  1. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 11:47 PM) This. Not to mention it seems they hustle on groundball outs (I remember Span, I think it was Span was benched for not running out a grounder, something we see most of our players not doing) they don't beat themselves with errors too often, they don't run into outs and know the situation on when to bunt and when not to bunt, etc.. etc.. They play the game of baseball beautifully. Yet they perform worse than the Cubs do in the playoffs.... It's a little peculiar to me that a team that repeatedly drilled Sox hitters throughout the season, took a cheap shot at the Sox' catcher and has beaten the Sox numerous times over the years on some of the luckiest breaks and flukiest plays imagineable is being drooled over on a White Sox message board on the same night they just intentionally hit our MVP in the face with a pitch. It's bad enough our TV announcer and our manager can't stop fawning over them whenever the Sox are about to face them. Maybe that's why the Sox never beat them -- they're mentally beaten before they begin every series against them.
  2. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) Congrats to a model organization Bulls***. They take cheap shots, throw at batters intentionally, beat s***ty teams on luck and then lose in the first round in the playoffs. If you want to admire a team like that and congratulate them that's fine --but why don't you do it on a Twins board?
  3. f*** the Twins and their bulls*** brand of baseball. Little dinky hits, balls that hit bases, bulls*** calls by umps that save their asses, balls that hit off rafters in domes, taking cheap shots at opposing players, etc. I hope the Yankees kick their asses and sweep them in the first round of the playoffs. And screw Ozzie for never seeing to it that his team even the score against Young. And after what happened to Paulie tonight and later Pierre getting hit despite the warning, Young and Mauer should have had to spend the night in the hospital.
  4. Just replace Teahen and Kotsay on the this roster with a quality 3B & RFer and they would be fine.
  5. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) And is Danks the newer Big-game Javier Vasquez? As I asked earlier, how many big games did he not pitch well? Danks deserved to lose tonight.
  6. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 05:23 PM) MN has miracle finishes in the last two weeks of the season, not the Sox, season's dead..... That's the spirit!
  7. This game foreshadows the rest of this season. Just as the Sox were down by six going into thier first AB and came all the way back to win this game, so the Sox, being six games behind the Twins going into their final series will come all the way back to win the division.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) That would be a worst case scenario. I suppose Castro and Flowers could handle the position about as well as Jamie Burke and Ben Davis did.
  9. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 07:09 PM) The apathy in this forum is amazing, really... I'm pretty confident the Sox are going to win this game.
  10. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) Beckham brain cramp but sets up a DP. Right.
  11. Sox hitters should try to drive everything up the middle right at Joe West all night tonight. Would be a good approach to take plus give them all a little extra motivation to see who can actually hit West.
  12. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) Teahen is not only a terrible baseball player, but he has no fit on this team beyond LH pinch hitter. If we make it he'll in all likelihood miss the postseason roster all throughout the playoffs, no matter what the Kotsay haters will insist. And Ozzie will be 100% in the right for doing it. I have to agree with this.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 12:03 PM) Is West going to be the home plate ump in this series? Because if it is...ugh. I'm thinking the same thing. He better not cost the Sox a win -- you know he'd like to.
  14. QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 10:51 AM) He hasn't been bad - but he hasn't been a badass. Somewhere inbetween. =D I also hope that today marks the first Manny *SmackOb***** sighting. He's getting close. =) Once he blasts off - there aint no stoppin this train. f*** THE TWINS!!! He was doing just fine until Walker tweaked his stance so he could hit for power. I'm confident Manny will figure it out sooner rather than later. He may not hit for the power he used to but I think he'll still be an OBP and RBI machine. I just hope he doesn't feel pressured into hitting a lot of HRs because then he may fail.
  15. Also, how often do you see the umpire make a pitcher remove a bracelet or a necklace? Yes, it happens from time to time, but was it just coincidence that they made Putz remove his bracelet in the eighth and Sale his necklace in the ninth last night? Or can it be that this crew is just looking for anything they can find to call on the Sox? I believe it's the latter. Supposedly Reinsdorf is buddies with Selig. It's time for JR to make a phone call.
  16. People will complain that he's too fat the first time he blows a save.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) Whew, wasn't sure how far that was off the bat. Hell of a clutch hit by AJP!! AJ coming on strong late in the season during a pennant race. He's got a lot left in the tank. I hope he's back next year.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=493364 Thanks. Looks like he did pretty well in his last ten games, by the numbers anyway. Hopefully he can help out some down the stretch.
