prospects are suspects until they prove themselves over time at the big league level. Two weaknesses that have plagued the Sox for a long time now are poor defense and problems making contact. It's too bad these happen to be the weaknesses of the latest top Sox prospect. That's why Yolmer Sanchez is a breath of fresh air because he can actually play plus defense at 2B and it looks like he can at least hold his own against major league pitching. I'm just not as anxious as some to anoint Moncada the Sox second baseman until he proves he can play good defense and hit major league pitching. Rebuilding is fraught with risks. It's not a slam dunk that a rebuild is going to go as planned. Teams can be mired in mediocrity for decades if things don't go as planned. If Moncada doesn't live up to the lofty expectations the Sox have for him, their rebuild will be in big trouble. I have hopes that he turns out to be a superstar and is a cornerstone of the White Sox for years to come. But I'm not going to pretend that he's a sure thing either.
  14. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jul 10, 2017 -> 12:56 PM) http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2017-trade-value-41-to-50/ For all the upside, Moncada’s probably not ready to help a big-league team win right now, and the risks associated with his high strikeout rate and questionable defense mean that he might not ever turn into what he’s been projected to become. He certainly could become a star, but there’s risk here, and not a lot of present value, so the Red Sox were willing to move him for a significant short-term upgrade. Great.
  15. Send Anderson down until he learns how to play defense.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2017 -> 04:22 PM) Joking about wrestling Gotcha
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2017 -> 04:15 PM) Wait, what? The fix is in. Texas is supposed to win this one.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2017 -> 04:13 PM) Shocked Renteria didn't get ejected. Two complete bulls*** replay calls Maybe it's as fake as pro wrestling.
