Signing Bellinger to the deal he wants would be an awful move.
-
I don't buy anything that comes out in the media in general from any team source. They only let out what they want you to know. If it comes from a player, it's usually the same or a disgruntled one. Maybe working too many years in the industry has made me cynical but there is too much going on behind the scene that the fans and media never hear about that really skews anything reported.

He was also a unique hitter in that he hit off his front leg as opposed to keeping his weight back. Much of his decrease performance in his latter years was from his fracture of his left foot which destroyed his arch. He could no longer load onto that foot. He really couldn't run at all either. Hits that would be doubles would be singles. The supports that he wears in his left shoe even today are substantial.

While it's not good for hitting in general we all know the hitters in today's game are paid by HR and power. This is why everyone is teaching it.

Heard a comedian with a great joke about the difference between millenials and Gen x. The perfect example of the difference is that Taylor swift sings whiny songs about exs while Stevie nicks wrote songs about her ex and sang them to him while she made him sing backup and play the guitar on stage. -
Maybe not failed, but there were serious concerns.
-
Right but someone earlier said the rock island goes right through the land. This would also be very easy from the south burbs.
-
If the trains go to the area as people say, it will make travel from the south burbs easy. Soldier field is really easy from the south as the Metra drops you off right at the stadium.

I think I would disagree that the players are underpaid as with the NBA having 12 players on the roster and the NFL having 53. The NBA has a small squad of G league to pay salaries and the NFL has none while baseball also has 4 full minor league teams to pay for as well. Most salary reports have the MLB average salary as twice that of the NFL and the NFL has around a 4 billion dollar greater revenue so if the MLB owners are greedy the NFL owners are in a different level.
-
Of course they can and do at times. But look at the list and tell me which teams most often have the best records. Also if these are correct payrolls these add up to nearly 4.5 billion. If the revenues are 10 billion as was comedy earlier that's nearly 50% of MLB gross revenues. That's quite a bit tied up in just payroll of the MLB teams. The NFL and NBA are 48% and 45% respectively.

Never did I mention the White Sox. I said it was for the good of the league and the game of baseball to have all teams within a competitive sary range.
-
I understand that it will never happen. And due to that the teams with the highest revenues will always dominate the regular season of baseball thus they will also win in the postseason more often. Fans should just get used to it. Baseball is so random in the playoffs that the small market teams will get through occasionally but it will be inconsistent. I love to go watch games regardless it would just be nice if fans of all teams could have hope at the beginning of each season on a regular basis.

What does it say about the league when both slowik and Johnson won't leave their teams to become the head coach for either Atlanta or Washington? -
Just because they are making money doesn't mean it's record profits. There are also record salaries and that's just the MLB players not to mention all for the other employees in the ever expanding FOs. The come on I know they are rhetoric is just that we don't know but everyone just wants to jump on it. I disagree with the sentiment of not caring about competitive balance. I know you have said you aren't a baseball fans but a white Sox fan. However I'm a baseball fan and for the good of the game, the league needs a salary cap and floor so their is a more level playing field for the league.
-
Whats more important 1. Having the league more competitive where all owners are forced into a range of salary structure. 2. The owners with the highest revenues make a greater profit?
-
Where is the documents that show they are making record profits?
-
There have been proposals where they have but they won't agree to it until the union agrees to a cap.

They will spend for the first 5 years until all the tax advantages expire. -
I no longer can resist using the MASH TV series pun. It would be fun to watch pitching Woo. I apologize if someone has already done it. ?

To each his own. I agree parts were fine. But the last couple of them anytime a one from the FO was present it devolved into a complaining Therapy session. Asking tough questions was fine but the complaning and moaning about everything got tiresome.
-
This is precisely why they don't need the event. When he becomes a therapy session for adults it's no longer fun for many fans especially the kids.
