  1. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) That's fine. if nothing happens that means you wait until the off season. The advantage of waiting is that none of the contending teams are going to trade young talent on the MLB roster during the playoff race. However, they may be able to get one of them in the off season. It's not like Sale or quintana can leave this off season. The better deal might be in the winter. I thought we were talking about the market for closers. I doubt if anyone is going to seriously overpay for a closer during the offseason but someone may if they are in a race for the playoffs. If they want to deal Robertson they best do it while the market is hot, otherwise just keep him.
  2. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 03:28 PM) Most years it goes right up to the deadline which is a week away. And then for the Sox, nothing happens.
  3. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) Seeing that massive price, the market might quickly be flooded with relievers. You've got to move on these things. Hahn doesn't move fast. I fear he's going to blow it. I hope I'm wrong.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) I get really frustrated when it's time for us to sell. When it was Peavy, that he was 1.5 control we thought it would be such an asset to get more back. Then what did we hear back? "teams were looking for a cheaper option" When it was Rios "Just a rental, shouldn't expect much back" I feel like when push comes to shove we'll hear "Too good for the market, teams went after cheaper options" Hahn will find a way to screw it up.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 06:10 PM) I have no idea what you're trying to say lol. I think SouthSideSale is using the term "fold" as folding one's cards and walking away from the table, whereas everyone else is using "fold" as meaning "giving in" to Sox demands.
  6. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) I'd like to trade Sale before Q. Sale's the ace; but he should bring a lot more...a lot to rejuvenate the team. Q is signed for one more year and will help while rebuilding and then after rebuilt. I also like his smooth delivery - looks like he can pitch til he's 35 or 40. A good steady arm while rebuilding. And then too much drama around Sale. I'd rather they trade Sale and keep Q too.
  7. QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:52 PM) Interesting how nobody is posting here when thee team is ahead 3-1. Everyone is in the Chris Sale thread.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) Stoney just took a shot at him What did he say?
  9. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:49 PM) so they switched? I read Sale was upset about the s***ty '76 jerseys. Apparently he ruined them so they couldn't wear them.
  10. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) so what jerseys are they wearing? lol, this is gold! 83 throwback unis.
  11. White Sox general manager Rick Hahn clarified what occurred in a statement released at about 6:45 p.m. ET. "Chris Sale has been scratched from tonight's scheduled start and sent home from the ballpark by the White Sox due to a clubhouse incident before the game," Hahn said. "The incident, which was non-physical in nature, currently is under further investigation by the club. The White Sox will have no additional comment until the investigation is completed."

  13. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:44 PM) Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi 8s8 seconds ago Chris Sale involved in a "clubhouse incident before the game," team says. #WhiteSox Uhhhhh. Sale being an asshole again?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:43 PM) Watch it be he failed a drug test
  15. Someone on Facebook just posted: Yankees announcers just said it's officially the flu but unofficially they think he's being traded to Texas.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:36 PM) Barstool dude just tweeted something about his source. This is getting serious. What about his source?
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:32 PM) The timing of this is curious for sure. Gotta admit, kinda want him traded just to see what they found acceptable. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) Getting excited. Hoping it's Boston. This is definitely more exciting than watching their games, that's for sure. Just hope if they make this trade they don't blow it.
  18. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Read the last article I posted. They really cant afford Sale without taking apart their lineup already riddled with injuries. Gotcha.
  19. I wonder if they are just saving him for the Cub series. Possibly to go against Arrieta?
  20. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) Well in other news we can cross off Texas...Giants have basically no shot. You really only have the Red Sox. Why cross off Texas? Did they just make a trade for another pitcher?
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) Brian just said he has the flu supposedly There goes the excitement.
  22. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) Was just told that Chris Sale will be scratched from today's start. Stay tuned. https://twitter.com/DevanFink/status/756967741869985792 Huh? Exciting if true. Probably not though. Worst case is an injury.
