  1. Depends what you mean by production. I think they'll get better than average offense. Defense well.......
  2. I agree. I would prefer not to go with the RF platoon. But he said top priority. I would focus on 2B first.
  3. I would agree. I think the platoon in RF is better than any internal option at 2B.
  4. It a shame that they haven't been in the playoffs to compete in such as long time then. I agree they haven't been competitive in a very long time. Probably won't be for awhile either.
  5. You can criticize everyone as no one gets them all correct. But everyone seems absolutely convinced that this FO can not and will not get anything right. Just not true, in my view. Is it guaranteed to go right or wrong, no. As you said, I place more on the resources provided before. Let's see how it is now.
  6. Is that 1 out of 75 or 80 posts. I don't he's much different than most GMs. Win some, lose some. I think he's biggest issue in the past has been lack of resources. Let's hope that isn't the case now.
  7. He is also the guy who acquired grandal, abreu, moncada, Jimenez, Robert, Giolito Cease Bummer and Hendricks.
  8. Can you give any justification that he will be effective for an entire season when he hasn't ever made more than 28 starts and 165 innings and that was only once 6 years ago. Its a guess on either side whether or not he can be healthy for even a season.
  9. Even if they get minor league filler, they have committed no money to him. They can spend it elsewhere then. Your scenario is entirely plausible. Trade Kimbrel for nothing, use his money elsewhere. However, there is a chance that nothing turns into something. Nothing lost either way.
  10. It remains to be seen if Rodon>Kimbrel. It a huge risk committing a rotation spot to Rodon.
  11. I disagree. If they don't trade all of his salary it will be for a better prospect, thus it would be worth it.
  12. Valid point. I just think the core is young enough to have an extended window. They don't need stars in the upper minors now they need it 2 years when these players are going to get too expensive or old.
  13. It remains to be seen if the league wide view of Rodon is correct. I can see why the Sox wouldn't want to tie themselves to a pitcher even just this year that hasn't pitched a full year in awhile. It's a huge risk to count on him for the year. Like I said with Kimbrel, even if they get a Class A flyer on him it costs nothing
  14. sure. That's one philosophy. I would rather get as many shots in the playoffs as possible to win as opposed to selling out for one or two shots. Baseball is so fickle with pitching injuries and hitters having off years that I prefer the long game. I understand your point and it's valid, I just prefer a different one.
  15. Not really. Neither piece is was an integral part of the future and they were getting the best bullpen arm available. Didn't work but he was the best pitcher available.
  16. Not if they don't want either of them. You know the only reason they picked up Kimbrel's option is to trade him. Even if it's for a Class A flyer they lose nothing by picking up the option.
  17. Shoving the chips into the middle guarantees a shorter window. I would prefer they slow play and extend the window.
  18. I thought it was, The FO know more about Rodon than you.
  19. True. But I don't think as much the date as it is a strategy to wait out the market. It will depend on how quickly others sign.
