  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 14, 2012 -> 10:46 AM) That was a really really tough ball he dropped out there....seemed he had it in his glove and then dropped it when he made contact with the ball. And he's not a natural LFer, so he's playing out of his normal position where he has the most experience. He dropped it before he made contact with the wall. And he certainly is not a natural LFer, judging by the way he has played there for the Sox so far this season. It was not an easy play, but anyone who is supposed to be one of the better defensive outfielders makes that catch.
  2. I did not like Robin putting Hudson in to pinch run for Dunn instead of Danks or Escobar. Why pinch run your slowest bench player there? And Danks should have caught that ball before he hit the wall. Either his defense is way overrated or he just hasn't played LF much because he sure hasn't impressed me as "the best defensive OFer in the organization" as Hawk calls him.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 04:13 PM) Clearly, he's being moved in one of those trades. He said he'd make the first trade without giving up major league talent. I certainly don't think he's implying they would trade Jones for Oliver.
  4. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:08 PM) If KW can pull this trade off without giving up any major league talent unless its (Santiago) and make a smaller deal with the Jays for Oliver. We will be set for the 2nd half and hopefully to go far in the post season. starting rotation ( I'd go with the Six man rotation) Sale Peavy Quintana Volquez Danks Floyd bullpen Humber RR Oliver LR Crain RR Thornton LR Street RR Reed Closer What about Nate Jones?
  5. Whatever happened to that kid SS, Silviero or something like that? I think he was 16 when they signed him a few years ago, but it was still under the Wilder regime so he may have been another fraud. Is he still in the organization? If so, is he considered a prospect?
  6. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 05:39 PM) On CTL, Phil Rogers just said that Dale Sveum has done a better job than Robin this year in most categories. LMAOROFLLOLHAHA what the f***ing f***? Maybe in throwing at opposing batters, but that's about all.
  7. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) There are two red squares on the far right of the non-normalized plots. Those are the calls against Rios. One was probably six to eight inches outside, the other about three inches. Thanks. I see my mistake now, I was looking at it as if the view was from the pitcher looking towards the plate but now I see the view is from the umpires perspective.
  8. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 04:48 PM) Strike zone plot for today's game: http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/zoneTr...amp;prevDate=78 Either I'm not reading those graphs correctly, or they are not accurate at all. There were two balls way outside to Rios in just one at bat that were called strikes that I don't see represented on those graphs. Or was the "Pitch Trax" on WGN that far off?
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 08:38 PM) Can anyone tell me which is the only team that HAS NOT been swept yest this season in the AL? The Chicago White Sox.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 07:51 AM) And there, in a nutshell, is why AJ isn't on the team. Because he tells it like it is?
  11. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) Aw darn, no A.J.? He's been red hot in this series They'll probably lose today without AJ, but the guy can't play all 162.
  12. QUOTE (johnnymick @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) I didn't realize it, but tonight was AJs 1000th game for the White Sox. I am not sure exactly where that fits in our history, but he has to be one of the top catchers we have had. He's helped win us a World Series and anchored the spot behind the base for a long time. This offseason will be a tough decision, especially if he keeps up the offensive production as he has been. Do we keep him or let him go? Keep him. AJ should finish his career with the White Sox and remain part of the organization after his playing career is over.
  13. If the Sox can't compete financially with the Cubs for prospects, maybe it's time they consider moving out of Chicago to a city/sate that will support them and allow them to compete with the big market teams. If this craphole corrupt city would rather support the last place, over 100 years without a championship Cubs over the Sox, why do they even want to stick around. Move somewhere else and pick up a new fanbase. I'll still be a Sox fan and if they move somewhere nice maybe I'll even move there when I can retire.
  14. The Sox have needed a guy like this since Carl Everett's been gone.
  15. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 08:11 PM) New Lineup: 1. De Aza 2. Beckham 3. Dunn 4. Konerko 5. Rios 6. Pierzynski 7. Youkilis 8. Viciedo 9. Ramirez that's my take, I might like to see Youkilis hit 2nd at some point with his history of getting on base at a high rate, but I guess you don't want to mess with Beckham moving him around especially since he's raising that average. I'd swap Youk and Viciedo in that order to start out, then gradually move Youk up as he produces.
  16. Who plays first base after they pinch run for Paulie late in the game now?
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:34 PM) They should have never given Viciedo an error on that double. That ball did seem to come off that wall harder than expected. Kind of a crazy bounce.
  18. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 05:40 PM) You have ask why BL is in the lineup instead of Jordan Dunks. KW looking to trade? Wolf is a LHP.
  19. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:56 AM) I think it's worth Viciedo, no? No.
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 04:50 PM) I am not certain De Aza was hit on purpose, but if he was that's baseball. We won and that is real good payback IMO We were winning 7-0 at the time De Aza was hit and we did not score any more after that so what was the payback again?
  21. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) Get ANY major league third baseman from ANY team. That's what I'd do. Because that's all it would take to upgrade. I will say this - when the best you could do for a starting third baseman is a washed up second basemen you probably don't deserve to win any division.
  22. I believe KW was once again only answering a question put to him about the attendence and if/how it affects his ability to add payroll. I could be wrong, but I don't think he goes around bringing up the subject on his own.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) Cardinals rallying...Reds have a chance to push across tie-breaking run. .....and the Sox are having a hard time scoring more than one run against Travis f***ing Wood.
