Take that, all you whiners and know-it-alls who were calling for KW's head over a bunch of unsubstantiated reports from unnamed sources.
Maybe you'll learn your lesson and give KW the benefit of the doubt next time until anything official is announced.

It absolutely will be Jose Contreras (he's the first to go, imo, and than as the deadline approaches either Buehrle goes or one of Jon/Javier goes if he gets an amazing offer, otherwise Kenny holds off till the off-season to move the 2nd pitcher).
Kenny is going to have a harder time trading Jose after his 86-88mph fastballs last night. The Sox may do well if they can straighten his mechanics out over the next couple of weeks and he can have a couple of strong outings before the deadline.

You play the season to make the playoffs and to win the world series. The only difference between the 90 win that misses out of the playoffs and the 56 win team is a draft position. I want them to win because I am a fan. Rebuilding teams worry about momentum going into the next season. Championship teams, will look at this year as a blip in the radar, and will try to come out proving that the critics are wrong.
It's much easier for a 90 win team to attract quality free agents than it is for a 56 win team to do so.
Tonight's Lineup
Gonzo, LF; Iguchi, 2B; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; AJ, C; Dye, RF; Fields, 3B; Terrero, CF; Uribe, SS. Buehrle pitching.
Expect Scott P to head to the DL tomorrow with Jerry Owens taking his place. That song and dance is getting old.

6-1 on the road trip
10-18 for the month - fourth-lowest winning percentage in 50 years for June
We're playing 1.000 so far in July!

Holy crap. Two series wins in a row! Too bad it came at the end of our stretch of sub .500 teams
Better now than never!

wow, Terrero isnt the sharpest tool in the shed. WTF is he stealing with Thome up?
That wasn't Terrero. But your point is well taken. I wonder if that was supposed to be a hit and run the way Thome swung at that pitch. Either way, it made no sense.

I'm just grateful that we didn't extend his deal. Jermaine Dye had two of the most memorable seasons in Sox history his first two years here, and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and just forget about this year once he's traded.
KW certainly deserves credit for not signing Dye, Iguchi and Crede to big contract extensions before this season as many would have liked. Smart moves by Kenny. He knows what he's doing.
