  1. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 06:36 PM) This entire lineup was so poorly constructed. Abreu should not be hitting #2 w/ the way he's hit this season. Shuck should be in RF & not batting 5th & Avi should never play the field again. It's simply confusing on what Robin is thinking with some of these lineups. I hope they are showcasing Avi in the outfield for a trade.
  2. Sometimes when I'm bored I imagine replacing Avi, Shuck and one of our catchers on the roster with Lorenzo Cain, Eric Hosmer and Salvador Perez.
  3. QUOTE (ronkark @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 05:27 PM) I'm excited about the idea of Anderson and to get a look but this has struggle written all over it. 1 - Defense. Can we afford bad defense? No. He had, what 9 errors already at Charlotte. 2 - Discipline. His BB/K slightly upticked lately but a ways to go. Be curious when he draws his first MLB walk. I'm gonna go with July. That said I know he has more range than Rollins and hopefully he can hit it hard and steal some bases. We need that. Eaton is just not a base stealer. And now with Abreu behind him he never will be. The last thing this team needs right now is a bad defensive SS and another hitter that strikes out a lot and hardly ever walks.
  4. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) I don't understand the front office's thinking here. They certainly have gone to extremes here. First they want the veteran leadership, so they bring in a guy who is clearly "washed up". Then they reverse course and bring up a kid who they admit is a little raw, and still learning. I wan't crazy about the Rollins acquisition and even less in agreement with this one. It's too soon to be calling up Anderson. He is not a "savior" for what ails this team, and they are risking damaging his confidence. If he becomes a really great player, it will very likely be in a couple of years. In the meantime, he should be getting much more experience in AAA. His skill set is not what this team needs. He has no plate patience, which means that his OBP is not likely to be anywhere near .300 in the Big Leagues. He is not an elite defensive SS, as I have stressed in prior posts. He isn't even a left handed bat, and certainly not a power hitter. So what exactly does he bring to the table, that suggests that he needs to be rushed to the Majors, in order to help right this "sinking ship"? Great post as usual, Lillian. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I don't think Anderson will be any improvement over Saladino this season. But then again, I'm one who likes Saladino. Maybe Anderson is being brought up to play CF now that Jackson is hurt. It's not a wise thing to throw him in a new position upon his arrival in the big leagues, but with the Sox you never know.
  5. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 06:30 PM) They've been infused wit the spirit of Zach Collins. I thought it was Justin Morneau.
  6. QUOTE (chisox802 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) For what it's worth once again (in the Mat Latos thread I stated aprox. 20 minutes before it was announced that my buddy who works for the sox & bulls said that this was being announced today or tomorrow), he also said this. This move is solely in case they are not able to land a big bat, which unless the wheels continue to completely fall off they will make every effort to. Thanks for the info. Post here more often!
  7. Leave him in! He's supposed to eat innings to save the bullpen.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 06:43 PM) Hahn and Ventura should be fired tonight Who scouts these players for the Sox?
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 08:28 PM) Tim Anderson, your Charlotte watch is near an end. Didn't he make an error tonight?
  10. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 08:08 PM) Absolutely. He did pretty well given the circumstances. But the difference was that when the Cubs had an opportunity to 'upgrade' their situation they did it. Loyalty be damned. And I think Renteria had two years remaining on his deal. Mark That's the way it should be.
  11. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 08:05 PM) I would argue completely differently. Do you think that level of outburst would have happened with a manager like Maddon, Bochy, or Showalter? The way that clubhouse reacted goes to show you the complete LACK of control Robin has in that clubhouse. Interesting point.
  12. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 02:28 PM) Get your tickets for next home stand good seats available. Boycott until changes are made.
  13. He should have pulled Quintana after he walked JD Martinez.
  14. Now lets get a hitter who can play decent OF or 1B.
  15. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 07:25 PM) Salad is who I thought he was Still one of their better players. (I know that's not saying much).
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 07:20 PM) NO BUNTING. NO DOUBLE PLAY or K here Tyler. No matter what happens, no one can accuse you of second guessing. UGH!
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 07:20 PM) And an XB hit...OMG But, can the bullpen (Kahnle likely to come in) actually hold DET scoreless if we do end up scoring him? Kahnle can't even intentionally walk a guy.
