  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 22, 2013 -> 10:27 PM) A-14,950, in case you were wondering. I can't believe that many people paid to watch this boring team.
  2. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 09:55 PM) But if Dunn keeps rolling like this, the booing that he endured in 2011 will seem like a standing ovation compared to what he's going to be hearing at The Cell. There's not going to be many people at the Cell to boo anybody.
  3. Another snoozer, but at least not a loser.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 08:29 PM) Most boring team since 2007, and it's not even close. This is what happens when you can't make up your mind whether or not to rebuild or go for it. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 08:45 PM) I already want to give up my tickets for Friday. I'm sorry but there is nothing fun about this team. So frustrated right now. This team has the personality of a gym shoe. There are no interesting/exciting players on this team. They have no characters, no spark plugs on the team. In 2005 they had guys like Carl, AJ, Mark, Aaron, etc. Now that they are all gone this is just a dull boring team. The losses don't seem to even bother me much anymore. I'm mostly bored watching them and I'm losing interest. I hope it's just the weather that's making me feel this way, but I think it's more the personality of the team, the makeup of the roster.
  5. Ramirez is going to ground a single right back up the middle.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 01:55 PM) Why is Dunn hitting in front of Konerko? Because Dunn swings and misses left handed.
  7. QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 11:12 AM) Just going through this thread, and I don't know if it's the color, my monitor or my eyes, but that "cl" looks like a "d". I thought to myself, "what the hell is a dutch walk?" Then I laughed. Now I'm going to be giggling every time I see the Big Donkey taking a dutch walk. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) A dutch walk is very good because it costs the pitcher 7 pitches - ball, strike, ball, strike, ball, foul, ball. Sorta like a Dutch 200 in bowling. (making this up on the fly)
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 08:57 PM) Apparently last year's time change had more to do with the fans than Youkilis. So they screwed all the fans who already bought tickets for the night game by changing it at the last minute. At least this year they're doing it right by making it a day game right from the start.
  9. QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 06:00 PM) Gordon's glove is the only thing I'd miss about him. But if we sacrifice defense for more offensive production out of an infield of Gillaspie-Ramirez-Keppinger-Konerko so be it. With Gordon as the utility infielder, sounds good to me.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 08:25 PM) It's amazing to me that robin or anyone else thinks Dunn should be hitting 3rd on this team.He looks lost in the cage, much less games But he gets so many clutch walks.
  11. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 10, 2013 -> 12:48 AM) Everyone take note: Gillaspie pronounced Gillespie from Conor's own mouth. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Mar 10, 2013 -> 01:01 AM) He doesn't know what he's talking about He must be dizzy.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) Wow. I am kind of surprised the Sox let that happen right away. They should have given him #13 instead.
  13. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Feb 22, 2013 -> 05:23 PM) I dunno, the fact that Hahn described Gillaspie's 3b defense as "solid-average" makes me think he's probably worse than Morel defensively. I don't know how much stock to put in Hahn's evaluation of a player's defensive ability. Hahn thought Rob Mackowiak could play well in centerfield.
  14. QUOTE (TomSeaverFan @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 08:34 PM) I have $1,117 dollars in my wallet right now. Does that make me certifiably insane? Being poor as a kid I've always wanted to carry a lot of cash around as an adult. I'm far from rich but I think I have some sort of mental illness that requires me carrying around a lot of cash. I wonder if there is a name for people like me. Pal O' Mine!
  15. QUOTE (Bubba Philips @ Jan 27, 2013 -> 05:51 PM) All the hitters seem to have similar approaches at the plate. If there is one player's plate discipline I admire, that would be Carl Everett. Everet change his batting approach when he had 2 strikes. Great point about Carl. The Sox never did fully replace what he brought to the team.
  16. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) That was a nice gesture by AJ, but he's still a giant asshole. You just can't stop s***ting all over an appreciation thread.
  17. AJ took out a full page ad in today's Chicago Tribune. What a class act. He will be missed.
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 07:40 AM) 13 deserves to be retired before 12, and that's not even taking into account the managing portion of the career. Niether will have his number retired, but strictly as a player AJ accomplished much more than Ozzie.
  19. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) Downgrade??? Catchers are about defense AJ's sucked lately Let's see how Flowers' defense holds up when he gets as banged up as AJ got from playing everyday. Of course, Flowers probably won't be able to play nearly everyday like AJ did so we will be stuck with a backup catcher for more games this season than we have had over the past eight years.
  20. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 06:33 PM) Awesome. Was more than time to move on. Yeah, after that terrible season he had last year it was "more than time".
  21. AJ was one of the biggest reasons the Sox won the World Series. He deserves to play on a legit contender again. Maybe he can win another ring in Texas. I wish AJ nothing but the best.
