  1. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) This team is jack without Sale. We simply don't have the depth to absorb the blow without starting over. He's just one guy who only plays every five days.
  2. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 09:32 AM) price on junior guerra is "higher than cashner." and should be. 7-2, 2.70, plus 5 yrs control. #crew not anxious to deal https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/759366617100845056 Should make the vaule of sale and Quintana even higher It only helps the Sox if they have a GM that can get something done.
  3. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) I really hope that they trade Sale and keep Quintana. If they do, they better get back the position players who could fix this pathetic offense. I'd love to see several trades, like some of those, about which guys have been speculating. With a productive offense and a bunch of new players, who don't have a mental block, which prevents them from scoring runs when Q pitches, he could not only become the Ace of the staff, but one of the most coveted, elite pitchers in the game. It just can't be a coincidence that this team almost never scores runs for Jose. It's apparent that it has gotten in their heads. I'd just rather keep him, and trade them. For me, Sale is a much better choice to be traded, for the following reasons: 1) He has one year less of control than Q. 2) He will likely bring back more talent, because Quintana is underrated. 3) He probably represents a greater injury risk 4) He is not my kind of team leader. He seems selfish and childish, which doesn't set a good example for young players, more of whom would make up the roster, after trading for top prospects. Once again, spot on Lillian.
  4. Kahnle is yet another example of the lack of depth in this organization. I wish I never have to see him pitch for the Sox again.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:55 PM) Good. He plays second; trade Lawrie. Saladino is the utility guy. Frazier, Anderson, Moncado and Abreu around the horn the next 5 years? No Abreu at 1B. Abreu should be a DH if he's still here.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) That must mean we got him. Bye Sale? Watch, they traded him to another team for a number two type starter.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:41 PM) I can't wait for this game to be over. Something smells... That's the Sox offense.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:40 PM) Stupid baseball by Melky Trying to do too much out of frustration.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:36 PM) Yoan Moncada was seen hugging teammates. Hmm.. Maybe he's just fond of his teammates. Or they traded him for Todd Frazier straight up.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:31 PM) QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 03:28 AM) I know pitching is important, but you can't win if you can't score no matter how good your starting pitching is. Time to gets some bats. build around your pitching JR won't spend the money. It has to be trades and the only thing they can offer for legit bats is pitching. Now if he'll open his wallet and outbid everybody for Reddick, Encarnacion, or take on big contracts like Braun, etc they can keep all their pitching. I don't expect that, however.
  11. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:28 PM) Me too honestly. I like Quintana so much more, definitely more of a leader Plus he's under control for one more year, seems to be less of an injury risk, and doesn't have the perceived trade value Sale has.
  12. I know pitching is important, but you can't win if you can't score no matter how good your starting pitching is. Time to gets some bats.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:25 PM) Could you imagine getting 5-6 good to great bats for Sale and Quintana? It's gotta be tempting. Especially if they aren't butchers in the field.
  14. I wish Hahn could give us something to get excited about already.
  15. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) Yep, and tremendous performance from Q. Now Hahn needs to do his job and trade either him or Sale I'd rather it be Sale that's traded than Q.
  16. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) So anyone think Frazier really has flu-like symptoms ? If he were traded I'm sure we would have heard by now and if he was just being held out I'm sure he'd be in the dugout.
  17. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) I swear, a pitching machine can shut this team down Pitching machine? Heck, a tee could probably shut down this offense.
  18. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) So if the Sox aren't gonna trade Q and Sale for some young players that can actually hit the baseball, then the plan is to sign dudes like Reddick, Encarncion, and Wilson Ramos right? Asking Frazier and Abreu to carry this offense again next year is completely delusional. Abreu would be a good number six hitter and Frazier is a good number eight.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 08:01 PM) Abreu is just horrendous. Would love for the Rangers to take him Package him with Sale and get Mazara, Odor and Profar plus a couple of prospects.
  20. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 07:59 PM) Melky is such a good hitter. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 07:59 PM) Melky is such a solid hitter Great minds.
  21. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 07:23 PM) Sanding and painting trim in oil paint at work today is more fun than this offense That's why I hope they trade Sale for a bunch of good bats.
