  1. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ May 3, 2007 -> 04:35 PM) Sisco >> Gload I wonder if KC would have taken Mackowiak for Sisco or Anderson for Sisco. We'll never know.
  2. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) Another approach would be to trade Dye and Gio for Rich Harden. That would be a franchise-defining move which could backfire horribly or give us the best rotation in baseball and insurance for Contreras and buy a little more time for Danks in AAA...as well as insurance for the possible loss of Buehrle. Why do you think they need to buy a little more time for Danks in AAA? Gio and Dye is a big price to pay.
  3. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 2, 2007 -> 06:48 PM) Mr Caulfield is taking a very extreme negative view of this teams chances after just 24 games or so. A little too early to give up on the season. Some people act like they've never been through an entire baseball season before. I'm as frustrated as anyone about now, but I'm not ready to give up and start thinking about next season after 25 freakin' games! Quitters never win.
  4. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 2, 2007 -> 06:21 PM) This is the best option to field a competitive team for next year. This season just started. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 2, 2007 -> 07:44 PM) You know, I hate to be a complete buzzkill, homer, Hawk-lover right here, but the Twins were 11-18 on May 5th of last year. They won 96 games. I'm not comparing the Twins and Sox, but one of the changes that the Twins made during last year was a change in hitting coaches early on, and they also got rid of their mediocre talent and replaced it with younger talent. In other words, get rid of Walker to light a fire, get Fields up to play LF, get Sweeney in to play RF, and get Dye into the DH spot until Thome comes back. When Thome does come back, demote one of Fields and Sweeney who is doing the worst. It's a long shot to work, but that will atleast bring some talent into the lineup rather than trotting Mackowiak, Terrero, and Ozuna out there every game. I agree with everything except the part about bringing up Fields to play LF.
  5. Great. Now the Sox mini-comeback in the top of the ninth is going to fall short.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 1, 2007 -> 08:49 PM) On a s***tier note, Tribe and Twinkies coasting tonight and Tigers look like they might pull away late in their game. Tonight is about as close to a "must win" for the Sox as you can get on May 1st.
  7. Ozzie is finally comfortable giving Erstad a rest now that Terrero is here!
  8. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 10:39 PM) Doubt they would trade him now... that kid is good. Real good.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) Jones would only be necessary if Thome's injury acts up and causes him to miss more than two weeks. We wouldn't have to give up our top prospects in order to get someone like Jones. We'd have to give up way too much for Rocco or Murton, and neither guy is worth their asking price. Of course, KW could have avoided this mess if he would have found us a LF/leadoff hitter this offseason. If we're talking about dealing with the Cubs, lets get Angel Pagan for cheap. I'd love to see him on the Sox' bench--especially instead of Terrero.
  10. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 08:26 AM) You hijacked YOUR OWN f***ING THREAD. In the first post. Unbef***inglievable. ROFLMAO! QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 08:26 AM) Anyone ever suspect that BA went down to get more at bats and develop his new swing better and they brought up Terrero because he is only going to play once a week, and he is the lesser risk as a bench player? Yes. That, and they wanted to keep him away from Sweeney after the games.
  11. Terrero better not take any playing time from Sweeney or Ozuna. He better be used solely as an emergency CFer.
  12. Maybe KW will do something bold and wild & crazy: Sign Rickey Henderson!
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 10:49 PM) Fields would seem to be the logical choice, but a growing part of me envisions Terrero or Owens being called up. Fields would seem to me to be a very illogical choice. He's clearly not ready, off to a bad start at the plate, and has been said to be looking "lazy" in the field. Why start his arbitration clock running so soon, especially just to sit on the bench for two weeks?
  14. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) Good. Maybe Owens? Bring up that Brazilian kid as a pinch runner.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) You won't get more up-to-date news than this. Broadway left his start today in Charlotte after two pitches due to injury. No word on what it is yet. Wonderful
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 04:16 PM) Sweeney. Terrero's not coming up. He hasn't taken a walk, and is hitting like crap in Charlotte. He's more useless than Anderson. You'll see either Fields or Perez in the starting lineup at DH on Tuesday against Washburn, with Ozuna in LF. I don't want to see Fields up yet unless they have traded Crede for something really good.
  17. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) Why would they pick today to decide to send him down. Becuase with Sweeney here, the Sox have someone other than Mack who can backup CF. That's the only reason Brian was on the roster anyway.
  18. Today's Lineup Erstad, CF; Mack, RF; PK, 1B; AJ, C; Dye, DH; Crede, 3B; Cintron, 2B; Uribe, SS; Sweeney, LF. Buehrle pitching
  19. QUOTE(Disco72 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 10:29 AM) The Score just reported that Sweeney is in the starting lineup today. I hope he goes four for four with a couple of RBI's. All line drives in the gap.
  20. Well if this is true then I hope Ozzie starts him in LF everyday for the next 15 games or so while Mack and Ozuna platoon at DH. If they're going to start the arbitration clock, they better not have him sitting on the bench stunting his development. I really don't think he's ready, but might as well use him and see. Maybe he could at least take Anderson's spot when Thome gets back. Let's just hope he doesn't get on Ozzie's bad side.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) I've been told the organization isn't that high on him. Probably not tall enough.
