  1. I'm on board, doesn't hurt to see what the offers are though. You never know.
  2. I know the deadline to declare for the draft is today but is there a specific time today?
  3. There was also a report that he wants part of ownership of the team that drafts him. So who knows what to believe.
  4. What everyone from your group doesn’t seem to grasp is that it may be be right now but that doesn't matter. There is no rush for a deal to be made right now so it doesn't hurt to try to push it. He can always give in when he feels the time is right.
  5. If you truly believe this and not just trolling, then you don't understand the dynamics of a trade between 2 teams. Needs and demands of individual teams ay into the dynamic of negotiations. This does explain your stance on negotiations so at least you are consistent.
  6. You keep changing the topic. You asked why he thought westburg did not have the same value. I gave you the reason why.
  7. The part you are skipping over is the one thing the Sox don't have really anywhere is left handed power. This is something they have been missing for years. So in this deal, that is a premium. The value of the prospects in this is not the same it might be in other deals. The value of a prospect differs as the market and deal dictates. It is not an absolute value. This will help clubs in some situations and hurt it in others.
  8. Me too. I have a few of them.
  9. That's the dilemma. He has quality stuff to get MLB hitters out. Do they get him the innings helping the MLB team or have him in the minors?
  10. I'm with you. Even if it's a lesser quality hitter, if he add defense it's a better acquisition.
  11. Sports radio makes a living talking to the lowest denominator and creating controversy to get ratings.
  12. You should have learned by now to not show any positivity or optimism here. You you be shot down and ridiculed. Just enjoy the entertainment.
  13. Maybe it was 22 I was thinking of the. I'm old I cold have mixed up the years.
  14. Which shows you that they had confidence in multiple guys on the staff so Chapman would have been even further buried in the pen. So even if they talked to Chapman, there us no way he would sign with the Sox.
  15. That's why he gats paid the big bucks. It is taking a calculated chance but going on his injury history, a fair bet. It all depends on the current offers.
  16. Agreed. If there isn't an acceptable package now. Roll the dice at the trade deadline.
  17. Woah! Is someone saying Hahn made not just a good but possibly great trade?
  18. OK. Nice research. This is drastically different then the discussions everyone had prior to the season. Most of the people on the board had figured that they were roughly19 million from the luxury tax. I still disagree that Chapman would have 1. Agreed to sign with the Sox because of the better opportunity in KC as he wasn't going to be the 3rd option in the pen. 2. That he would have made any appriciable difference. As Graveman was the primary closer and Chapman would have been relegated to lesser use even than he was in KC as Graveman was fairly successful.
