  1. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) Thank god.... Score some runs here... NO extra innings, I REALLY don't want this awful game to go on any longer.... As long as it takes for the Sox to win it.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:04 AM) No one up in the pen and they won't be needed, Boone will come through. He's throwing some sick looking slurves. The problem is no one is going to chase them when your down in the count. Good call.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:28 PM) AJP has to be the worst defensive catcher in baseball. Bulls***.
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:13 PM) I'd freaking throw up if the Sox acquired Adam Dunn. That guy is the reason why I think stat people are absolutely fools. People rave about his ability but I rave about how completely over-rated he is (not saying he's a bad player, but he isn't the god statisticians make him out to be). Cub fans can have them. IT would just mean they have a bit more offense to go with that awful rotation. Defensively, Dunn plays left field about as well as Ross Gload.
  5. QUOTE(GreenSox @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) The Mets' AAA team is the New Orleans Zephyrs and he's on that roster along with another aging old ML catcher whose name escapes me. My mistake. They must have been playing the Isotopes yesterday then. Anyway, as of yesterday he was playing for the Mets AAA affiliate, so I would doubt that it was Sandy who was in the Sox' dugout tonight.
  6. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:55 PM) How does that improve our team? Dye>Baldelli LOL! That is a head scratcher.
  7. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) oh yea, i'd take that. wonder what they would want for Rowand. Anderson and who else? Seeing that Rowand is a FA after this season and the Phillies had been shopping him, I wonder if they would take Anderson for him straight up. Supposedly Florida was very interested in BA, maybe the Phillies could flip him to the Marlins for pitching. I don't know how low Anderson's stock has fallen with other organizations.
  8. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) We'd have to get a major 'good vibe hometown' discount for Dye to be back here next year. I was talking about this year.
  9. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) If Rowand comes back, it's because KW thinks playing him everyday is better than a platoon of Mack and Ozuna in LF. Don't see it happening. An outfield of Erstad, Rowand and Dye sounds fine to me.
  10. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) The Cubs need someone who can come into the game in the later innings and play the OF and actually catch the ball. Maybe even play against lefties and give Pie a break. The Sox could use a right handed batter who actually can hit. Murton can't field but he can hit and has nowhere to play for the Cubs. Anderson for Murton could be a good deal. I think Anderson will be the better player in a couple of years, but I have a hard time believing he's going to be very successful with the Sox. I hear you, but the only problem is then we're back to Mack as our backup CF.
  11. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) He does not belong on this roster. He is finally getting a chance to prove his worth and he's making some sloppy plays in the outfield and looking terrible at the plate. I wonder how other organizations rate Anderson right now. Do they still see him as a potential starter? Would the Phillies take him for Rowand, a soon to be FA, straight up?
  12. Anderson always jumps back from every strike thrown over the inner third of the plate.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) I think there's a shot he could be interested in being a catcher and my guess is the club prefers him to Molina. But I also know the Sox have told him he could coach (at least in the past) in the org so maybe they are about to announce something. Either way he's more than welcome in the dugout because he's a great baseball guy. As of yesterday he was playing for the Albuquerque Isotopes which I believe is affiliated with the Mets. I'm surprised the Mets would allow him to sit in another ML team's dugout. Did they release him?
  14. Today's Lineup Erstad, DH; Iguchi, 2B; Konerko, 1B; AJ, C; Dye, RF; Crede, 3B; Mackowiak, LF; Uribe, SS; Anderson, CF. Vazquez pitching.
  15. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) my bad all the"Konerko sucks", "Konerko is worthless", "Konerko is an idiot" posts made me think some members of this fine website wanted him gone. The game threads around here are an embarassment and make Sox fans look bad.
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) Very encouraging to see Konerko finally hitting. If he stays hot, expect a prolonged win streak. That's exactly what I am expecting!
