  1. Sure sounds like he was from the way they've been talking about it.
  2. That's does make it more concerning, as it's a central herniation opposed to a unilateral. If it stays just in the hips and needs surgery it's a microdiscectomy instead of an open procedure. Much better chance of a good recovery.
  3. It doesn't appear that he has taken 6 months to rehab with his previous disc injuries.
  4. No. The torque isn't as stressful as sitting for the disc to resistthe force. . The disc is designed with cross fibers to withstand the torque of turning. The weakness of the disc is the shearing force of sitting.
  5. Any reports if it was bilateral or unilateral? Did they says glutes or glute?
  6. That's a whole lot better than going passed the knee. If this has happened in the past it makes sense they were thinking just the Minnesota series.. We can improve the symptoms in less than a week many times. This one sounds it isn't responding as fast as previous episodes. Not a great sign. As long as the pain/numbness stays above the knee, it's a good sign
  7. If it hasn't progressed to the point of leg pain/numbness that a good prognosis.
  8. Sitting puts the most stress on the disc. Especially if it's poor posture.
  9. This is the more common injury prognosis. Without an examination there is no way to tell but to say the career is in jeopardy right now is a little premature.
  10. This injury assessment is false. It CAN be that severe but those are the exception and not the rule.
  11. Not all injuries are equal. Just because one ayer didn't need one doesn't mean another will or won't. A hamstring is different than the spine.
  12. Sports are entertainment. It's all entertainment. Obviously, there is no legal issue as they are allowed to play in the WBC
  13. Congrats. Always good to make it there!
  14. It's a rough schedule to start to the season, no doubt.
  15. What most don't realize is that it's common practice. Not all of course but many mangers have that guy.
  16. Grifol really likes Alberto he stated that early in Spring training. Most managers have a favorite utility guy. Sound familiar?
  17. Yes. It's a grade 1 to grade 2 or mild to moderate sprain. The time frame is grade 1, 1 to 4 weeks Grade 2, 4-6 weeks Grade 3 6-8 weeks. So it's a reasonable time frame and he will fully recover. These are time to return to play with usually around 80 -90% of the physiologic healing. Ligaments don't fully heal for 9-12 Months. But again that's complete healing not healed enough to return to full activities.
  18. Injuries happen. Keeps me employed!
  19. Not sure about that. I think plenty of posters were rather be proven right that RH, KW and JR and inept instead of seeing the Sox win and be proven wrong.
  20. That's one of the best things about baseball. A game tomorrow.
  21. As I said before the season started, if they are within 5 games of 500 after April it will be a good start
  22. The jump was that it was the last season in the old ballpark.
