  1. Correct. Which means they consult and work with each other everyday, especially during the trade deadline. While Hahn has final say, doesn't mean he doesn't work with KW and many others. Hahn had to talk to the scout who saw the players form the Miami organization as well looking at other players since Ng was targeting Burger.. No decisions are made without input from many others. Full decision making authority does not mean he doesn't consult with many others in the organization before making the decision.
  2. People just don't seem to realize that no one does all of the work by themselves in any organization. It's just too much. They all work together with the GM having the final say. He consults KW on nearly all deals. When it was crunch time she called the person she knows the best. KW did not make this trade without working with Hahn.
  3. That does happen. The latest stats I've seen is that 85% return to prior level of performance. We're getting better with them using PRP and Stem cells and now the internal augmentation. However, not everyone fully returns regardless of what we do.
  4. This is a good example of how the data can be skewed due to a season timeframe. He was ready long before 19 months. But according to the data he didn't return to the MLB until then.
  5. A couple of months isn't that much for rehab especially considering it will be skewed for those who have it towards the end of a season and essentially miss nearly two years.
  6. Here's one where the average return for MLB pitchers is just under 16 months for 36 pitchers. Really good a analysis of pitch movement and spin rates post surgery too. fury-et-al-2021-return-to-performance-after-ulnar-collateral-ligament-reconstruction-in-major-league-baseball-pitchers.pdf
  7. 12-14 months is not very aggressive. It's pretty typical. He should be throwing by 9-10 months. retrieve.pdf Here is a good systematic review. They say the typical range is 6.5 to 16 months. The 6.5 is when they use an internal augmentation device. Not sure they would do that in this case though.
  8. He's been living with the partially torn ligament for years. It has going to happen eventually.
  9. Ok. thanks. The app is just easier at work.
  10. Sounds reasonable. Time to get a look at players if they think they're ready.
  11. He can't pitch during daytime starts. Or at night, or in high humidity, or when it's cloudy.........?
  12. Is there a way to find the DSL and ACL games on the MiLB app? I see how you found it online but I can't find it in the app? Thanks!
  13. Look at what st. Louis got from the Orioles. If that was the offer then it was smart to hang onto Cease
  14. He'll be there for a couple of years maybe it will lower the average temp for the area.
  15. I wouldn't necessarily write off covid issues. 95% of people who git it have no long term ramifications. However we have patients that look like they have had pneumonia constantly for years as a results of covid. Their O2 say remains below 90 which can be dangerous. We have no idea if it is and it's not likely but it can't be ruled out.
  16. That did suck. It would have been fun to see in person
  17. OK. How about this then. They won 93 games just two years ago and now they suck. It has been a precipitous fall in a short period of time. I would currently take a 93 win team even if they did not make the bloated playoff system. And to take it back to the original hijacked discussion, it's not because they haven't had a poorly ranked farm system for years.
  18. I did. Making the playoffs in 3 out 4 years would be a pretty good start.
  19. Good points but also not on topic. I don't think anyone would argue that the rebuild has fizzled and the plan hasn't worked. I just think people are ignoring the fact that it did start well. He should go as it overall hasn't worked. It his responsibility.
  20. Very nice but not really sure that has any bearing on the discussion of how the farm system ranked. I don't think anyone would argue that most of the players started out strong as it lead to 2 playoff appearances but then fell off a and suck now. It's very short sighted to only look at a very small window of performance on either side.
  21. We'll I guess its good they can acquire players other than from the draft.
  22. Even if it was only 60 games, they were one of the better teams in the league. Now they're awful.
  23. It's really amazing that just a year and a half ago the sox made the playoffs two years in a row for the first time in moxern history. It has been like falling off a cliff.
  24. Got it. Just sounded like you were implying that it's been a really long time that they haven't been ranked and that the current front office hasn't produced a good farm system in a longtime based on the performance of the current group. That's what it sounded like. Guess I'm too old to realize the "few" has so many definitions.
