  1. How much are the Dodgers giving up for only Edman? Can't be a ton.
  2. I really can't see him ever managing. He is right where he should be for a career. His knowledge and grasp of the game makes that role perfect for him.
  3. Unless his personality has changed since his playing days, which is possible, he doesn't have the interpersonal skills to be a successful manager.
  4. That's fine. I just disagree and am willing to give the new group a chance before everything is condemned.
  5. I don't disagree. I wouldn't call him good but his teams overall have a better history than some. The hyperbole of he is the worst and nothing will ever go right just gets tiresome as it just isn't true.
  6. I don't know. The orioles had how many 100 loss teams in a row? Seattle has never won the world series. I'm not necessarily a fan of JR but he is not the worst. Again I don't think the single worst season makes him the worst owner. Over time he's probably average to below average.
  7. I would say that JR is the most successful sox owner when it comes to that. Overall his teams and history is nowhere near as bad as teams the orioles who had multiple 100 loss teams or the Cleveland browns or vikings who have won nothing in the modern era. JRs probably aren't as bad as the Bears reams of the modern era.
  8. As the worst owners in sports? I don't think so. He sunk a good amount of payroll for Hahn to give early big contracts to Eloy, Moncada and Robert as well as benentendi. That sunk the rebuild and lead to this.
  9. That's not the topic. The topic was expecting doom because JR is the worst owners in sports. I disagree he is the worst in sports.
  10. So making the playoffs is a failure and qualifies for the worst owners in sports. Is winning the world series the only success? Then 90% of the owners in the league qualify as the worst owners in sports.
  11. Yes, base all if your views in a single season. Go back 2 years and they made the playoffs 2 years in a row. They must be one if the best run teams in the league. Everyone knew this was going to be an awful season with the new FO taking over and the core of the team being what it was. If you expected different, I don't know what to tell you.
  12. I like the Cease trade. Thorpe has looked awfully good for a rookie on an awful team. Iriarte looks good. The reliever you mentioned looks good as well. As I mentioned elsewhere. He was stuck with having to have a core of Eloy, Moncada, Benintendi and Robert which sunk the last regime. I'm willing to see how he does once he dumps them and gets to build a team. I also like many of his FO hires.
  13. I prefer to give the new guys chance before I draw the conclusion. I'm a fan I always want them to do well and so far he's done ok with trades.
  14. At least you have an open mind to wait and see what happens.
  15. If they took all that money to sign one really good player, everyone would complain about the poor quality of the rest of the roster around that one really good player.
  16. I think we all knew that going into the season. What we didn't know was that Crochet was going to be a starter of this quality.
  17. I agree. But he us right to be concerned about his health pitching in to October. So I don't blame him for wanting some insurance. It's worth a shot to see if a team will bite on it.
  18. No one in history has pitched this far over his previous innings while coming off UCL reconstruction either.
